Do plant chores with me | How I shine plant leaves
Summer is nearing, and I barely am getting around to cleaning my houseplants but better late than never! As I type this, my plants are all still glistening and looking their best.
In this video, I'll share my day wiping down leaves of my most large foliage plants and how I prefer to do it. But of course, I am always open to any plant tips in the comments. Please keep it friendly and enjoy the video!

    I found your video today as I just got in a coco pole and wanted information on watering and such with it. I am usually very , picky, about who I watch as voice and body language can be annoying to me at times. I have to say I immediately connected with your personality and I am subscribing. You seem like fun and real. You keep the video going without dragging things out or repeating constantly. And am I correct that this is your first video? If so, job well done! Side note without being a weirdo or creeper, you are absolutely beautiful! Your eyes and skin tone is very beautiful! I’m looking forward to learning more from your videos.

    If you drill holes in side of pot you can ziptie the pole to the pot. Helps 😀

    Hi Crystal it's me again, Roxanne, I just read your "about" to see if you lived close to me but all you said was you live in the United States. Then I watched another video and you mentioned Dallas it was your video on collecting rainwater. You showed me an easy way to collect rainwater. because I have some carnivorous plans that can't have anythning but distilled water, reverse osmosis water and something else kind of water. I was reluctant because of mosquitoes. But like in your video I just put a lid on it and it'll be okay and my roommate won't get freaked out thinking I'm breeding mosquitoes. Roxanne

    hi Crystal, Great, a down home girl with common sense and uses what she's got,brains. I haven't made one yet but I'm going to make my own Moss Pole. Your mesh looks like what I got from Amazon just plastic 40" which I thought would be a good height. As for your plants topping over, some people sit their whole planted pot in a ceramic pot, they're very expensive, but what I was thinking is maybe just put a big heavy Rock in the bottom of your pot. I'm trying to get rid of dirt and use LECA. Enjoyed your video and I'll come back soon.! Roxanne

    Break the coco coir to layers for easy rolling and roll it on a pvc pipe.. or use zip ties first to hold it in place before wrapping. work smarter not harder 😉

    This is exactly what I was going to do. I bought a coco pole from my local place, but wanted to wrap some wicking rope around it, I’d just not seen anyone else do it!

  • @tracyloeffler7616

    This is the second video of yours that I've seen. You are so awesome!! All your information and your personality are working together perfectly. I will definitely get coco for poles I need to make, instead of the spagnum moss that I was going to get. Do you think a non-self watering pole for plants I want to bottom water would be ok with spagnum moss (above soil) and the bottom of the pole just bare would be fine for bottom watering plants? Thank you again for your videos!

    • @growingwithcrystal9254
      @growingwithcrystal9254 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome! 😊 And yes, I can't see your plant have any issues by using a non-self watering pole that way for the plants you want to bottom water. Good luck! 💕💖

    Very informative 😊 so can a pvc pipe be used for both these? Sorry if you mentioned it in the video, I didn’t catch it.

    • @growingwithcrystal9254
      @growingwithcrystal9254 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did mention pvc but I definitely see people doing this with PVC more than without it. I just didn't have any nor did I feel like getting some at home depot or lowes. But you can instead of using the bamboo sticks 🙂

    The smell of neem oil doesn't bother me either! - I mean it doesn't smell GOOD but the way people go on about it....haha. The first thing I thought of looking at your BoP leaves is that they look sunburned. Is that possible?

    • @growingwithcrystal9254
      @growingwithcrystal9254 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think so because early on I had it sitting on my balcony outside when I didn't know any better 😩

  • @ArthurGrey.
    @ArthurGrey. 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm not sure on the care you give your BOP but the discolouration could be as simple as too much heat/sun. If it's more so on the side closer to the window, that may be it! Otherwise, it could be a fungal, bacterial or watering issue so be sure to keep an eye on it.

    • @growingwithcrystal9254
      @growingwithcrystal9254 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the sun damage could have been part of it in the beginning because I had it outside a lot when it was little. But it's been inside ever since. My friend's bf said it could also be a calcium magnesium deficiency.

  • @ArthurGrey.
    @ArthurGrey. 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Please don't use coconut oil on your plants! Basically anything you can find in your kitchen shouldn't be put on leaves. Neem Oil is safe, natural and an excellent leaf shine that won't put your plants at risk of bacterial or fungal issues. ETA: Be sure to clean the backs of leaves too! It helps ward off pests.

    • @growingwithcrystal9254
      @growingwithcrystal9254 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll do some research on those tips to confirm. Thanks! Oh and you're right about the back of the leaves for sure. Missed that on this cleaning. I usually spray the entire plant down in my shower or sink.

  • @ArthurGrey.
    @ArthurGrey. 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree neem oil doesn't smell too bad! At first it really caught me off guard as everyone said it smelled like garlic, but to me it just smelled like hot garbage the first time I used it. 😅 Thankfully I got used to it lol.

    • @growingwithcrystal9254
      @growingwithcrystal9254 3 ปีที่แล้ว
