A damned fine driver I think (especially given he has never been on a track before). His Pa would be proud and you can just imagine what interesting thoughts must have been going through his mind as he drove that car. Fascinating video and thanks for sharing !

i would love to try a car like this but with the automatic gear shifting set at 10.000 rpm. I think that shifting distract a lot from the drive. And an automatic gear avoid any engine overspeed.

While this is amazing, what I find even more amazing is the Huracan Performante has a roof and creature comforts. If they stripped that body to the point of this car I'm sure it would put down a solid 6:45 time.

Its horrible driving, hes fighting the wheel like crazy. Hes nervous :p Would be awesome too Seb Loeb doing this, he drives so smooth

this looks like a computer- game/simulation not real life and the record currently is being held by the Pagani Zonda R not this Radical sr8 and the Zonda R is a Production Car too

Add one more gear and no supercar/hypercar would touch the record, regardless of what tire they use

I have certainly seen better driving but of course... he must have been mostly minding to take the millions back to the pits.

manic car, manic driver, his lines, brake and shift points are amazing, the only real bottleneck was the car's 165-170mph top speed limited by the redline and gear, could shave another 10sec just by gearing alone but that would be no longer 'production SR8'

Okay, is this the R8 or R8 LM? Just the header says R8, but descriptions says it is 6:48 lap. I've timed this 3 times on two different stopwatches and each time it was over 6:54 (around 6:54.30). Anyone else see it differently if they time it? R8 does it supposedly in 6:55, so that would make sense at least.
