Elena, your video is well put about experiences, however, the title indicates negative connotation. Please, if you could update the title. Remember this is experience's and needs to be experienced. The human mind will focus on negative and amplify.

I have severe anger issues, and I've really wanted to calm down and not rage so often. So, in the past couple months, I decided I wanted to learn how to play the sax. In my mind, it would be a way to find that relief, and unwind, coming home after people inevitably make me mad that day. I didn't know this was an actual thing lol, replacing something that makes you feel a certain way with a different thing that makes you feel the same. I will remember this video when I'm practicing!

If you meditate 30 min regularly, in 5 min you can get pretty concentrated. But if all you ever do is 5 min, that's not going to change your experience. Push yourself and soon you will automatically enter pretty deep samadhi in very short times.

Everything in life is a form of Conditioning... Mental and Psychological conditioning on feelings on our imaginations. If somebody says U are Conditioned...Then I would know that I know I am in pain.? Does somebody really have to tell me that...? So how am to breakdown this conditioning.? So I go to a priest, a Guru a psychologist to tell me what to do...? In the meanwhile I've built this enormous prison around myself.😮. So what to do about my conditioning...Not to react. Just not to do anything, just to watch it. As when there is no action, then there is no energy given to your actions and thus there is no force given to your conditioning. In other words life by itself will organise a dissolution of your conditioning...😊😅😂✌️

Why do people come to Bali expecting European western standards of living? It's a developing economy in SEA! Then they hang out in expat areas, surprised things are expensive, socialise predominantly with expats & digital 'NOMADS' in a touristy destination, then wonder why they cant establish a long-term community. Hope more your delulu kind leave Bali so this video gets thumbs up so more people see it and avoid relocating to Bali.

Nothing comes easy you know.. Specially the ulimate truth is the most precious thing in the whole Universe. So it must also be the hardest thing to reach. So never give up until you reach there... Some people's progress is fast and for some it takes time to calm their mind. ‘Monks, this Dhamma, won to by me is deep, difficult to see, difficult to understand, tranquil, excellent, beyond dialectic, subtle, intelligible to the learned. But this is a creation delighting in sensual pleasure, delighted by sensual pleasure, rejoicing in sensual pleasure. So that for a creation delighting in sensual pleasure, delighted by sensual pleasure, rejoicing in sensual pleasure, this were a matter difficult to see, that is to say causal uprising by way of condition. This too were a matter difficult to see, that is to say the tranquillising of all the activities, the renunciation of all attachment, the destruction of craving, dispassion, stopping, Nibbāna." Dear Elena you seem like a good person,If you allow can i suggest few things please or you can ignore if you dont wish to please 🙏 1)You can now change your title from side effects to My honest vipasanna experience because what you shared here says you gained more than you could imagine from the course 2)Every human being is different and they will have different experiences just like two finger prints are not same in this crowded world so dont suggest people who its made for and who not because what you experience in first course will be different in second course thats because you are changing every moment 3)Dont tell people to practice sitting before course because you dont get the point which is the pain that appears on your body during vipasanna is your karma which if you observe equanimously it will vanish,it has to because it came on surface because of your practice of vipasanna which is a golden moment for you to get rid of your bondages n sufferings,You dont feel happy n relaxed because you sat for 10 days you do feel light n calm because you have dropped off some.burden which was hidden in depth of your mind and body please understand this,i know its hard in first course but more you do your brain will become more cleaner n you will realise and understand real vipasanna, its like asking a person to lift weights at home before going to join gym?trust me even if you sit at home for an hour doing vipasanna you wont experience same pain anymore because you cant go that deep at home because of distractions in daily life 4)You know if the pain is there and suddenly you get up from your meditation the pain disappears right?its common sense if pain is there it should atleast be there for an hour?but no it disappears because exactly at that moment when you get up you stopped the process of eradicating deep rooted Sankhara and you know if you just observe the pain while meditating without any judgement it just disappears meaning you have eradicated that particular Sankhara,so wheneve pains comes its a golden moment actually,so dont tell people will hurt themselves its a mental battle not physical, physical is just a medium of eradicating the mental pain 5)When experiencing pleasure sensation at start of sitting dont get attached to that as well it will increase your craving for that 6)Even great body builders before going on stage they hit the weights backstage, musician warm up on their instruments before a concert same is vipasanna you practice at home you feel more relaxed and ready for anything coming your way 7)Social media usage is on you, after vipasanna you are your own master so chose right things like uploading your content nad not reading comments or ignoring seeing people's story because that makes no sense or just dont use social media apart from your work like upload and close the app,use your time in learning something on social media or youtube or learning new art Remember different people will have different experiences during course because different people have accumulated different karmas different cravings different attachments but if technique is followed properly one will come out as a winner and progress,an animal with proper guidance can be trained we are humans we can do better than them we have techniques like vipasanna to literally change our own mind which even doctors cant do neither can God,its us we can do wonders with our mind dear Elena,May you rise and shine in life and in Dhamma♥️🙏 Love from India

