Has this guy never heard Tito Gobi or Lawrence Melchior or the great Caruso himself or Artur Schnabel or William Kapell ? Jesus hasn't this guy realised that the piano like any instrument must sound like the human voice with all its sonority and texture. This is such a pathetically boring tinkle on the ivories. The guy plays like an immature child.

Just came here after listening to Horowitz playing this, almost couldn’t recognise it as same piece of music. Apologies to Lang Lang but I prefer Horowitz

Chopin was a genius... and Lang Lang's performance is worthy of him, if he hears his playing from the heavenly world, he must be very satisfied too.

I’ve been listening to other pianists tackling this piece and it’s good to hear an interpretation such as Lang langs.

Lui è fenomenale tecnicamente. Non fa fatica, ma il pezzo è suonato letteralmente alla cazzo di cane. Una delle peggiori interpretazioni mai viste. Ok fare il fenomeno e concedere un po’ di show, ma sta roba è una schifezza in tutto e per tutto. Nessuna dinamica, nessuna coerenza di tempo (oltre che è suonata troppo veloce in generale), diverse licenze dall’originale di Chopin, impressione complessiva di un fracasso inutile.

You know what his encore was when I heard him play?? After playing the Goldberg Variations in their entirety…WITH repeats… Für Elise. I mean…he nailed, obvs. But I was hoping for a Prokofiev toccata or something…
