Cootacraft Bad Boy Update 2, Shakedown Test and More!
มุมมอง 5185 หลายเดือนก่อน
The revival and overhaul of the Cootacraft Bad Boy is nearing the end. Today we go through a few of the changes to improve the grip of the engine and the boats riding performance. We know that during the first test in the rough the engine is a bit high and there was some cavitation on the turns. Not to worry, we are well on the path to set this up to be a beast!

It’s winter here in Melbourne Australia so perfect timing to upgrade the boat. A long time journey for me in saving and deciding how best to upgrade the boat and have a vessel that can still manage all the short and shallow trips I do but also go further into the deep blow in search of the larger bill fish and creature of the deep! Enjoy a short update of the boat I purchased and the work that ...

If you ever need to strip hundreds or even a thousand meters of fishing line off a big game reel then here is a nice easy way to do it at home using a basic drill. All you need is a fast drill, a small or large angle grinder handle, some masking tape and some line clippers. Ensure the handle is secured very well in the drill chuck, start slow and even have someone call out when the line is almo...

Salt Away - Salt Attack Extra Large Outboard Engine Flush Bag
มุมมอง 6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
If you are like me, you want to be pretty thorough when it comes to flushing your outboard engine on occasion. For some engines, extended running on flush muffs is not advisable and if you own a current year model V6 Yamaha, then without taping over fetters inlets on the lower leg then you cannot use flush muffs. This is where an outboard flush engine comes into its own. Sure you can construct ...
How to Keep Your Boat Exterior Looking Like New

I often get asked to what products I use to keep my boat looking brand new. The great thing is gel coat can be restored back to a very high standard even if your boat isn’t new or looking a bit old and tired. Having not been in the boat for a while I decided to head out in Port Phillip Bay and show you what night time soundings can look like in still, little to no tide conditions. You will see more than usual and this is a good lesson on adjusting your gain. So I hope you find this video of some use. ...

Understanding Jig Types and Rigging Jigs
Thanks for the insight in to SIMRAD. Ive have Simrad sounder in my Barra boat up here in the NT for quite sometime as I wanted more clarity over everything else. I Purchase a couple of years back a Simrad Evo 3 16 inch to upgrade the old Evo 2. With EXTRA WARRENTY. I would put in in my car religiously during travel given what they cost then fit it to the boat at the ramp. 12 months before the warranty ran out , it had something rattling around in the Sounder housing so took it back in to the place of purchase. I had a call from the place of purchase, and there reply to me was that NAVIONCS DO NOT REPAIR SOUNDERS UNDER WARRENTY BUT OFFER A REPLACEMENT AT A FEE ! That Fee is $4000 dollars ! THIS IS NOT WARRENTY ! Future Purchases be aware as NAVIONICS WILL RIP YOU OFF IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG WITH YOUR SOUNDER UNDER WARRENTY AND NOT REPAIR IT BUT OFFER YOU A NEW ONE WITH MONEY FROM YOUR POCKET ! That's FACT plain and simple from here in the NT and I will NEVER EVER purchase anothor Sounder from Lowrance or Simrad who Manufacture these two sounders to be ripped off like this. Food for thought for Anyone watching and absolutely nothing against your video mate, BUT this is the full truth of what they are doing to Customers buying Sounders from them so every one is Clear before looking at a Purchase.
Just flicking through vids of the Melbourne boat show, did I see a glimpse of your boat on display? Sure as hell looked like it 🤔
Well done boyz!!! I really loved the T Curve amazing rod
@@twostevensinau cheers mate
Any Cootacraft update 🤔
@@jb243wp soon mate. Has been a long process but a very rewarding one. The next update will be a full rundown all professionally filmed so might be a little while.
Ben is a legend! Dare I say an enigma! Well done Justin and Ben! I also use Deep Blue gear - it is seriously top quality! Also, you will know the Red Barron by the red aircraft he flys!
Thank you so much, looking forward to showing more episodes soon!
Bad boy update?
Coming real soon - pick it up tomorrow.
Thanks for the info!
👍
I can produce jig bait, do you need it?
Are you purchasing a jack plate? If so what brand are you getting?
Yes mate all ordered. Going with a Bobs Machine Shop fixed 8 inch, or a 6 if we can make it work.
Looking good mate. Yeah I feel like the setback will help the blow out. You may end up at the same height as you are at now. with a few inches set back it's like going down a hole in height.
Yes an 8 inch setback needs to be offset with 1.5 inches of additional lift. The benefit is not only the clearer water and tight height, but also brining the nose down a touch.
Hope it works out mate. The carbon looks bad ass.
@@Pointless-fishing-adventures cheer brother
Nice look vessel you got there, been think about downsizing to around the same size.. Just subscribed to your channel as I want to follow your progress and updates on Reel Bad, 👍 👍. Do the Tassie boys that have you old boat have a TH-cam channel?
Hey, nah don’t believe they have a YT Channel. More updates coming soon.
Hey Justin, was the engine retuned? asking due to the 95 octane sticker on the back
Hey mate no it has not been tuned as yet but as soon as I’m through the full tank of current fuel it will be. That being said, all yam F300’s state in the manual min 94 Ron so should be on 95 anyhow.
Perfect size boat for game fishing
Yes cannot wait to target some bigger fish!
Well done mate!!! NICE BOAT!!
Thanks mate.
Awesome Justin. Would love to come out with you one day.
Cheers mate!
fast jigging use spinning rod ( better action : you can use the motion of the rod up and down to reel and that will make your jig slide perfectly + reaching the bottom quicker then over heads + gear ratio doesnt mean higher line retrieve what means that is in per turn so over heads have higher gear ratio but not higher line retrieve then spinning real except when you have large spool + fun : spinning reels are more fun fighting the fish not like you will use your rod to pump and then real of the slack with your spinner + drag : spinning real drag is mostly far more better then over heads) . slow jigging use over head ( better action : the main thing in slow jigging is slow sinking opposite of fast jigging and thats easily achievable with over heads because you can control the tension of your free spool giving that neat slow sink flutter + fighting the fish: its easier to fight a fish with over heads because you cant pump that far most of slow rods are not designed to fight fish but they are meant for slow jig action meaning you are going to fight the fish with the reel and thats actually good if you are tired or you need to get the fish up as quick as you can and you dont need drag that much + more line using over head means you can pack more line then spinner and that very good if you want to do deep sea fishing up to 500m and more + durability over heads can take more load then spinning reels and have less stuff to break) . over all you choose what you like you can use both of both its your call . and when it comes to jigs : fast jigs are symmetrical doesnt matter if its a butterfly or knife jig as long as both sides are symmetrical which make them move faster and feel lighter in the water but it takes hell of moving them fast to make the action work (depending on there design even in fast jigging some jigs are slower then others) . slow jigs are not symmetrical doesnt matter if its long short fast skinny if it doesnt have the same curves and lines in both sides its not symmetrical aka its a slow jig and its easier to work then fast ones because of the slow lifts and retrieves(depending on there design even in slow jigging some jigs are faster then others). both are good and effective fast jigs when your chasing fast fish or when the fish are active slow jigs the opposite .
@justyouraveragefishos Thanks for vid, very informative! Curious to know what tools are used in working with the small split rings as I don't have the fingernails for that lol, any details you have would be appreciated, thanks!
Ahhh split ring pliers, found it, thanks
This video just cost me $1200 ,thanks Peter 😂

