Massive Bottlenose Dolphin Pod - Sardine Run Expedition 2023 - Oceans Around Us
มุมมอง 1569 หลายเดือนก่อน
oceansaroundus.com/southafrica/ At the end of day 1 of a new Sardine Run week we had the incredible bonus of a large pod of roughly 500 (!) Bottlenose Dolphins who appeared out of nowhere and some decided to play with us. Due to the rain and proximity to a river mouth when this happened, the footage is a bit cloudy, but still shows just how interactive (and close!) these dolphins came to us. At...

What beautiful images, thank you. I enjoy learning about orcas and used to dive, alas never had the good fortune you encountered. Recently learned about male tail fins are curved downward, so stylish with their impressive dorsal fins. Your lovely video reminded me of a nice cover article in Smithsonian magazine called “Ode to an Orca”. Aahhhh, so nice

Keiko, the orca in Free Willy, actually swam to Norway with his own pod after permanently leaving his sea pen in Iceland. He hooked back up with a group of orcas which could only had been his family, as he chose to swim off only with them. They followed the herring migration to where they go to breed, where Keiko was discovered both to be well fed, in great condition, and displayed psychical signs of attempted mating❤.

I travelled to Iceland & was very lucky witnessing the Northern lights! They hadn’t been spotted for some weeks so obviously I felt privileged. To say I felt short changed is an understatement!! Of course seeing them dance across they sky was magical. I couldn’t understand why there wasn’t any colour? Where was the green & purple like what you see in nature programs? What I can’t understand is why isn’t it publicised more that you require a special exposure on your camera. Stupidly I only had my iphone camera with me. I was truly upset knowing I witnessed such an amazing spiritual event like this & never recorded the true colours of the Northern Lights I went out on a tour bus to see the lights, they took us into the island where us was pitch black. It’s an odd feeling standing in the dark waiting to see them. I got a little annoyed because a lot of Chinese people were busy chatting/laughing noisily amongst themselves. Im not a spiritual person but I truly felt “at one with the earth” I took myself right away from the tourists which I shouldn’t of done for safety reasons! I feel a moment lime what I experienced is nothing more than peaceful & eerie in a good way. I feel privileged to have seen them & it’s a memory that will stay with me forever
