I absolutely hate everything about northern Virginia. There is no quality of life here. Overpriced unfriendly. People will call cops on you no matter what.

National average is meaningless when talking about cost of living. You should only compare it to the rest of the DMV. I have lived in Annandale for over 12 years. You can find all the box stores you need 15 min away in Bailey's Crossroads. I rarely use them because Amazon can deliver just about anything I need. Don't forget to mention Green Spring Gardens. It is walking distance from my house.

I have driven in 32 states, Virginia has by far the worst drivers. They drive like they are pissed at everyone, their spouse, kids, your kids, their grandmom, their dog, butterflies. And traffic density, just imagine driving 85 MPH in a parking lot, thats their highway experience.

People are mean, selfish and shallow. I stay in on weekends because I can't stand this area anymore. Drivers are something else. I commute to Gainesville where people's entitled attitudes & behaviors are atrocious, I feel so sorry for them. I hate NoVA 😢 crabs-in-a-pot overflow from soulless DC.

Air fresheners do not give people headaches hours after they are sprayed. People give themselves headaches when they find out an air freshener was sprayed. Evidence leads to clear conclusions. Research has been done, it has been peer reviewed, and repeated, and modified methodology and repeated again. People train themselves to get a headache when they smell something that "gives them headaches". Now having said that, there are chemicals that have been used in scent products that should not be. Those are problems, but not commonplace. Scents and air fresheners on the market today when following industrywide safety practices do not cause headaches.

I live in Northern Virginia and this was very accurate. The only thing for me is I mainly shop for groceries at Aldi and spend $600/mo (2 adults with big appetites and a toddler) eating out we spend between $200-$400/mo and I would say we eat out often on the more expensive side.
