@Ekajeebadmi Yeah every now and then. Keeps skills sharp. The MD I flew, school house scorched us for taking our hands off the throttles under 10,000. What about you?
@@paulnobleii4239 I stand corrected. Thanks for letting me know. I am a believer in keeping my hand on the throttle, but I thought you were being a little too harsh lol. I shouldn't be talking. I don't have an ATP yet lol.
XFerretz, do you mean the PFD (primary flight display)? The PFD's look normal and steady to the pilots. However, for whatever reason, they appear to be flashing when viewed through a camera.
AA's fleet of "super 80"s only included the DC-9-81, -82, and -83. One must note that DL's MD-88 aircraft carry DC-9-83 registration. Delta's "-88" designation, primarily, refers to the upgraded avionics, as ordered by Delta for its DC-9-83 order.
1:11 oooooo love that gear noises
Definitely one of my top 5 favorite YT videos.
sigh, the days of the maddog
Ahh...the good ole MD-80! Great airplane!
@0:48: PUT YOUR HAND BACK ON THAT DAMN THROTTLE. WHATS WRONG WITH YOU????
The Autothrottle is on. They switch it off around 2:15
Armchair pilot much, Paul?

Fellow armchair pilot here also. I have talked to pilots though and they obviously keep their hands on the throttles. I do the same in the sim.
Here’s my top pic of this great airplane: flightaware.com/photos/view/7080881-aafd06759bcc95e5c4d7335cde11accbdac563f8/user/peb88/sort/date/page/1
What this a ferry or maintenance check flight? Maybe the camera guy was a mechanic.

is nobody going to mention the ADI having a stoke?

@@DrSeuss-rt2ou The flashing is a result of the refresh rate of the camera
Amazing! Very luck
talk about turbulance
I love flying this plane in X-Plane.
Also my favourite plane in x plane, have only v9 and so only fly cabidgeworms and x plane freeware md82
How is it that the Captain is out of uniform wearing a blue polo shirt?
Nathan Greve a 9xxx flight number is a ferry flight (flight with no passengers)
Jacob M Ah! Thanks
Delta's MD fleet must be getting pretty old. They haven't been made since the late 90s.
habyss yeah, but look at it this way, md80s, are a variant of the dc9 which were made in the 60s, and delta stopped flying them in 2014 I believe.
The MD88s are gonna be retired soon unfortunately. However the 90 and 717 will be here for awhile.

How did you score a jumpseat?
he must be a pilot, on a flight to his flight
yea but who wants to deadhead in an MD80 lumpseat lol
Me
lol same but I heard the jumpseat on the mad dog is trash
It looks it. It is really really small plus there is no leg room since the seat is attached to the little walls next to the door.
