2nd attempt: 7.6 secs

Best result was achieved by carefully feathering the throttle in first gear (very short first gear in these ZF 8HPs). 6.8 secs is faster than what BMW quoted as the 0-100 km/h acceleration figure - continuing BMW's long tradition of understating figures and performing better than expected.
