OPG's Favorite Funny Barbecue (Scene From the Touchstone Pictures Movie 'Father of the Bride')
We at OPG love Steve Martin and Diane Keaton. We really love the cozy barbecue setting with candles for ambient lighting. Movies provide so many great ideas. What are some of your favorite outdoor movie scenes?

実際にチキンにチョコソースをかけて食べたらホントに美味しいのかな?
I love the way he ever so nonchalantly throws in "Well, excuse me..."
Haha wedding is like any other weekend party in the backyard
I absolutely adore miss Dench ❤❤❤
"Not you in a chef's hat, right, George?"
"any complaints, see me." everyone needs a judi dench in their lives
Her heavy breathing and slobbering kiss killed the mood. Johnny was so gentle and warm with his approach she went full on , I mean I guess in would have too he's so fine.
❤ any complaintes ...see me 😅❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nothing to do with the barbecue, but that grooms family would not get one red cent out of me to fly their relatives over from Europe. Even asking the brides family to do that because of “tradition” is unacceptable
😘❤️🥰ricooo😉🤗
WHO CARES about the food! I’m here for the gorgeous Johnny Depp! 😍
If I ever get married I would love to have a reception like that…
That chocolate sauce is very likely ‘mole’ which is a classic Mexican sauce and probably the most difficult sauces to make… it’s got about 15+ ingredients (including chocolate) and in my opinion should be considered one of the mother sauces in cooking😊
I took a cooking class in oaxaca where I learned how to make black Mole. It's delicious and it had 30 ingredients or so. We remade it a month later at home and it took us 4 hours 😅 but so worth it.
When Kimberly Williams married Brad Paisley, they ended up having BBQ reception.
I love how the whole time it’s like the guys family is rich af but it’s the brides family that is supposed to pay so.... there ya go Steve Martin DEAL WITH IT What a cool movie which I believe came out the year I was born
Who in the world buys other people's flight tickets for a wedding?
The only scenario I could imagine that being remotely reasonable is if 1) The couple Is paying for the wedding and 2) They decided to do a very small destination wedding.
Super film.
These days ppl be checking their phones more than eating food. Hope the days where food is really appreciated come back.
What was he thinking..? Burgers...? Its a wedding, you should be serving like ribs, and pulled bbq and maybe some steaks...
This is ever father's dream for his own daughter's wedding. Glorious but cheap! There you go a bride's burger and a groom's burger. Dad is ONLY so super enthusiastic to pay for this perfectly affordable wedding in his backyard. Wonderful!
I'm sorry. I can completely understand George. It's not his responsibility to pay for Brian's family's transportation. That's bs.
So basically this was mole…..
I told my mom I wanted a small backyard wedding and this is what she thought of lol
Kimberly Williams' wedding reception was in fact, a barbecue! She reflected on it being the best ever!
I’ll make my famous guacamole 🤣🤣
I love that little pooch. Adorable 🥰
Chocolate gravy over meat?????
Lol yesss. It’s actually a classic Mexican sauce and even though it does have chocolate the sauce should taste spicy/savory/nutty with a dash of sweetness.. it goes great with chicken and rice
Es una película, argumentada, en un especie de cuento ó fábula...
always wonderred if it was chocolate that they were putting on the chicken or some special gravy
It is. In the earlier scene in the kitchen, she’s making the sauce.
Oh i get it. A barbeque at the house is so much more cheaper than anything haha
This movie is a gem
One of my favorite scenes from this wonderful movie! Utterly fanrastic and sensual! 😊
I always thought this was a deep dark gravy, but they made it look like chocolate. Love Johnny in this
It’s definitely a thin chocolate gravy. Made with pepper and cooked with cherries. The cherries in this one have been removed after it has been cooked so there is essence of cherry in the sauce, which is perfect with the meat (either chicken, pork, or lamb). It’s like how some burgundy red wines that have hints of cherries and chocolate. They pair well with meats. Ok, now I have to make this myself… yummmmm.
@@agirl9443 Recipe ideas please? Would happily read your advice.
Funny thing is the backyard wedding is exactly what Kimberly had when she married Brad Paisley
Didn't Kim wear a trenchcoat to her "rehearsal" only to have her wedding dress underneath? To fake out the press?
I'm lovin 'it. love this scene. I am silent
I know in this movie they make out that out to be a bad wedding reception but this is actually what I want :)
I’ve never seen it as that… it looks amazing. Accordion player and all.
"my dream wedding, a BBQ wedding" LOL
Love Armand's hat. And that chocolate sauce looks delicious!!!
"I don't think you want the word PIT, on a wedding invitation, George!" Kids are the best!!
I never could understand, why kids call their parents by their first name! I find it disrespectful.
@@pamelabacker2420 I think the kid, Matty, only did it that one time since he heard his older sister do it too after she came back from Europe.
3:09 his groan here 🤣
The scene where everyone is eating and savoring each bite makes me think of the eating scenes in the movie Like Water For Chocolate, which came out about 1992 or 93. The food prepared by the main character, Tita, carried her passions and emotions, and whoever ate her food seemed to feel what she felt.
It looks lifted from Babette's Feast as well.
@@thomasfranche6770 Well, more than one movie can certainly show people eating and savoring food; especiallyl when food is a main theme of the movie.
My family has weddings at home. We have a barn on our property designated for family gatherings. Everyone brings food.
Miramax movie huh??!!
Miramax helped with funding. The movie was made by the writer, director and actors. Miramax merely helped distribute and provided funds. The creatives are the ones to focus on. The writer of the book, script, director (Lasse Hallstrom) and one of the best group of 10 or so actors to be in a film together. The talent in that group is over the top, especially Juliette Binoche and Lena Olin (reuniting after working on The Unbearable Lightness of Being early in their careers), Judi Dench Johnny Depp, Alfred Molina, the lovely Leslie Caron, Peter Stormare, John Wood and others. Just a stellar cast. And, the young actress playing Anouk was terrific, as well. I can't think of another movie with that many talented actors.
I tried chocolate sauce on roast chicken years ago it strangely goes well together ! 😋
gastronomic alchemy
I was thinking it was some form of mole?
That is one weird combination
@@draco1811 I thought it might have been a demi-glace.
@@elenarodriguez922 I was just under the impression that since most of Vianne's chocolate recipes are South American inspired, mole would be one of those that she'd trot out for special occasions.
Classic Steve!
Chocolate sauce on lamb chops and roast chicken 😀
Eww. Poor lamb. No one should eat lamb ever.
Yummmm! Fabulous.
Ull never guess Try 8 round trip tickets lol
Actually 9

Steve's face when he calls him dad 😂
I cringe, every time Bryan calls George "dad"! I'm like, he's not your effing dad!😖🙄
There are several components to making a great speech including making it humorous not boring and the right length One place I found that succeeds in merging these is the Secret Speech Blueprint (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the most useful info that I've seen. Check out this awesome website.
The Bride and Groom burger looks delicious
I love how they soon loosen up and just dig in and savor every flavor and bite! I love that!
Well Annie's dad has lost his dang mind the steak pit was the worst idea and then a back yard BBQ idea was even worse 💭😰😒
