The Hidden Legacy of the Rangers of the North | Realm of Tales
In this episode of Realm of Tales, we uncover one of the most fascinating yet overlooked stories in the world of Middle-earth-the legendary Rangers of the North. Born from the ashes of the lost kingdom of Arnor, these Dúnedain Rangers lived in secrecy for over a thousand years, defending the free peoples of Eriador from the shadows. Their sacrifices, victories, and noble lineage often went unnoticed, but their role in the shaping of Middle-earth is undeniable.
From the fall of Arnor to the rise of Aragorn as King Elessar, the Rangers were the unsung heroes, battling orcs, wolves, and the dark forces that threatened their lands. Their quiet vigilance protected the peaceful lands of Bree and the Shire, allowing hobbits and simple folk to live free from fear. Learn about their deep connection with Elrond in Rivendell, the heirlooms they safeguarded, and the tragic fates of many chieftains, including Aragorn's father, Arathorn II.
We explore:
The fall of Arnor and the rise of the Dúnedain Rangers
The mysterious role of the Rangers in protecting Eriador
The sacred heirlooms of the Rangers, passed down through generations
The battles they fought against orcs, wolves, and evil forces
The pivotal moment when the Grey Company rode to Aragorn's aid
How Aragorn’s ascension restored the lost kingdom of Arnor

Clark's Galadriel, from Rings of Power, is the only real Galadriel, as far as I'm concerned. Thanks to that series, she's now my favourite elf, that and movie Legolas because he's hot.

For me, Smaug will forever be top dragon. Admittedly, I'm biased. I grew up on the Hobbit and have read it many times. It came as a shock lately to find out he was smaller than previous dragons.

When when when is series 2 on??? Supposed to start today!!!! Can't wait!!!! Not even going to waste my time watching this. If the guy prefers being bored to death, he should go watch the hobbit movies - watching paint dry is more exciting. A real insult to Tolkien. Rings of p is a masterpiece. Hush, all you haters. Stop spoiling it for everyone else.

I personally don't like the Aragorn in the movies. For a start, he's ugly. And he's nothing like the Aragorn in the novels.

I recall gandalf saying how creatures crawl into the tunnels of the misty mountains and cant find their way out again. Over the years, they change, acclimatising to the cold and the dark. Just because sauron doesnt know about them doesnt necesarily mean the nameless things are older than he is. Yet, despite these nameless things, khadud-dum existed for many centuries as the centre of the dwarvish civilisation, and it wasnt a nameless thing that caused their downfall, it was a balrog.

The color red does not imply being a Sith, a lot of Jedi used red in their sabers and many Sith used other colors besides red (Darth Revan for example)

Sorry to ask. But Aragon was in the one of the human king of Gondor. The Numenor were all evles. So Aragon, a a human may be had ancestors serving the elves, maybe mixing but he was no Numenor. He was a human, the second children of iluvatar, not been able to live forever.

The Numenorians were humans gifted the island of Numenor from the Valar as a reward for fighting with them against Morgoth. Humans in middle earth (at that time) are descendants of those who fought alongside Morgoth. Isildur grew up in Numenor before traveling to middle earth during the Second Age to fight against Sauron. And Aragorn is one of his direct descendants.

If the world is the song of the illuvatar and they were able to make song into physical entity. Ever heard a orchestra warming up and all the different musical instruments that are at once a rhythm and yet also not? Not the piece the conductor makes but yet was created before the performance and like the song the Illuvatar make and remains so does the Nameless pieces that come before. So no, I don't think they have anything to do with Morgoth at all.

Lúthîen perhaps after meeting Beren that fateful day, was the greatest gift, and that Beren was the exactly the example of what Men should have been, and he was honorable, dependable, reliable, his sacrifice and his willingness to earn her love, wishing to marry her, Lúthîen knew that she had met her Truly beloved, and that Immortality is Not always right, the Gift of Mortality, though Difficult, is the truly blessed gift, that following one's True Love into the Unknown after Death is what Immortality failed to grasp, that Growing old and death are the Kindest and gracious gift, Immortality is But an illusion, Mortality is Eâlindil, the Sacred Star

I believe that Lúthîen and Beren's love was what strengthened middle earth, that Lúthîen's genuine Love and Merciful kindness was what Beren truly admired, that it wasn't a mistake, that it was an omen, a necessary step that would bring Humans and Elves together

I have seen elsewhere that Gandalf's becoming naked, wandering beyond thought and time, is not a reference to the strange ways under the mountain but to his becoming bodiless, entering a different mode of being, and returning to the spiritual abode of Eru being before he is given another form and task as the White Wizard.
