A quick look at Avocado Oil and Grapeseed Oil, the latest additions to the Bearded Roots Test Kits. Both of these oils are great additions to any beard oil. Grapeseed oil is commonly used to thin other oils to make them absorb better. Fractionated Coconut Oil

Why was fractionated coconut oil the first carrier oil that we added to our DIY Beard Oil Kits? Well, fractionated coconut oil is great for beards, it plays nice with other oils, you can buy it anywhere that sells essential oils, and it's in pretty much everything that has to do with skin or hair. For all of those reasons (and because it's cheap) fractionated coconut oil is the first ingredient...

Wow, I love your recipe and using my toaster oven at 140 for 2 hours was the biggest trick for me compared to using a double boiler.

I know this video is old, but thank you so much!!! I (obviously from my profile pic) do not have a mustache nor a beard, but what I do have is all these tiny, frizzy hairs that absolutely refuse to lie flat. I need to have a professional looking bun or pony tail for my job (military), and I hate how it looks when I have hairs sticking up everywhere! I have tried everything for flyaway hairs and fizzy hair, but my hair just refuses to stay smooth. The only thing that has worked is loads of hairspray and got2b glue, but both are so rough on my hair, causing it to dry out and break more... Mustache wax was the answer! I tried to male my own, but the recipes I found weren't working out. This recipe, and the idea to use a candle warmer (genius!) Were so helpful!!!

I did the same thing on my first pour of candles and of mustache wax. On candles I semi-ruined boots but spent 100 dollars and hours repairing them. On mustache wax I stomached the pain to not ruin my boots at the detriment of my fingers.

I make mustache wax using your recipe and I can't get the rosin to melt. The things I do different is lanolin as the carrier oil and I use a crockpot. Would either of these stop the pine rosin from melting and incorporating?

beautiful beard my friend. Thank you for this little tutorial. I feel silly though that for the past 9 years I have had a decent beard. Only recently started to use some beard oils when I go out. But never thought about wax's. I am starting to get those lose end hairs just going every direction though. All so never thought about a beard brush. I just carry a tiny comb in my back pocket for work to get crumbs out after lunch so I don't look a mess.

I'm glad I watched til the end. He made a good point about the oil needing to be at the bottom. I was, however, a little confused about whether I should put the oven at 130, or 140. But that was cleared up as well. sort of a rollercoaster of information instead of a steady stream. But we survived, and made to our destination. I'll be getting me a can of Green Beard Grooming Co. mustache wax. You know, for the recipe. Actually it's for the can. I already have the recipe.

Serious? Pine Rosin (Kolophonium) Rosin is a so-called contact allergen. This means that touching toilet paper or handkerchiefs containing this substance can cause an allergic reaction on your own skin. This could manifest itself, for example, in reddening of the skin, swelling, wheal formation, extreme itching or burning. Great to put this stuff in Beardwax and sell it to customers who don't know better. NOT!

    • @greenbeardgroomingco.919

The source of the ingredients can have a big impact the consistency. The mustache wax should be firm but still tacky. The beard wax is also firm but easier to scrape up. I’d recommend putting the tin in the oven at 140 degrees and adding a bit more hempseed oil to soften it up. Which recipe did you use?
