Can't get mine to connect to computer with an ethernet cable at 5.0. Only connects at 2.4 with an ethernet cable. Can connect to both if I use WiFi. Can it connect at 5.0 using an ethernet cable? If yes, what do I need to change?

I tried the model below this and it was a pain in the ass to install and I could not get the router to handle the QOs. Returned it because the performance was no better than the old Netgear set up.

If you purchase this or any other modem all you need to do is call the company and give them the Mac address on the modem and have them activate it. Activating It sends the internet boot file and it saves you monthly rental fee.

As long as you have coax coming to the house from the pole or underground box. The 3.1 spec is universal all companies comply with the standard. What internet package do you have at home better said what speeds are you paying for?

Yes, you can that, but I don't think you need to that because this modem router it will completely cover your network.
