Can I beat my PB of 1:22:08? On October 1st I ran The Great Scottish Run, a half marathon around the centre of Glasgow. It was a good course, good support, good water stations. Overall nice event. Check out the route on Strava and give me a follow - rb.gy/8wldg

Good for you! Brilliant. I live close to Caldbeck. Wonderful to see people enjoying Cumbria and the Lakes. Thanks for documenting and posting Tremendous effort
Great video. Great work on completing it - a good old distance. Thanks for sharing the experience 😊👍🏼
Did this in 2019 - similar weather! What application do you use to draw your 'dotted lines' over the satellite view?
@@tightropetomg I made the maps in After Effects :)
Good video, but you've not really captured just how bad the weather was on the Helvellyn Ridge and on Fairfield/Hart Crag
@@MickLangton Yeah Helvellyn was pretty rough, tricky to film. Was pretty good for me on Fairfield though.
I'm not at all surprised but that was class mate
@@jackswindlehurst8108 thanks man! :)
Glad to have stumbled on your channel - hope to one day run in the lake district! Cheers from 🇧🇪
brilliant video mate loving the map graphic, need something similar for my vids, how did you do it?
Cheers man! I made it in After Effects using map screen shots stitched together. I made some clouds to add a bit of depth and created the path using a shape layer.
@ nice one thanks mate, I’ll try the same :) 👌🏻 you still planning a Bob for next year?
@@lakelandtrailrunner Yeah hoping to do it spring / early summer :)
@@r.p.f1198 nice one man 👌🏻
Great video, it was a tough day out there. I came in not long after you, those muddy trails after Finsthwaite was hard going.
Great video! Massive Kudos on getting through that
Great video, although it needed more of "Fez" 😀 Its the only LiAD vid I've seen this year, well done for putting it together, very well edited - especially loved the top down satellite map with path outline. Weather-wise, it was far from the worst LiAD I've done, ok maybe a tad breezy in places.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah I’ve seen some other LiAD videos from previous years and the weather did look pretty awful.
Great video indeed! I also made one on this years’ edition, it was my first ultra and it was not what I expected💀
@@AmateurPedaleur ah looks like you managed a good time though! Well done man!
Thumbs up purely for going in the river. Good effort lads 👏
Hi, were there many vegan options re food?
They were some, not as much as I’d like.
Unlucky, maybe next time!!
I love how calm you are throughout everything even the pukies - well done! It's people like you that inspire me to keep going even if I'm not running the same distance. <3
Aw that’s nice! :)
Hey man, enjoying the vids. You still looking to do the attempt? When you looking at giving it a crack?
Hey, thanks man! Yeah still planning on it. I’ve been injured since Feb, so working my way back to base fitness to start building it up to Bob fitness again. Hopefully aiming for a mid/later summer attempt but nothing confirmed yet.
Good luck on your BG attempt. Hope the ankle is good. Best wishes.
Nice video.. Didn’t even know Grizdale did a marathon! Have visited a few times, not realised, but unfortunately it’s just too far away from home to do 😕 I also remember the roads to get to and from Grizdale (from Keswick direction) are quite tight, and never my most relaxing drives. Perhaps one day. .. how was the parking?
Parking was good yeah, pretty efficient.
Your sister is a head turner 😏 IG please? 🤙
Well, that was wonderful!
Great watch! Really enjoy following your running and an insight into your mindset!
Totally agree about the best bits of a race. The faff to get there and get started is not the best
Certainly a scenic one 👌
Enjoyed that mate! Like your style and you earned a sub with that backwards dive off the pier!
No PB for you but about 6 minutes faster than my 5K PB!!!
Well done, I ran this as well, fourth time. The second loop is always the better of the two, a bit more secluded and your generally on your own!
Ohhhh when’s your Bg planned for? Need a mule? I know section 2 and 5 very well. Happy to carry your snacks ❤
Ideally May..but nursing an injury at the moment so might have to do it later on in the summer. Yeah always looking for pacers! Give me a follow on Strava and I'll drop you a message. If you have Strava. Let me know if not!
Congrats, well done! Pushing through the bad patch really does make it sweeter in the end. And give you more to process. Congrats again!
Great videos. Subbed and followed on Strava 👍🏽
Fantastic effort bud. I’ve got the arc 50 in January. My first 50 miler
Best wishes with this. Big one.
Cheers!
Great film, looking forward to your next recce. Definitely a long way down Blencathra, Halls fell is great fun, just very slippery in the wet.
I've supported 1st leg loads of times and can't remember never falling in that water 😂😂
😂
Fair play! Making it look easy
Congrats on the good run, still don’t understand why people use gels. I’m convinced there the main reason for sickness on these long events.
Thanks! Yeah could be, I think I need more real food for these long runs.
Excellent running. Cutting it fine with the PB but they all count! 👍🏻🏃♂️
Smashing those PBs out the park! Nice work :)
Great effort up there.
Great to see a fellow runner repping the Green & Black vest 💚🖤
Great stuff again mate
Thanks man! :)
Thank you for sharing, I now know a little bit more about the event.
No worries! Glad it’s useful :)
yes mate! look forward to seeing how you get on whenever the day comes.
Good effort bud👍
You're *almost* convincing me to start running! This is epic, loving this series pal xx
Great video! Hope the ankle is alright
That is impressive matey! I'm tired watching it whilst I eat my sandwich ;-)
Really enjoying these mate, and great to see you running with Paul! Hopefully see you soon
Ah good! Yeah hopefully catch you soon :)
Great video mate👌🏻 by far the best leg imo :) when are you planning on your attempt? Spring?
Thanks man! Late spring early summer potentially, just gonna see how training goes.
@@Dont_worry_running nice one man, I’m thinking the same tho I’m toying with the idea of a winter attempt. Good luck with it, hope the training goes well 🤘🏻
5 hr drive from Bristol to the lakes for some great running over the BG route is well worth the drive
Definitely!
Nicely edited vid mate. Looking to do the same next year sometime 👌
Cheers man! Been enjoying your films as well. Really like the way you grade them. Yeah I’m hoping to do it next year. Let me know if you need a pacer on some legs!
@@Dont_worry_running nice one man will do 👌🏻
@@Dont_worry_running incidentally on the grading.. not sure if you use the same but I’m editing with Davinci resolve.. loads of grading vids in here for it. Good luck with the channel 🤘🏻
@@lakelandtrailrunnerah nice! I’m in Premiere and Ae. You shooting on a Go Pro? 10bit?
Well done. Nice video’s giving a reasonable idea of what’s involved in a BG.
Thanks!
Great to see! Very motivated to get up to the lakes for some running