Yes, taking the onion shell bit by bit, asking what is behind is the fear of death. That fear of death takes the disguise in many forms and even when we think we are not looking for approval, we do, that we are free of fear in the relationships, then it goes to the situation, or to the financial, or to the self-love and then back in the relationships with projection. Intimate relationships, people, places, situations, are not there to make us fulfill or complete but to make us conscious. Then if we become more conscious, more awake, we are more fulfill or complete. And realize we do not need to add anything to our self to be complete. We are already complete! There is the fear of the physical but most importantly the fear of the psychological. It is the fear of our Ego, loosing the persona, the identity we have built for our self! As soon as we start to see what is deeper, there is no need to reason oneself like I am an adult and do not need approval. The seeing of the primal fear underlying is enough. Not need to add any explanation to the seeing, just seeing and embracing the reality of what is, being gentle and compassionate! We will still want to be seen as human in the eyes of another human in the intimacy of a relationship but not dependent of it for love, for peace, for joy. The void inside each of us still remain and can never be filled by any relationships, neither by any achievements, wealth, situations, because it is meant to stay empty. It is within, in this void and silence that we can get in touch with the source of all creation, the essence of life, in the wonder of staring at the universe at night in a clear sky full of stars made mostly of emptiness. It is only because there is emptiness and silence that any materialization, any life being can be and can be seen. We might think we are free of the fear of death and of the Ego, the persona, and be disguise waiting for another life challenge. It can still be very active but dormant. It can take so many forms like for example in comparison to others or in being proud about oneself and loving more oneself because of what we do, of what we know, also by the achievements, or thinking we are a good person. Free from Ego is beyond good and bad, right and wrong. So can we be at peace, in joy, love of life without having to do anything, not saving others or the world for example, just being at peace with life as it is, being grateful for witnessing life unfolding in all it manifestation. Free, as if we are already dead and contemplating from above? Then it is a new adventure... I wish you all the wonders, joy, peace in your journey. With a smile- Luis

Its very common for foreigners to only last max 2 years living in bali . Ive been here over 30years . Many in their youth do the Bali thing come on holiday year after year they only hang out in the tourist zone which is not the real Bali. You will not find many long term expats living in the tourist zone they live in the communitys out of the tourist zone have embraced the culture married into balinease families. The tourist zone is designed for tourist high prices nothing but traffic stress n very little real balinease culture .

""Buddha’s way was Vipassana - vipassana means witnessing. And he found one of the greatest devices ever: the device of watching your breath, just watching your breath. Breathing is such a simple and natural phenomenon and it is there twenty-four hours a day. You need not make any effort. If you repeat a mantra then you will have to make an effort, you will have to force yourself. If you say, “Ram, Ram, Ram,” you will have to continuously strain yourself. And you are bound to forget many times. Moreover, the word ‘Ram’ is again something of the mind, and anything of the mind can never lead you beyond the mind .Buddha discovered a totally different angle: just watch your breath - the breath coming in, the breath going out. There are four points to be watched. Sitting silently just start seeing the breath, feeling the breath. The breath going in is the first point. Then for a moment when the breath is in it stops - a very small moment it is - for a split second it stops; that is the second point to watch. Then the breath turns and goes out; this is the third point to watch. Then again when the breath is completely out, for a split second it stops; that is the fourth point to watch. Then the breath starts coming in again… this is the circle of breath. If you can watch all these four points you will be surprised, amazed at the miracle of such a simple process - because mind is not involved. Watching is not a quality of the mind; watching is the quality of the soul, of consciousness; watching is not a mental process at all. When you watch, the mind stops, ceases to be. Yes, in the beginning many times you will forget and the mind will come in and start playing its old games. But whenever you remember that you had forgotten, there is no need to feel repentant, guilty - just go back to watching, again and again go back to watching your breath. Slowly, slowly, less and less mind interferes. And when you can watch your breath for forty-eight minutes as a continuum, you will become enlightened. You will be surprised - just forty-eight minutes - because you will think that it is not very difficult… just forty-eight minutes! It is very difficult. Forty-eight seconds and you will have fallen victim to the mind many times. Try it with a watch in front of you; in the beginning you cannot be watchful for sixty seconds. In just sixty seconds, that is one minute, you will fall asleep many times, you will forget all about watching - the watch and the watching will both be forgotten. Some idea will take you far, far away; then suddenly you will realize… you will look at the watch and ten seconds have passed. For ten seconds you were not watching. But slowly, slowly - it is a knack; it is not a practice, it is a knack - slowly, slowly you imbibe it, because those few moments when you are watchful are of such exquisite beauty, of such tremendous joy, of such incredible ecstasy, that once you have tasted those few moments you would like to come back again and again - not for any other motive, just for the sheer joy of being there, present to the breath. Remember, it is not the same process as is done in yoga. In yoga the process is called pranayam; it is a totally different process, in fact just the opposite of what Buddha calls vipassana. In pranayam you take deep breaths, you fill your chest with more and more air, more and more oxygen; then you empty your chest as totally as possible of all carbon dioxide. It is a physical exercise - good for the body but it has nothing to do with vipassana. In vipassana you are not to change the rhythm of your natural breath, you are not to take long, deep breaths, you are not to exhale in any way differently than you ordinarily do. Let it be absolutely normal and natural. Your whole consciousness has to be on one point; watching. And if you can watch your breath then you can start watching other things too. Walking you can watch that you are walking, eating you can watch that you are eating, and ultimately, finally, you can watch that you are sleeping. The day you can watch that you are sleeping you are transported into another world. The body goes on sleeping and inside a light goes on burning brightly. Your watchfulness remains undisturbed, then twenty-four hours a day there is an undercurrent of watching. You go on doing things… for the outside world nothing has changed, but for you everything has changed."

Thank you very much for sharing! I also had this "I will never do it again" 😆It's really true for me about the collapse of structures too. In the long run it's good, life will restructure in a more meaningful way, but in the short run it may seem like we are degrading socially. I'm very sorry that your Mom had difficulties in Lithuania. Was it really in Lithuania? I have just been to the Vipassana centre, the students live in small houses, rooms for three persons. In one house there are two rooms, they share wc and a shower, there is also a separate building for showers and toilets next door. I would agree very much about the cold - one should take a couple of sweaters and warm socks when going to meditate Lithuania, even if it's spring or autumn, there are cold and rainy days. Good thing is that rain and cold may help to meditate, especially if one is sensitive to heat
