The yellow could be partially due to the corn you may feed him. Yellow corn can have some pigmentation that can be carried over to their feathers. They're supposed to be fed with a specific variety of white corn in France.

Common sense says a chicken that takes 14-16 weeks to reach a small dressing weight of 3-4 lbs is expensive and not worth the trouble. I'll stick with the Cornish Cross. I run mine on pasture and grind my own feed. I get no complaints from my customers on flavor or tenderness. Thanks for.the video, you put a lot of work into it.

Home Depot you can just get the amount of feet of THHN/THWN to run wire it would have taken 5mins because no resistance really compared to that Romex also would have put spray electrical foam for wire pulling what have felt like butter. Good job though

As a truck driver for USPS I STRONGLY Despise that usps allows this.. if I was able I would attach a picture of the box of chicks I just had up front with me instead of in the trailer. It is EASILY over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in my trailer today. There Has been MANY TIMES that mail is accidentally left in a trailer of our yard VS going straight into facility door and chicks DO DIE! Maybe you’ve been lucky (if your not lying bc u clearly make money off the dummy’s ordering them via mail) but I Promise everybody that Many Die Regularly. Far as I’m concerned this is animal cruelty and the only reason I can imagine that usps is the only “allowed or contracted to” be able to do this is because it’s Fed Gov & ad we all know the Gov is Greedy. I encourage people NOT to order by mail and go to your local farms. I’d like to add I’m not supposed to take any animal up front, I break the rules but assume I’m the only one I know that does do this.

I've been hatching my own meat birds for 20+ years. I earn a living by selling poultry meat, NOT chicks. Chick sellers don't select to the same standard as meat sellers. At 10 weeks I make my first cull. I remove all larger roosters that don't move smoothly, have questionable feet, or have a dirty vent area. They go to market At 12 weeks, I put aside largest hens and roosters that move smoothly, have sound feet, and have clean vent area. I process the rest for market Of the birds preselected, I weigh, assess carcass structure, and determine best fleshing. The best go into a breeding pen, the rest are processed. Selection process culls over 90%, and with proper selection, such a selection rate helps preserve vigour and the quality of the culls. Yes, this is the critical detail of a meat vendor. A meat vendor is focussed on producing breeding culls that are profitable to raise and sell. We don't eat feathers, combs, and skin colour does not impact flavour. This is important to always keep in mind. While there is a benefit to a breed standard, and a benefit to using it as a guide in selections to avoid drift, it's always useful to remember which traits earn a profit and which don't.

Really admirable the way you and the boys converse while working. They are learning so much from you about the farm but most importantly about father and son trust and relationships. Happy fourth of July bud,here in lower Texas ,there was no one popping fireworks,first time in 30 yrs ,that maybe one kid used a couple of roman candles and that was it.Very quite 4th in my part of town.

My 25 American Bresse from Recreational Homestead are the very best chickens I have ever had. They are growing faster than I ever imagined and the quality of each bird supersedes any meat bird or dual purpose bird ever. RH offers a great product, no doubt about it. Thank you again....my birds are 8 weeks old now and I am enjoying them so very much. Funny when the young roosters try to crow at this age....

My 11 American Breese chickens 2 hens and 9 roosters are now 11 weeks old. I'm excited to raise more as my hens start laying. The flock come running when they see me outdoors. 😊❤such a joy to raising them. Thanks so much for sharing your video.

I have a well over due meat bird that my wife refuses to let me butcher. Any negative effects being over 10lbs? Not for sale just personal. Wondering on meat quality mostly

How would you cook parted Breese chickens (breasts, thighs,etc)?

The volume is all over the place. Goes from normal to screaming to barely being able to hear anything. I have my speakers almost all the way up in the quite parts. I can't watch/listen to the rest.

We raise American bresse and love them. We finish them the same way. Great homestead bird.

Mine were 14 weeks yesterday and I am going to start to decide who my breeders will be and who will be going to freezer camp in about 7 weeks!!!!
