Straight Line Mission Across Winter Finland - Route Review | Mohavi Originals

Absolutely great job. At the same time of your challenge in January 2021 my region (Madrid) experienced a huge snow storm, seeing people using skis on the streets was so strange.
I like the idea of holding shorter straight line runs to stricter off-line tolerances. Like instead of a line being platinum for being 25m deviation and under, make it some proportion of total line length, like a platinum run means less than 0.1% line deviation, so a 30km line with 0.1% line deviation would permit 30m for a platinum run. But a 3km straight line would only permit 3m deviation for a platinum run.
Jaahas tähän oli hyvä! Laittakaa toinen tulemaan 😁
I added this video to a list of various straight line missions that I could find on TH-cam. th-cam.com/video/QC-0M-AA58Y/w-d-xo.html Also, here is a straight line mission I did recently. th-cam.com/video/CN0A1nYxyJs/w-d-xo.html
At 5 minutes you make an interesting remark. @GeoWizard talks a lot about line purity, and makes a point not going around bushes to get an easier route but sticking to the path no matter what foliage lies in front of you. But in the dense forests of Finland the problem is not the undergrowth because there is very little of that. Instead, you can't "stay" on the line because of the poor gps reception.
Dang nice vid
Great attempt! Very entertainign video!
Damn I'm from Lempäälä too! Cool to see it represented in such a novel trend as the straight line challenge. Don't know if you know or remember but I was one of the guys who walked from Lempäälä to Helsinki, some 180km in total, a couple of years ago sleeping in a tent along the way, it was a minor piece in LVS back then. I'm glad this sort of outdoorsy type challenge stuff is becoming more trendy. They are hard, but healthy and rewarding!
This was great! Hope to see another One in the Summer!
This was very interesting to watch. Way to go, guys. You earned a sub
yoo you 2 are so wholesome ^^
Get in!
Hi guys! Great video, such high quality in the editing and story telling and i really enjoyed the map and the animation when you showed your progress. Also the condition were extreme but it was inspirational to watch two god friends chose to star a mission like this and made it that far. Cheers from italy!
Wtf such a high production quality and only so few subs??? Subbed!
I think it's the accents unfortunately, like people will just click on the video but turn off when they hear them.
I like how you say "to be honest" like that Englishman :)
Commenting for Algo. 👍
Great intro, looking forward to the whole video. Proud to be one of your first 150 subscribers! 👍
Great video! And I love the choice of music!!
I have been thinking about this, crossing Finland in a straight line (in summer of course). It would probably take a week or even more, but not impossible.
Would love to see this. Be prepared for mosquitos and lakes if you do this
Kesällä viidessä tunnissa perille saakka?
> twh you like geowizard but live in Brazil. I guess Distrito Federal folks may be able to cross that in a straight line
Hyvää duunia :D
Can you tell me what cameras were used for this?
Holy crap guys! I was thinking a Finland line would be great and here you are! These are a lot harder than people think it'd seem. Keep up the good work!
I'm waiting for Tom to upload his [3rd] final attempt at Wales and found your attempt. Thanks for the entertainment
Aren't these just the bees knees? A challenge in one's own backyard
Very satisfying to see this done in Finland, looking forward to the next try!
Nice vid! Snowy finland is such an epic and unique environment to try this challenge in. Well done on making it so far as well. Fancy doing a collab crossing Russia in a straight line? :)
Wait a Minute...you are the guy who crossed Luxembourg...Right? Big fan of Geo Wizard too!
Amazing production quality my dudes
Doing this in the winter might not be that bad of an idea, as long as you're crossing flat terrain. There are less overgrown plants to get through, and smaller possibility of meeting angry farmers.
@@mithrandirthegrey7644 doesn't apply to farmland and house lawns etc. It's mainly about privately owned forests, where we're free to roam as long as we don't cause disturbance and leave it just as it was before we arrived. One thing though which might come as an advantage: norderners are very afraid of conflict. They will avoid it at all costs (only exception is after a few beers). If you trespass and the land owners notice, they'll very unlikely stop you if you explain what you're doing (unlike some scottish farmers). They'll probably just laugh at it and let you pass through.
You predicted GWs GPS issue by 9 months!
Great attempt! You guys are crazy to do it in winter:D And Tom also ran out of batteries in his last video across Wales, so even old-timers can have these kind of problems. I'm dreaming about crossing my country in a straight line one day too, but hopefully in summer
Was wondering when this thing would go from geowizard to a sport in it's own right. Seems to be starting up this year.
well done
Good effort boys! What was the music you used during the film? All the best!
Good shit lads, looking forward for future videos!
Yes! We need more straight line mission channels!
Man, it is nice to see something like this shot on decent gear... *cough* 4:3 Tom *cough* Nice job with this, lovely feel to it.
Thank you! It's not always the gear that matters, but the story and emotions instead! GeoWizard is still top class at that.
@@mohavicreative6584 yeah I know but I’m a biased AV tech ;-) Tom’s are great, everything’s so epic.
Great first attemp. Would love to see many more missions.
Damn only 40 subs! I'll make that 41. Love from the uk
Great job! My father's family fled the steppes of Russia during the revolution and homesteaded in northern Ontario. He always told me how thankful he was for the help that they got from the Finns living there. The Finns were much better adapted to life in the boreal forest and taught our people a lot!
@@mithrandirthegrey7644 he said they fled from the steppes .-.
@@8bitgubben thnx
Hämmästys oli suuri kun näin otsikon feedissäni. propsit teille
how do you only have 31 subs?! great content, keep up the good work, cant wait for the next attempt!
I'm watching this in class right now with a terrible VPN but this looks super well produced, can't wait to get home and watch it. You definitely deserve more subscribers
Great video! You deserve way more views
Thank you, appreciate it! 😊
Hi, I love GeoWizard too. I recently attempted a straight line mission across a botanic garden in Ukraine, but I picked literally the worst time of the year to do this, so I failed. I think I'll try it again sometime. Good luck on your next straight line mission!
Thanks Artem! You always learn from failures as well, just like we did. Good luck on your next attempt!
Hey, what botanic garden was that?
@@EWEasternWind In Kyiv, just succesfully crossed it this month.
Well done guys
Great production, make sure to share it so people see it
Really well done guys! Brilliant work! Hope to see you complete it next time!
Thanks Chris! Let's see if we have the time later this summer!
5 asteen tarkkuudella samassa.
Looks like so much fun! Wish you all the luck in realizing this game project!
