If I recall rightly, I think I seen a couple of AC scraper years ago, this is the first one I seen worked, I worked scraper spreads, all Cat, that is really neat to see it being worked, the truth is, I don't recall if I knew AC built a scraper line, I do now. I primarily supported the 666 scarpers and 657 line for years. This AC reminds me of the 641 A scrapers

There was a quarry near me when I was young. They used a lot of Detroits. When the uke was climbing out of the hole or the Trojan loader would hit the pile your could hear them from my house. The good ole days!

These engines work great in earth moving, or generator applications where you need that power right at the red line like where these old 2 stroke DD's make it. I have a Terex wheel loader and an old Euclid dozer that move material well and reliable for the farm. Only thing is you MUST wear hearing protection if you don't want to be saying ''huh, what was that?'' years later like me. haha

When you say patch jobs did the rod go through the block and the previous owner welded the block? And you were saying the paint chips plugged the oil pickup because it seems to turn quite smoothly but I guess you are planning on checking the clearances. 😀🇨🇦
