I wonder if the over correction is due to the heat of compression. Like, you let the tire sit for an hour and the air in the tire cool, if it'd be closer to 15 psi.the relationship between temp and pressure...
@@ITSTotallyTubluar most likely the case. This video is a few years old but I still use this little compressor a good bit. It’s obviously more suited for smaller tires. It’s super handy for trailer tires and stuff like that. I’ve even used it to blow up pool inflatables so I didn’t have to do it myself.
@tims_4x4_garage right on. I'm and hvac guy. Pressure/temperature is a real thing...
Wow it has a cutoff line even tho it’s not a projector? 😮
@@JLamborgini bout as close as you can get to a “cut off” without a projector. As you can tell from the video I needed to adjust them a bit but it shows the difference pretty well. I have a set on my old Jeep in the rectangle flavor
Thanks for the heads up. Looks like Pelican Parts carries the eccentric adapters for Porsche:-)
I installed one of these today and it seems to have solved my intermittent starting problems. Great product.
wow this is genius. I'm glad I found this video before installing my new crank oil seal
Yes. Those look like factory grills. They are available in tan (colour of your door panels), as mine are.
Awesome idea man thank you so much!
@@doomerhumor5479 you’re welcome man have fun out there
Idk sounds like extra weight to me.
@@watermelon2624 less than ten pounds added to a car that had a bit of weight removed from it
Very nice solution. Looks good, After a year are you happy with it?
@@DK-wm9dp the product is holding up well. I drop my ramp in parking areas that have large chunky gravel pretty often and it’s really saving my door skin.
Why
Yup, this was spot on. I just changed the oil on a relative's work truck today and I kept this in mind and the mess was kept to a minimum.
Did it work for you on the trailer? You could also put black ATP at the tip of ramp door. Maybe like 12” x the width of the door and keep the rubber stoppers.
It’s been working pretty well. I drop the ramp on gravel and all kinds of rough surfaces and I think it helps a good bit.
install looks very very clean but... my personal advice switch your cut off to a 150 psi i believe thats what mine is. i think it was like turn on at 135 and cut off at 150. 100 is too low bro just aint enough power. Have at least a 1 to 2.5 gallon air tank. Also make sure its wired into a relay off your accessory wire that way if you forget to turn of your switch it wont drain the battery when the truck aint on. i just bought a ram and pulled my viair 480c with 1 gallon tank before i gave it to them for the trade. Old set up i had was a pretty ugly set up unlike your pretty ass setup. i had it in the bed to protect the compressor.Looking to get it out of the way but also not damage it as well as i plan to do some light 4x4 ing in the truck at times but mostly for towing as well. trying to find a good idea where to put all this stuff. ugh im old and lazy to install this stuff. might run the air filter intake into the bed or somewhere along those lines. its not that easy to install these as simple as it seems really but its not something you do every day to say the least. ugh im such a sissy.
More psi and a tank would be a nice setup. I’ve had a few different on board air setups in the past and they were definitely faster. The best setup I had was the sanden a/c compressor in my xj that I converted to an air compressor. It put out tons of air quickly. I had the same switch you described, 135 psi on, 150 psi off, and it supplied a 5 gallon mini truck tank with multiple ports. One line was regulated to ~90psi to run the ARB lockers and the other lines were full psi. It ran air tools pretty well but air tools are not as convenient as electric tools now. As far as this setup as an air source on my tow rig it is sufficient and reliable. I don’t see the need to change how it is setup because I mostly use it for topping off trailer tires or the ram’s tires. I will let a little air out of the ram when not towing and bump the air back up when towing. I don’t air down the rock crawler but sometimes I need to add a little. It is on a relay, but it is wired so it can be used when the truck is off. It would be easy to wire it for ign if somebody wanted to do that. The only “issue” I ran into is when I installed a decked drawer system in my truck I had to move my air QD in the bed but that was an easy fix. I have had this setup a few years and it’s working well.
