The first Doom game didn't start have multiplayer until after release. No one complained back then. So why now?

Doom and Doom 2 were only played on Office and School Networks because that was the only way you could play Doom Multiplayer. It wasn't until DWANGO that Internet multiplayer came to DOOM and at that time DWANGO was a Subscription, a monthly Subscription, combine that with the fact that Most Internet providers were charging Hourly rates for usage back then and you can see that Not a lot of people were playing Doom Multiplayer. In Fact Doom was not popular because of it's Multiplayer it was popular because of it's SINGLEPLAYER. It wasn't until about 1997 that Matchmaking services like MPlayer, TEN, WON, Etc that Doom had an explosion in Multiplayer because more people had access to the internet and those matchmaking services were "mostly" free (there were a few that charged for access still). By that time a little game called "Quake" was making it's rounds and it had built-in Online Multiplayer and most people were playing that Instead of Doom. I'll say it again, Doom was never known for it's Multiplayer, it was known for it's Singleplayer.

Nobody played Multiplayer in Doom Eternal. In fact Nobody talks about Doom Eternal's Multiplayer. So I really don't care that Doom Dark Ages won't have Multiplayer.

I feel like every doom game should come with multiplayer without question. Doom itself is the reason online multiplayer exists after all. Obviously it’s not gonna be the end of the world and I’m still going to play and probably love the game, it just feels like an important thing to have, just my opinion

The Doom community has so little to talk about they dissect mediocre videos with bad points for content, make content on the game instead bc it's not like this guy is gonna change the tide of Idsoftward development bc he thinks this lol. I think the only two things that I have against Marvel Rivals is that u NEED to play it on an SSD or else loading take so long that u are forced into playing a tank or support. And the 2nd bad thing about the game is that its made by a chinese company... Non of these things are bad things for the gameplay. So overall its a good game... Lets not forgett that this game is 50/50 mix between range and melee which is refreshing...

For a fair argument you should bring pros too and talk about how they dont outweight the cons (even tho the cons "The game explainers" brings are stupid as seen in the video): PC doesn't need a seasonal pass to play multiplayer, modding a game is super easy, upgrading a PC can be done slowly without having to buy everything in one go, and even if this may be controversial you can pirate games (which is not always bad, if you can't afford a game you can still play it and contribute to the hype). Having bad ports is something that, as said in the video, is not the community's fault, and they usually voice their discontent with reviews. Having games poorly optimized is also something that is happening and is not the community's fault: high end PCs have the ability to run super heavy games if they are optimized, but given the power of the machine, companies prefere to leave the game halfbacked expecting the expensive components to cover up the poor work. This is something that is going to hit consoles too as they become more powerful, and big companies will want to publish as many games as possible to earn as much as possible.

i think what bothers people is the fact that 90% of protagonists these days are females in games which audience is large majority male. Also the fact that a lot of these games that come out are continuation of male protagonist series and its never the other way around. I am yet to see a game series where the original protagonist was female and they switched to male in second game. Also all of these protagonists are of dangerous ocuppation and we know from real world that dangerous work is being done by men 99% so when devs decide to make that story 1 in a 100 story about a woman in male dominated field 90% of the time its really makes no sense. Like we keep getting these stories of women in male dominated fields like it would be a common thing. I am sorry 99.9% of bounty hunters were/would be male. 99.9% frontline soldiers would male. 99.9% of protagonists of any action oriented game would be male if we were going by how our own world works.
