A full tour of the Iberostar Playa Pilar resort in Cayo Guillermo Cuba. It is 60 km from Jardines del Rey Airport in Cayo Coco and within minutes from Playa Pilar beach. It is touted as the best beach on Cayo Coco or Cayo Guillermo and one of the best in all of Cuba.

Were you the only tourist at the resort?
Bad resort! All bad, food, alcool, entertainment, rooms and cleanliness!
The beach was disappointing
Is there a discotheca? And the beach looks beautiful ! Is it easy to go to playa pilar?
Hello, There is a discotheca at thr resort. I went during Covid and at the time it was closed. If you are planning on visiting I would recommend asking if they are open now!!
Thanks Mario. I always wanted to check out this hotel and in early spring stayed at the Playa Parisao and it sucked, worst food ever. I think I will try Ibersostar Playa Pilar. Regards

Hey, Mario, You must have strong local connections, otherwise I cannot explain how on Earth, you've got the whole resort just for you. There's hardly anyone else in the video. Were you doing a commercial?
The reason you do not see many people in the video is because I tried to video in the morning or times when there would not be guests around as some do not like to be on video and I respect their privacy especially being that the video is on TH-cam. Thank you for watching!!

Hello, I apologize for the late response. They have wifi which you are supposed to pay for but while I was there they would always give it to us for free. It woks very well there. Thank you for watching!!

I think most of us are aware of the way they live. However, I know many locals and they have been struggling more without many tourists there during the pandemic. They are grateful and very happy to see tourists, especially Canadians as we tend to tip them well and many bring gifts. Thank you so much for watching and your comment!!

That lack of freedom and the consequences of living in communism is what produce the "struggling" in Cuba No sir, tourism is just an analgesic when is surgery and antibiotics what we need. Does anyone know what can of excursions can be done from this resort?
They have all the regular Cuban excursions. However due to Covid the excursions are limited. If you want to visit Havana, there is a plane that takes off from Cayo Coco. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thank you for watching!!

Is there any beach for swimming in front of hotel?
There is a very small beach area in front of hotel. It is the small area you see in the video. However, there is a beautiful beach about 5 minute drive away. Thank you for watching!!

Loved the video I am from Canada and am planning to be back in Cuba next year to celebrate my 50th Birthday but i understand there is a state of unrest in Cuba right now over Resorts getting the food and the Cubans are getting nothing so if things don't calm down we may wait to come down or just look at Mexico or Dominican even though my heart is still in Cuba after my first trip a few years back to Varadero. Are things calming down any do you know? By the way this place looks amazing other then the fact it looks like you have to travel a bit to get to a beach with water access that does not require a boardwalk and a set of stairs to get into the water.

I didn't watch the whole video yet, but is this resort near Playa Pilar beach? Probably a dumb question I know lol but I been to Playa Pilar about 10 times and I seen new resorts being built around the surrounding area. I usually stay at Hotel Tryp and Hotel Playa Coco (just got to hop on a bus and you're on you're way to playa pilar lol)
Hello, it is about a 20 minute walk to the beach from the resort. You can also get there by car and it’s only about a 5 minute drive and well worth it. Hello Jovan, Thank you for your comment. I agree, in Cuba they rate it a 5 star but compared to other 5 star hotels globally it definitely is not a 5 star. Having said that for Cuban standards it is not bad. 😊
at 5:16 in the video, is that Kraft Peanut Butter? I have always brought my own and have never seen a resort carry the product.