@@tims_4x4_garage Ah i see ya i thought you had a tank ya I see y u dont need it just for filling tires but admit its nice to have. its not real difficult to do just like another approx 140 bucks and just a lil more time/space mounting stuff. also need an additional wire with fuse and additional relay and make sure to wire it so that the compressor runs through the pressure regulator switch. i think most ppl do it for an air horn - not me and i think ud need a bigger tank for that. I notice ur push on connectors cant handle past 120 psi either from what i saw. i had been connecting my hose straight to a t off the tank which i had mounted the tank and compressor sideways in the bed between the wheel well and the tail gate. on my new truck i will put it all underneath and i will use the same arb connector but will probably put it coming out next to the license plate but i will try and flush mount it using the internals of a curt 51850 7 pin wiring harness i saw a guy do this online it looks sweet as hell. This way you also use the dust cover from tha which is better and it all looks like a factory install. heres i the link to what im talking of: th-cam.com/video/e_c9GpwxJ0M/w-d-xo.html but im not going to use that push on hose set up i need it to handle 150 psi so ill just use regular air hose with barb and pipe clamp and hope for no leakes lol. not really sure how else to do it. I am thinking to also add another 1 gallon tank later but these tanks only have 4 slots so it means using tons of t's. Kinda tacky better just to use a 2 gallon that already has 6 but we'll see. another mod i wanna do is put one or 2 amazon cheap led rear facing light bars for backing up in the trails at night cuz i cant see anything for crap behind backing up in my rear view camera at night thats always a huge problem for me. I am not sure the legality here in nevada of doing that plus i will likely be in arizona and cali a lot because. I will be sure to just put covers on it while not in use i dont dare wanna deal with getting a ticket over it..... but I had that set up when I had my street legal (partially) utv side by side and it makes backing up while 4x4 at night a breeze being able to see front and rear. i dont plan to do crazy off roading but just to be able to get where i want taking my time. also have a big boat that i tow to lake mead. Its hot here in the southwest desert heat and i dont like to be out in the day time and i am graveyard right now in las vegas. I also wanna be able to get out to the lake to go fishing and see better at say 3:30 am.. im 40 retired hvac 20 years (for now) dont really want to go back to working in the heat might sell my house i bought 2010 paid off a few years later. might move w my girlfriend and to another country or my other house maybe til houses come back down. something along those lines. also wanna get a cover for my ram when not using the sun beat hard out here theyre pretty cheap on amazon.
someone used non stainless steel nuts in the filter i bet. or a hairpin got vacuumed up. look for those. great job.
Hello I have a 1987 944s and my front and rear windshield wipers the water for cleaning the windshield and the radio are not working, I chaged the DME relay recently, do you know what could be the problem??, the fuses are ok I have no idea what could it be because a few months ago all worked properly Thanks hope you can help me
jesus christ.. WHY WHY WHY WOULD U NOT FIRE THEM UP
What are you talking about ?
@tims_4x4_garage he means demo-ing the speakers, playing a couple tracks through them and recording it. Of course youtube and compression won't capture how it sounds, but it's still valuable for getting the gist of it
@@icarusix8750 you’re right. cell phone video wouldn’t capture the true sound, not even close. Also, they’re about the only speaker that will fit so you get what you get. They’re decent speakers.
Clean the grounds! I cleaned the ones under the dash and that solved my hood light not working and the chime sounded weird, not consistent.
Thank you for posting this! Is there a link to purchase these lights? Want to make sure I get the same ones
I got them from Theretrofitsource. I believe they only come in round ones or rectangular ones so you can’t mess it up. You just have to pick the color (cool/warm). I have the warm here and also in rectangular lights on my YJ.
This is sick! Love it!

Where did you get new guards?
Probably pelican parts that’s were I got most of the oem parts
Not a "shadow" but a wear marking as its been eroding in that area thanks to the less than ideally placed return outlet. Essentially look at it like thats the only part of the pool that shows its real color the rest has been mottled with a layer of discoloration over it. Great vid !
This is legit the most helpful 944 video I’ve ever seen 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Hey, so I'm from Wisconsin, and I'm gonna be moving to Augusta Georgia with some buddies for the first part of 2024. And right now, I'm prepping for the trip, and i really want to bring my 944. My car is very rough condition, but I'm hoping I can drive it, but if not, tow it with the main vehicle for plan b if it breaks down. I just wanted to hear what you recommend for me to do a pre trip check / maintenance? Car has been sitting for a few years by the sounds of it.
