Typical Indian cult leader.

Copshow jazz themes is a rarified niche for sure. And Don Ellis is the pinnacle for N.American copshow which invented the genre. Where would the French Connection be without this score? I have branched off into middle eastern copshow lately.
アーサー・ヘイリーの原作本は昔読みました。やはり、この作品が最高!ですね。
One of the funniest movies ever made! 👍🏻🤣
A few years earlier Don Ellis wrote the score for the movie "Moon Zero Two" (1969), a sarcastic Space Western. Some parts of the score are very similar to "The French Connection" (1971), in particular the end sequence oft the latter. It's like he prepared for bigger things to come.
He’s got a girl, I got a cat.
One of the best opening credit rolls and scores! Alfred Newman was the son of Lionel Newman, who was the head of the music department of 20th Century Fox for decades. Both were talented geniuses.
Don't want to sound like a know-it-all but I think they were actually brothers. Randy Newman is also related to them. All are great, talented musicians. Merry Christmas...

This is NOT the main title sequence from the movie.
I just eat scores like this up for breakfast. I love minimalist thriller scores, and I love this film. Thanks for posting.
I liked this movie better now than the first time it came out, what Great theme song !
Thank you for this wonderful, informative assessment. Great job!
garbage trash music and garbage trash movie
Thank you for uploading this! Loved this short documentary about BN. The music is fantastic, especially the track at 4:55, Responsibility. It's my favorite track in the entire video.
Academy Award Winner Best Adapted Music Score 1976 along side with Haskell Wexler Best Cinematography for this Film Classic...a truly gem
Very good music for an excellent film
Great upload. Thank you for the music and soundtrack. Beautiful film. Quincy Jones was a brilliant composer. RIHP with wings.
This is a very moving, beautiful piece. I watched the movie decades ago and felt there was something deeply powerful. Bolstering this touching story is this moving music. Thank you Jerry!
Fantastic
Thanx so much for this
This made me want to spend some time in Buffalo
I think Mel Brooks had this opening in mind during the opening of "High Anxiety" when he finally steps outside of the terminal and says "What a dramatic airport!"
Uplifting theme
It's ok with me
Don Ellis was my father’s favorite musician. He would try and count those crazy time signatures. We saw Don twice.
Karl Mad3n, RIP l3g3nd
I read the book by Arthur Hailey and learned a lot about aviation from it. This movie did a pretty decent job of cramming a lot of material into a two hour movie.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I hear some flavors of Goldsmith and Rozsa among the Williams. Terrific score!
Nice 👍
This is one of those great scores that deserves as much praise as and is inseparable from the movie itself like Bernard Herrmann to Vertigo, Psycho, and North by Northwest, John Barry with the Bond films, John Williams to Jaws and Star Wars, Vangelis to Blade Runner... and while the movie may be made for money and as Friedkin says, the director is just doing a job, the artistry at play transcends the product.
Any one knows the name to the end song as the movie finishes
Sad to read that Pat Heywood (Ethel Christie) has passed away on 26th.June 2024, aged 92, Heywood was one of the four stars of the film, (the others being Richard Attenborough (Christie), Judy Geeson (Beryl Evans) and John Hurt (Timothy Evans), with Heywood having passed away, Judy Geeson (Beryl Evans) is the last surviving main star of the film.
Film is great. Put it in the criterion collection
A true genius, and legend....
Sounds like 1979....groovy opening track....real musicians ...real instruments...
This was a great movie. Cool cops in this movie. They are wearing professional looking uniforms, appearing as public servants.
Really need to find the ost ......
I allways wandered who choose the music the music sequences in the movie: composer or director

This is the way it should always be. Movie and music working together to make it more intense and enjoyable to the viewer. Every great movie has a feel and rhythm to it. When you go out and pay money to see a movie you want to be taken for a ride just like at an amusement park. You want to be thrilled and amused. You pay good money so you want to leave with something you'll remember forever! This is why movie and music must work together to implant a visual song in the mind. Too many movies you see today leave you with nothing but a empty wallet! You feel ripped off and wished you just stayed at home 🏡
The snappy tune is so much better without the ill fitting song.
Some of the most brilliant film music ever.

I LIVE THROUGH THE 1970S AND LOVE CRIME DRAMAS DURING THIS TIME PERIOD
This composer is great for working for both Hal Ashby and Stanley Kubrick, two of the legendary directors of the history of cinema!
Trump 2024!!!
John Williams' score for Jaws 2 is on par with the first film. Bringing him and Roy Scheider back made it the only good Jaws sequel.
