2019 Promaster 3500 Pressure Washing Van for Sale
Up for sale is my pressure washing business / work truck. Depending on your interest this business may come with a roughly $35,000 a year account if local and interested. (Will provide training)
The van has a clean title and has 57,000 miles.
Fully built with an 8.5GPM Hot water pressure washer. The pressure washer and steamer were professionally serviced in Seattle a few months ago. The hot water unit was fully rewrapped (Rebuilt). The GX690 has new coils, plugs, air filter, fresh oil, and the carb was cleaned.
This van has primarily been used to wash fleets of vehicles, though I use it for house washing and concrete as well.
It has a 525 gallon water tank, 20" surface cleaner, Kootenai Chemical remote chemical injection system so that you can inject two chemicals remotely.
I also have a bunch of Southeast Softwash chemicals, as well as the remainder of my fleet washing chemicals. (55 gallon drums).

Fleet Washing For Beginners

A brief description of how the two step method of fleet washing works, and in no way covers all aspects of the two step process. I made this video with the content that I had available, and thus not everything can be fit into such a short video. 2-step, commercial washing

This video is showing how to use the Tusk Pilot Panniers without the two top straps. The straps were in my way, and defeated the purpose of having the quick release brackets. Hopefully this video helps some people in the future, as I couldn't find any information about this online.

Why are you selling? I’d love to own it
Hey Christopher! I ended back working in aviation. Feel free to shoot me a call 503 308 8220
Hi. What's the device around your neck that controls the chemical flow?
It's a remote on my arm. It's manufactured by Kootenai Chemical out of Montana. It turns on / off, and selects which soap.
Hey brother if you don’t mind me asking. How did you find work and market your business. Did you go to these companies in person, cold call them, or hand out business cards?
I'd recommend going in person. It's the most work, but rare for people to do. You stand out for sure.
@@thomasweis thanks appreciate it.
I'm new at fleet washing, but have a couple of people asking if i can do it for them! What do you use for your 2 step? and good acid brand or soap brands you recommend? I know about the SH ratios for houses and concrete, but not for like school buses or heavy equipment. Thanks if you can give some advice or point me in the right direction!
Let's find some time to have a phone call. Text my business number 503 308 8220
Omg finding this video was a blessing. When you mentioned that u tow that with a Prius my eyes popped! I am starting my business and I’m in the process of acquiring a trailer and I also have a Prius so I was so concerned about hauling a big trailer with water tanks on it. Would you share how much load was on the trailer on this video? Also did u ever drove with full tanks? I’ve seen that you’re supposed to keep heavier objects towards the front of the trailer, if they’re towards the back , it gets very unstable. Did u ever experience wobbles while driving or anything of any sort? Please share with me any experiences that would’ve made your life easier that you would change or that you would/ wouldn’t do different? Lol sorry for the humongous question it’s just that I’m in a very similar situation and it can be scary at times, so seeing someone do well and move forward like you simply fills me up with courage and strength!
Let's set up a call? It would be easier for me. I'm currently out of the country but you can text my work number and I'll call when I can. 503 308 8220

@@thomasweis awesome thanks
What chemical are you using?
Depends. When reclaiming NW Chemicals Typhoon and Storm. Sometimes Thunder for non polish safe
@@thomasweis i appreciate the fast response you have no idea lol is it as simple as apply the chemical then just rinse? I currently wash homes but got a call to do a fleet & I’ve never done it but reoccurring work is always a win

What would you like to know?
I’m just starting off PW and there is quite a market for commercial fishing boat cleaning where I am. Not much information out there for that process. I wonder is this two step process would work good with GelCoat? Acidic chems tend to make the gelcoat porous which would require a wax and buff from what I read so I’m leaning towards a higher ph chem them soap.

I'm not the guy when it comes to boat cleaning unfortunately. Sorry!

