This is a mix of New Beat music. New Beat developed in Belgium in the late 1980s, especially in 1987 and 1988. I'm not a DJ, I did the mix just for listening and enjoying this style of electronic dance music. It was not done for commercial purposes. DJ Uwe hatte es Ende 1991 geschafft, sich als Neuling im Berliner Tresor zu etablieren, damals keine Selbstverständlichkeit. Später legte er auch im Bunker und Walfisch auf. Das Set aus Marushas Dancehall ist aus der Sendung vom 29.02.1992. Mitschnitt aus Marushas Dancehall-Sendung von DT64, wahrscheinlich Ende 1991 oder Anfang 1992. Auch wenn Marusha und Tanith nicht gerade beste Freunde waren, war er doch immer wieder in der Sendung zu hören. Die Tracks sind, soweit ich sie erkenne, überwiegend von 1991. I grew up in Phoenix Arizona, USA, and I went to a party in the '80s that played this music, and have wondered ever since then what it was. I finally found it after decades of researching '80s dance music. The clubs I went to played some of it, it Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, S'Express, but I didn't know the genre. Thank you for this mix.

Hearing my older sister playing these tunes back in the late 80s is what got me into music at 10, 11 years old. Thanks for this awesome mix! It has so many of those tracks from back then and they still feel just a good.

So glad the main advent of electronic dance music happened to me and in my youth. Love/d New Beat. Bought a lot on vinyl and cassette. Streaming has given me access to all tracks I loved at the time.
