Video Content: The U.S. Marines are trained in Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP), a unique hand-to-hand combat system. MCMAP combines various fighting techniques from disciplines such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, karate, Muay Thai, boxing, and judo. The training covers close-quarters combat, grappling, striking, and the use of weapons in conjunction with martial arts. It focuses on not only physical skills but also mental discipline, moral character, and the ability to respond under high-stress situations. Marines earn different belt levels, from tan to black, depending on their proficiency and experience. This well-rounded approach ensures that Marines can effectively handle diverse combat situations, both armed and unarmed.

Correct. F-15s. Pretty easy to tell the difference! Beyond visual range choose F-15 or F/A-18 Super Hornet. Close-in dogfight choose F-16. 25 of them and 1 of you choose F-22 or combination F-35 and F-15 for targeting and stand-off. 100 of them and 1 of you choose Tom Cruise in a PBY as long as we’re getting stupid about it.

I spent 13 years as a CH47 Flight Engineer in the Army, having ridden the ramp for hundreds of hours and behind my M240, I can tell you, generally we are not very high up, usually along 3k, 5k, 7k feet up, which just over 5k feet is a mile, you can actually see extremely well from that vantage point. CAS with helicopters is extremely effective if you can pinpoint and isolate the enemy, it's very ineffective when they are not isolated, leaving the helicopter very vulnerable if you aren't entirely sure where the enemy is, large enough small arms can do serious damage, then you add RPGs with fuse delays, and or IR/RADAR/LIDAR missles. This video is from their aerial gunnery training looks like a Marine UH1Y Venom, and by the looks at it, and from my experience, this is most likely at the Mojave training site. Notice all the impact craters.

For privacy reasons, I am going to be somewhat vague about the specifics. I am good friends today with a retired Navy Capt who Commanded a Destroyer as well as a Ticonderoga-class Cruiser. We were actually in West Virginia fly fishing one day when I asked him what was some of his regrets from his time on active duty? He told me that was back in the 90s when he had to inform his ISIC of one of his Officers who was not on the ship when they left. This Officer was later found and arrested. The ISIC made the decision to keep said Officer CONUS and the matter would be handled when they got back home. During the deployment, this Officer was released but could not leave the area. There was an Article 32 investigation started and at some point just prior to the ship's return the Officer was charged with violating Article 87 as well as Article 133 for something I am not at liberty to discuss. After telling me about the situation as well as his ISIC's refusal to let him handle it the Officer was given a choice of dismissal after some brig time or GCM. He chose dismissal. That ISIC I understand went on to become a Vice Admiral with a reputation of being somewhat of a martinet. This situation according to my friend did not have to happen. He knew the chances of this Officer ever getting past Commander were slim to none, but he felt like he could rehab him and get a fine Officer in return. I know I may be hijacking this subject matter, but the UCMJ is also being used as a club by 06's and above!

I'm actually amazed that a high-ranking military officer never came up with a plan that was later struck down from the Pentagon but he carried it out anyway by ordering his men to go AWOL and basically do the operation and became successful. We see this type of things happen from time to time. Where other nations military so basically go AWOL carry out the operation where their Nation didn't want to do it and the nation's government is embarrassed because it was a success.
