    Thought this was gonna be easy, 2 of the 3 bolts came out easy, the 3rd one (16mm) came out about one cm and is now completely seized wont go back or come out and I feel that its gonna snap, so I bit the bullet and bought an impact wrench, so lets see if that works, otherwise I might have to drop the subframe if that bolt snaps to replace that one bracket.

      @@NathansLife if you have access to a blow torch, get some heat on the bolt. Once it's hot, work the bolt in and out, screw out a bit, then back in a bit until you work it all the way out. It will probably bring the thread out with it unfortunately. If so, you should be able to use a helicoil to repair the thread without subframe removal. This problem is relatively common.

    this is a GREAT helmet, by far the MOST COMFORTABLE and sound-dampening I have owned. I've had one for more than 5 years, I am now replacing it for an identical one. The reason why I am changing it is because the visor was starting to become hazy and the transparent coating was peeling off. The price for a new visor is too high. Since the interior was starting to deteriorate too, I decided to spend 270$ for anew helmet, rather than 110$ on a visor alone

Although I contacted Shark directly and they sent a replacement even though it was out of warranty ! Great service from them. So why not just mark the cam gears and not use the special tool?

    • @AJB1
      @AJB1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because the gears aren't splined onto the camshafts. So once you remove the gears from the shaft, you need to have locked the shaft to get the gears back in the right place. The marks here are being used to mark where the cams need to be for the tool to go in. I believe the correct procedure for changing the belt is to lock the camshafts, and loosen the gears from the shafts, retightening them once the new belt is in place. My guess is that that's to ensure exactly the right timing if the new belt has a very slightly different tooth pitch to the original. My old 2002 Skoda's ALH 1.9 diesel had the same on the injector pump, and the injection timing was slightly out of spec after a main dealer changed the belt without ever loosening the pump sprocket, so I think it must make some difference assuming that engine's timing was correct from the factory on the factory belt. By not having splines and setting the timing this way in the factory instead of marks on the gears, it also lets them cancel out any differences in deck height, head gasket thickness, etc, which could otherwise slightly affect timing.

    I came here to see an easy way to do the disc replacement. This appears to be a standard way to do it, no problem with that. However, if a layperson doesn't have access to VCDS/VAGcom or similar, can the E parking brake be put into the service position or not? All this shows is how a dealer with £2000 worth of diagnostics can replace the brake disc, not a competent person on their driveway......

    • @gsoup7850
      @gsoup7850 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the feedback. You could take the motors off of the Calipers and wind them back manually, think it may be a T45. I've heard of people unplugging the motor and giving it a live and earth. Best way is to buy a scan tool that has the capability. There are people on Gumtree UK etc that sell Chinese versions of the industry leading software already loaded onto a tablet or laptop with the OBD interface included for £200 to £300. Skoda main dealer will charge you around £300 for this job, so can be a good investment.
