small gators aren't as scary in a canoe
We found a few small gators and loads of birds on this trip. You can rent kayaks and canoes at Blue Springs State Park in Florida year-round. We paddled here in early October and weren't lucky enough to see manatees but we also paddled mid-day when they're foraging for food. Manatee season is over the winter for best chances, but Blue Springs still provides loads of wildlife otherwise.

I had a few long days working on a research project with others, and my social battery was burnt out. I decided to go on a little walk that turned into 6km of hiking at midnight. I watched the sun turn the mountains pink and touched the cold snowmelt rivers. By the end I was so happy that I couldn't help but want to run and jump. My camera died so I didn't get to record everything I wanted to, ...

I applied for the University Centre of westfjords. Is it normal for the application to be stuck on "application received"? And also did you get jobs there?
Hi there, yes that’s normal. Everything moves slower in Iceland :) they have rolling admissions but I’m sure they will get back to you by the end of the month. I know that the admissions people meet at the end of each month. Jobs are easy to come by as long as you want to work. Pay is good too
Ohhh no wonder. The website did say May 15th for admissions anyway. I can't wait to be there. I love how quiet everything is from your videos. Just what I need
Thank you :) in a world full of chaos we need a little bit of quiet
That's exactly the stage am at now. I need the peace
So during your first year, how many students were with you? I get the feeling the school want students to enroll
Loved living in Rhodanie. It was actually totally renovated in 2000. My room also on the 3rd Floor in the East building was brand new. At the time FMEL put the Americans there and Fallaises. I wish that I could go back to work and live. The stipend hasn’t changed in 20 years which is a little shocking.
That’s wild, thanks for sharing your experience. I always wonder about past students and their experience living in this style of housing haha
@@SolivagantJules I know! I’ve been feeling very nostalgic lately and watching a lot of Lausanne, UNIL, and EPFL content. I was particularly looking for EPFL tours. The campus has changed so much. It was the most amazing time, and maybe the worst in some ways. Some of the exchange students, a professor, and the woman in charge of the bourse was quite mean, actually. And, it was tough adjusting. I should have been more adventurous and made Swiss friends. But, I loved my room in Rhodanie, the environment, the accessibility to everything by train or bus. I would do it all again! I want to go back! You probably missed out on the Manora buffet at Place St. Francois? It was always so good. As were many of the restaurants. We ate a lot though at Chez Mario (best pizza), and my favorite Ma-jong. Santé à toi!
@@NarcFreedom the campus is so beautiful! I remember we had city bikes to use and that was our main mode of transport but they would always end up in Ouchy. I would say I started making Swiss friends toward the end but Rhodanie was all foreign so it was natural to make friends through our housing situation. We almost never ate out, I think maybe three times total, but we had huge dinners and lots of wine. It was the best time and I felt like I had a close community. Too bad I didn’t do a campus tour!!! Maybe I’ll go back someday
Hey there im in the UK and am an activity instructor, i am thinking of trying skiing, if it goes well i have the opportunity to try a ski instructor job in two or three years, have any advice?
Keep an open mind mostly, go to trainings/clinics, ski in your free time to work on yourself, and don't forget why you love the sport
But you didn't ski on the boot to show us what it can do.
Hello What i want to ask what is the chance to get acceptance for master degree inspite of a low gpa 12/20 in this university

Spine protectors like Atomics Live Shield to wear over your base layer are now becoming common.
It’s great for extra protection! I should probably wear one at high speeds ;)
I love it! 3 questions..Did you all have to deal with leaks? Did ya have to add to the rear suspension because of weight? And how the fuck are you all doing that in NC with out A/C?!?
I did not add suspension but it would be smart lol. And we were in the mountains so it was a bit better but just choosing and shady spots and high elevation
I have seen some older units remodeled into lovely units, but I do really like seeing the original interiors when they are in good shape. Nice look really.
Hi! I just randomly came across your video, haha. I’ll be doing CCRD at UW too and I booked a unit at the new student housing complex :)
YAY! Can’t wait to meet you ❤️
Hi just got video now can I have your email address?

Thank you for this, i'm going for the first time soon. Nervous but excited 🙈
Hi, I’m looking at the ultra but torn between the 120 and the 130 but I don’t know. I’m a agressive Freeride skiier competing in competitions I’m 14M 150lbs and 5’11” what would you recommend?
If you’re aggressive and competing, you’re obviously an expert. I would go with the higher flex. You’re probably really strong too, so you can handle it. Kind of like I mentioned in the video, because of the walk mode and hybrid pivot system, they feel softer than a regular alpine boot, so keep that in mind too! Good luck 🌨️
@@SolivagantJules Thanks!

Hope you get to go soon <3

I have a 1970 truck camper. Awesome vintage campers. The vent at the top of the wall above the fridge is a heat vent for when you have the refrigerator running on gas. Think of it as a chimney vent for 🔥 heat. 3 way electric/battery/ propane gas refrigerator have to have two vents in and out. Happy camping 🏕
For the bottoms baselayer or long johns I usually get the full length ones because they are typically cheaper. Then I cut them about 3-4 inches past the knee. I hand sew up the cut edge. I learned to hand sew on YT, my stitches look terrible but it holds.
I definitely have done that too, I have a pair of synthetic patagonia mens bottoms that were full length and wayyyyyy too long for me anyways so I just cut them. Didn't stitch them because they're synthetic and are holding without losing thread. Repairing your own gear and learning how to sew though is such a valuable skill - I fix my friends clothes all the time! Good on you :)
Thanks
Have you heard about Ewool heated vests-gloves and sock covers. 130°F on high (105°F hot tub).
Yeah, a few of my friends like heated socks but otherwise I don’t think I’d use a heated jacket for skiing

How wet do you get? I bought a Canada goose citedel jacket and the Canada goose snow pants, will that be okay for snowboarding/skiing?
I mean that depends on the weather and also what kind of skiing you do. If it’s really coming down, you may have snow pile up while on the lift. You’ll probably stay mostly on groomers so you don’t have to worry about getting in wet and deep powder. Sounds like you have a rad set up. Read the tag to see if it’s all water repellent :)
@@SolivagantJules it’s water resistant but if it gets too wet I don’t want to ruin the down inside the jacket and pants. The documentation is quite blurry when it comes to mentioning how water resistant they are. I know they are meant for snow but water would usually be already ice/snow at -30 Celsius and below. I may need to find an alternative to wear. Do you have any suggestions of brands? Thanks.
@@Spiceysec If money isn't a problem. I would recommend Helly Hansen

Came back to see how you did the lock. Can you explain to me a bit more in detail? Did you use bolts going through to the other side of wall and door?
So sorry for the late response, but yes - the bolts were going through the other side. I hope you have found the solution in the meantime!