You just bought the car? Congrats. Not surprised to hear the condition. Some of these cars sat for a long time, typically because they bought the car cheap and drove it until it needed maintenance. Start with the basics does the car run, drive and stop? Absolutely would check the fuel lines. Absolutely would check the timing belt. Check tires. It’s probably going to leak a lot if it sat for a long time and you start driving it. I do not think it’s a difficult car to work on, I enjoyed restoring mine.
Ok, thanks, yeah, I bought the car about a month ago. I ran new rubber fuel lines for now and I'm going to replace rear brake lines. If I do end up taking the car, I'll probably get new tires. I'm going to install new fuel injectors, fuel regulator, and in line fuel guage, short shifter, and other shifter parts from only944. Car came with spare belts, but the ones that are on it look good. And it has a new battery.
@@Viper-zx1eithe only944 shifter kit is a good kit that’s what I had.
Nice idea...will try to use the seam instead
Nice! Good luck! All the tube I used was DOM so no visible seam
The yellow anodized color would prob look better if you did the silver first then the yellow. Cam housing looks great 👍
Just finished my fourth oil change on mine... mess in the cross member for the fourth time. Found your video... What happened to the days when truck manufactures placed the oil filter upside down. Designed to make a mess? Don't want us putting oil in the new filter prior to install to protect the motor? GEESH! Anyway, thanks for the tip brother!
No mess next time at least. What filter are you using? I’ve had best luck with the wix 57060xp
@@tims_4x4_garage I just switched to the Wix 57060xp. I bought a package of two of them for less than the price of one Mopar. HA. I also switched to Amsoil. I bought 14 quarts and their "preferred customer" plan and it wasn't too much more than other oils. I want to see if my engine sounds the same after 4000 miles (my oil change interval) as it does with Pennzoil.
So it’s okay to have this much smoke? Mine does this
Not smoke just condensation. If it was smoke I would be concerned about piston rings
What antenna did you use on your hatch?
It was a 968 antenna. As you probably know, the embedded windshield antenna in the 944 is junk.
@@tims_4x4_garage Mine is an early car and has the fender antenna which looks pretty silly. The 968 antenna I have always thought was sexy though.
Very clear and informative, thank you! I have an '86 NA and will be making this deletion today.
Hey this turned out great, Im going to to the same. Did you put down a primer or a clear coat to finish? and how is it holding up? Thanks
Why not the 5700 ones? I can’t decide 😊
A bit of trivia: the gong noise for the key in the ignition when the driver’s door is open is a very Flat Concert F. 😂
Do u have a part number for the fuel pump ?
I used an “e2000” fuel pump. it fits many 80s and 90s fords so it’s cheap and common. I read about it somewhere, probably pirate, and it has the correct flow and pressure. Has been working well. Make sure you clean whatever fuel cell you use because mine still had plastic particles in it even after shop vac’ing it out. I’m adding a fuel filter between the tank and the pump.
Are those switches backlit? Have been trying to figure out if there is a bulb that turns on when the headlights are on
Amazing. Thanks for this
I like it. Even on pavement, one of the two corners can touch the ground because the street is never flat. It always tapers to the curb for water run off. Did it work, and how is it holding up?
Missed this comment, sorry! Been about a year and it’s holding up well.
@tims_4x4_garage no problem. Thanks for the update. I want to give it a try on my trailer, but so far, I haven't gotten it done, lol.
That’s a lot of weight you are putting in that car the car has nearly perfect weight distribution stock it’s a sports car not a limousine
Added less than 10lb here and ditched the spare tire, compressor, jack, power steering rack, power steering pump, cruise control, cat, etc etc. Please tell me more about how I messed up my car.
No mention on how you messed up your car Just stating my opinion, I've used my share of sound deander in the past I was told Just try to keep it low in the car. by the way i had one of those in the 90's that I picked up at an auction with a blown engine, I fabricated a stock 350 chevy with a four speed, you can set the engine back and get about an equal weight distribution.the Car was a rocket i wish i had it now amongst other things. Carry on!@@tims_4x4_garage
