Possibly the best part of this garbage movie, but that's not saying much.
0:20 is just amazing, because you're thinking he's just walking like that because he's trying to get down the steps, only for him to reach the bottom and reveal that no, that's just how he walks even on level ground
still one of the most epic openings
No one had the courtesy to close the door...
This is some seriously trippy shit.
(1/19/25) A few hours ago, on the 18th, I saw this movie for the first time and I was in awe. One of the best animated movies I have ever seen. I loved this opening scene so much that I played it twice. It was actually my favorite part. :)
Gandalf meets Aruman *
Man I wish he could've finished this
I got my very first exposure to this movie through the PC game of Lord of the Rings on my old Windows computer in the 90s, which, in turn, if I can remember, I then rented the movie from the local library two years later, and finally purchasing my own copy of the movie from Suncoast (from way, way, way back in the day when that store existed; which makes me miss Suncoast even more, also makes me miss the Warner Bros store as well; Christ I miss those stores).
Where do I watch it whole?
This is my favorite part. The walking in. 0:19
2:23 SARUMAAAAAAAAAAN!!! (Echoes through space) SAAAARUUUUMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!
why does gandalf siegheil saruman?????
for being the middle ages, no one is wearing tights!!
Does anyone notice how Mithrandir, in this rendition, gives a greeting to Saruman that looks oddly similar to a certain German fascist greeting? No disrespect meant, was just an honest observation.
If you watch this at 2x speed you will
Title: Gandalf meets Saruman Scene: Gandalf visits Saruman
I'm probably biased but this is my favorite Lord of The Rings movie
Saruman the red
Gandalf walking like he is doing some really fast rap 😂
Desculpem alguém pode traduzir por favor muito legal esse desenho
The battle of Big Hair
*Pause. Random dude brings Saruman a staff*. Gandalf: “Hey Scott.” Scott: “Hey Gandalf.”
"Ni hao, bootleg Chinese Santa. May you tell me where is Saruman the White? The future of Middle Earth is at stake." "Sure thing. Down the hall and to the left are small orbs on the table. Consume them and you will find the truth about him."
LSD was very popular in the 70s...
Glaring error when the narrator says the Dark Lord Sauron learned how it forge the Ring after the Elves made their Rings. It was Sauron on the form of Annatar who taught the Elven Smiths the Craft!
the film wasn't perfect, but is still a classic for its time, and certainly beats rings of power and the jackson trash.
How many cought on to the fact that when Saruman is trapping Gandalf all the sfx are lightsaber lockup souunds? The curious thing is though that when Gandalf is saying the whole if you hold me here thing that sound is an empire strikes back style lockup. How did they get an 1980 sound in 78? Hmmm maybe ben already had it and used it in Empire later.
Pointing your finger in someone's face while asking for a favor is just a poor stategy.
Say what you want about this film.... waaaaaaay back in 1985 when this kid was 10.... this movie was the very first anything Tolkien I was exposed too and my god did i become obsessed... I remember the person who introduced me to it explained about the books and how i should read "the Hobbit' first and i begged mum to buy me the books the very next day... by age 11 I had read both Hobbit and the full LOTR books for the first of many many times
Perhaps Boney M should have made this into a 1970's disco classic Sa-Sa -Saroman. Mordor's leading right hand man.
0:29 You can tell the animators were feeling a bit based that day.
End of 2024 anybody?
Every character in this movie, especially Frodo, moves like Thumbelina in the 1994 movie m.th-cam.com/video/EKfaCsAs5pg/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUKdGh1bWJlbGluYQ%3D%3D
ELVENPAAAAAAAATH! 🤟
UAAAAAAY ✨✨✨
I was stuck to the tv
Terrible movie
🤎🐾
I love this Sauraman much better than movie, even the Pope wears red!
Ji Dan, Military Leader of the Western Zhou
Saruman has the Willie Dynamite pimp hand gestures down pat!!
The voice acting is incredible.
Who the fuck was that
SARUMANOFMANYCOLOOORS!!!
This Saruman reminds me of my neighbours angry cat
chapter where the history was told was called Shadows of the Past, seems pretty clever to use "shadows" for the movie's prologue
Santaman 😂
Love how Saruman just has a little guy whose only job is to give him his staff
Aruman
this cartoon was awesome! it covered the first two books. then they put some nonsense out to finish the return of the king. i wish the same people did that one.
Remember MISTY Mountain HOP by... Side 2 Led Zeppelin IV ~ "What a Ratt!!!" You guys FORGOT your Wallets on Your Way to the Theater.... :>)
Not only this movie inspired Peter Jackson and played a significant role in the making of one of the best trilogies in movies... You can track back the opening fighting scene in Coppola's Dracula to this one. The same use of shadow figures against a red blackgroud. So theatrical, so epic, so beautiful. Bakshi should have been given the proper amount of cash to finish the story. Great movie.