Hi. Evo3S and TM275LHW: Which colour port at rear for the HF? Which colour port at rear for the LF? Cameron
snaps no good then? For a quick lure change?
every time I listen to Peter Pakula I am entranced! it is a great source of knowledge for all anglers
Hi. I have just received my new boat with 2 x 9” EVO 3S MFDs networked via NMEA 2K. I have the 3/1 Ducer and TM275LHW Ducer installed. My plan is to eventually head out offshore, but for now just learning how to use the setup in PPB. What chirp range is best for PPB with the 275 Ducer? How to ensure I have defined properly both ducers on the networked setup? I have horizontal lines showing up on the MFD for the 275 Ducer screen when at rest but ok when underway. Possible causes of this? Cameron
Hey mate watched ur vid good info my nss12 seems to not be leaving a track I most likely messed with a setting how can I fix it cheers
What difference between jigs and lures ?
Superglue goes ok on knots.
Thanks for the great information. Great content 👍
Fantastic tutorial Justin, Pete and Chris. Thanks so much from NZ
Wow 🔥🔥🔥
Great video, thank you for your explanation on settings, learnt something from this 👍🏽
Glad it was helpful!
They look like Sydney whiting hooks
excellent information. well done
Thank you!
hmm I''m still deciding on a pear shape ring or the 8 ring..
Don’t think it really matters, just use what you are happy with.
Thanks my brother
No problem
How do you find these when the are live...
Hi mate where can you purchase these
Just google salt away or salt attack engine flush bags.
Is the flush port just as good or not because it dosnt open the thermostat
@@ktmdays the fish port works fine and is designed by Yamaha to flush the whole system despite everyone thinking it’s no good because the thermostat is closed. If you run on muffs you risk melting the plastic impeller housing as not enough heat is taken away from the gearbox. Running on cold tap water prevents the thermostat opening so I use the flush port most times and then if it hasn’t had a run for a while I use the bag.
Wonderful
Thank you
Patto!!! My Ramp, and I might even have been driving that Frankston train!! Awesome video mate. Love the SIMRAD gear.
Cool, thanks!
For depths 30-50 meters, is good jigs 80-100 gramms?
Depending on current rate really. General rule of thumb is 1-2 grams per meter of depth but in high current you will need lots more.
Good info pal, thanks
No problem 👍
Such a fantastic interview ! I watched it live and loved it 👍
Cheers mate
Brother how to get this lure? please tell me it is possible send to Bangladesh.I need some jig lure

Great show today (episode 1). What do you mean when you say "wind with tide" and also when does the tide run the fastest? Is it after the turn of the tide, before the turn of the
tide or mid tide (in between high and low tide)?
Wind with tide means that the tide flow is moving with the wind direction. For example, if you are fishing a southerly breeze, ideally you would want a tide current flow that is also southerly in direction so the boat sits nice as do your lines when cast out. If you have them against each other it can make the boat sway or not sit right, mucking up the position of your lines.
Mid tide refers to the mid point of the tide time before slack water.
