“We Must’ve Hit A Reef!” “That’s No Reef…”

I only hear this when the game has a bounty on my head, like mid ghost fleet is prime kraken time or when I got skelly ship then kraken then meg, right after looting a FoF

I remember one time, when me and my crew saw a new player, struggling with a skelli sloop. We sailed over to help and attaked the skellis, the player sloop always nearby. When we eventually sank the skelli sloop, fog appeared. Everything got quiet and we tried to find the player sloop to share the loot. We screamed into the white void, asking if there were still there or even alive - but we got no answer and never saw them again. It felt like that scene in Titanic, when the lifeboats returned and were searching for living people but only found frozen bodies. A really eery experience.

This is a mega late response but, The fog has been a crazy cool experice in this game. I remember when me and my crew tried the ghost ship event when it first came out on marauders arch and the fog rolled in. It was impossible to see any of the ghost ships until one of them already rams into you.

The sheer panic my friend had in his voice when he saw the water turn black cannot be replicated. I was on the perch on top of the mast when i heard him panicking saying stuff like "OH FUCK [my name] GET DOWN HERE" and thats when i asked "whats wrong? I dont see a gal-" Then i saw the tentacles, and my heart dropped. We've never panicked like that before, even when we were against a fully crewed gallion. we made it out, and it was scary af, but it was fun as hell.

So eerie never know when i ship might pop out of thin air with dark adventure sails ready to reap your souls.

2018-19 was a truly unforgettable year for this game. The memories, laughter, and hundreds of hours spent with my crewmates were priceless.

One time my friends and i were chilling Doing our usual sea of theives activities and then a kraken spawned on us, i have my audio up cause i’m the audio guy, i wasn’t sure what the music was so i went up deck to see the water black and just yelled “GUUUUUYS WE’RE SO FU**ED”

my friends and i were getting chased by a reaper brig and we had our dive pulled up but they were always just too close, imagine our laughter and relief when we see that brig slow down and tentacles surround it as we're almost in the red sea.

Ive been playing sea of thieves with the boys for half a year, gotten like 20 megs. Theyve never attacked us once and we even jumped in the water with them. Last week one finally attacked, scariest shit ever(besides the kraken ofcourse)

This is the only way to listen to the old recordings of these tracks. But ah well

dude it was so terrifying. I was new to the game and i was by myself on a sloop. The water turned black and the opening sound to the event played. I didnt know what any of it meant, except for the water. I was completely terrified and stood np chance against the kraken. I havnt been krakened sense but now i always think the water turned black even of it is just that i am near reapers hideout or the fort of the damned

The meg chased me for a whole 20 minutes, me on solo on a sloop, i stopped at a island to recover, HE CAME BACK IMEDIATELY After i left the island but he that dirty shark wasn’t gonna be the end of me ! With a sniper rifle and two cannons i kept him far away from my glorious sloop and made it back to the outpost and sold my 30,000 worth of treasures, also it all happened during a storm.

it's not john williams, but it's a good suspenseful score. scared the shit out of me the first time this started playing and i saw a meg breach, just a few days ago when i bought the game.

Little story tryna be cinematic fr I was traveling up to Kraken’s Fall for an Ashen Winds event, a sloop already stationed at the island, anchored to my advantage. I sailed up and sunk their ship before they could get to me. When they did, it was a solo slooper like myself, and I easily sent them to join their ship. I then proceeded to finish the Ashen Winds event, gathering the loot up and onto my sloop. By then a thick field of fog had rolled in from the Devil’s Roar and covered Kraken’s Fall and the surrounding area, and I was worried that the sloop would return. And of course, they did. I saw a mast in the fog just as I was sailing away from the island, and I’d say it was the most eerie sight I’ve ever seen in my days playing Sea of Thieves. And I don’t even know for sure if it was the same sloop or a sloop at all. I guess I’ll never know… (Sorry for such a long story I was cooking)