Nothing wrong with making a buck on TH-cam. Thanks for the vid.
Hey! Love the info in this video, thank you so much! Quick question for you ... at the 0:58 mark, I see you pressed a button on your remote, what exactly is that and where can one find it?! I am assuming that is to switch over the injector to Step #2?
Scott Traphaegan from Kootenai Chemical. I have a two chemical remote system. They make up to 4 I believe.
How many cars do you wash with your water?
I have a new rig, but this rig used a hose and not a water tank. I could all day long as long as I had enough soap
Hey man, how did you mount those reels to the side rail of the trailer? Do you find that it’s sturdy enough to carry the weight of the reels?
I believe they were 4" u-bolts, and yes they were sturdy. I used nylon lock nuts and blue lock tite and checked them weekly. Not one ever came loose
Trust me, if you're serious about pressure washing, Southeast Softwash trailers are the way to go.
Do you use hot water or cold?
Cold mostly, but hot is recommended if you can. I do have hot water and it's the difference between washing dishes with or vs cold water.
Take the straps that go across the top of the bike off and remove all the buckles. Now move that plastic retianer that you just took those straps off to the top of the bag just so it's not under that vinyl cover. Put your strap on the retainer run it through the plate and through the retainer agian. No extra parts or jerry rigging necessary
I would've never thought to use my dremel, this is gonna save me hours with a knife lol. Thanks :)
Baja rocks, a lot of places to visit, mountains, deserts, beaches just dond do the highway only get some off roads tracks they take you a very wonderful places, i live in Ensenada, just don't do it in summer you are going to sufer a lot... Cheers and good ride!!
I'm actually slated to go in April of this year now. Really excited! I ended up doing the WABDR last year
@@thomasweis great! Just expected some strong winds in gulf of california highway.. but yeah its a good time for the trip or maybe on autumn.. enjoy baja and the trip.. cheers!
But the phone app is cool lol
I've gotten above 4 miles on I5 before. The app is really useful to see where it's coming from
@@thomasweisdoes the app end up automatically posting that there is a speed trap on Waze and Google maps and stuff like that?
@@ericcaldwell3584 You can enable it. So you can choose to have Waze and or maps police alerts show up. It's really handy, and my screen flashes blue when a cop is reported ahead
Gen 1 would've been full on from a mile away
Very informative! Please continue with 2 step videos 👍🏼
I've really been meaning to film more. Been busy
How can I get in contact with you I’m trying to get in the business and i can use some tips
Look up my business on Facebook or through Google in Beaverton Oregon
Hey Thomas! Wanted to ask a few question regarding your business!
Dude a $30 cobra would do that job in a flat at that distance!
Cobra = JUNK
@@klausjaeger497 Valentine = Dog Shyt
Yep, Valentine is only in business because of their fan girls, who keep purchasing their overprice junk.
Are you using both steps on the cab?
Absolutely. Everything except the interior of the cargo area in the back
I've got about 30 trucks like that to clean. can you give me a ball park price of what i should be charging. Thanks.
Not publicly. But you can find me on Facebook Thomas Weis out of Oregon. Feel free to message me and I'll hop on a call and get you sorted 🤙
Can I message you too! I just bought a company from an old timer and I think my prices are wayyyyyyy low
@@IsaacIpsen Absolutely. Thomas Weis on FB
@@IsaacIpsen yes.
awesome, i requested you @@thomasweis
How did you switch chemicals and switch to water only. It doesnt look like you're using a 2 step gun with all that extra plumbing and valves on the gunn itself.
There is a remote on my left arm that I turn it on and off with. Instead of a 2 step gun, I use a 2 step remote system
Definitely make videos of prepping for your trip and of your trip to Mexico. Cheers!
I'm not sure when I'll end up in Mexico. The plan was for this past summer but we got delayed and didn't want to do Baja in late July. I'll definitely keep filming
Also, do you have an Instagram? I'd love to follow your adventures down south
No Tusk pannier racks available. On back order! Good video though!
At least it's going into winter, you should have plenty of time till spring... I've got a lot of upkeep to do on the bike this winter myself
Very true. Next year buddy and I are heading to South America and I’m working on getting the KLR mods completed. We’re excited. Thanks for the video again. Keep up the good work.
@@jeffbrandenburg8672 where are you leaving from?
Georgetown Guyana
@@jeffbrandenburg8672 Ahh that's going to be a good trip. We ended up doing a part of Canada this summer. I bet you guys will have an amazing time
Great video. Quick and to the point. I’ve ridden through Messico twice and I find the federales are as bad as the banditos when it comes to kidnappings. Be sure to take a large caliber, well concealed hog leg and a small shovel to dig a shallow grave when someone with questionable morals and a troubled childhood comes along. Safe travels!
I’d love to network. I’m in Portland, OR. I operate a small pressure washing store. I’d love to grow our fleet washing supplies.
I'll send you a message on Facebook 🤙
Just getting started with my pressure washing business. Not sure how to price fleet washing. How much would you charge to wash 10 16ft box trucks?
I'd recommend calling local truck washes and see what they charge. In my honest opinion I would add 15 to 25% as you have to drive to them and what not. You can always try to charge by the hour too. Do you have to wash the inside too? Just outside I'd say $30 or so and 50$ if you do the inside. These trucks are in the $70 range and washed every two weeks on average
6:01 would have the LED lights red at the rear. That signifies the rear of a vehicle.
What do you typically charge for a semi tractor?
Typically $70. Depends if it's a sleeper it's closer to $90
What PSI do you use on trucks?
4 or 5 gpm 2k or around 1400 on my 8gpm. That's mostly dictated by what psi my chemical injector likes. Do not go above 2k
I'd like to publicly mention that my opinion on Southeast Softwash has changed over time. I would like you to disregard my comments about them being MLM. While they are expensive, they are a good company and their heart is in the right place. Never be afraid to admit your mistakes.
Are you back to softwashing? I want to start up something small and don’t want to worry about damaging certain materials/surfaces
@@seanneumann5790 I do both, but this summer I've been on the road a lot. What kinda questions did you have?
@@thomasweis Can you do video about softwashing? I like the honesty and would like to hear more from someone who is not selling courses about it, thanks!
@@thisiswhathappened7247 I can, however it may be a little while until I have one put together. My wife is finishing her doctorate so I've been on the road a lot this year with her. I'll get to it one of these days though
lol.. i was wondering if my lil datsun could pull the trailer, then you mentioned your using your prius, i was like, im good then.
All vehicles in the EU are required to have a towing capacity listed. If you can't find one for the us car, sear for the EU rating
Don't know if you did it but don't forget to bypass your pressure washer
I no longer have this rig, but it was bypassed
What acid are you talking about? Never heard people using acid in softwash or pressure.
NW Chemicals Typhoon typically. It's an aluminum brighter that's is mainly made of Hydrofluoric Acid. Not super common when softwashing, though it has its uses when washing trucks and some property.
Thanks!
Trade in the Prius and get a ford maverick
I upgraded to a 2019 Promaster 3500... Had to start somewhere!
How much do you want for tyr setup
I apologize but the trailer sold last night.
Can you share your setup equipment please?
Hey, I'm sorry on the delay but I have a video on my channel that shows my original build. I do have a new rig and I should probably get around to posting that
😆 I apologize you did use aside in vidio your all good thanks again 👍
Where did you get your two step
Kootenai chemical. Scott Traphagen. I'm happy to put you in contact
I haul ready mix concrete and we use a citric (i think) acid to remove the concrete.
