Wildwood brake reservoir and fender well headers, not original. Nice car though.
Shame they cut it up to fit the headers... The things people did back then.
An original”factory” Max wedge would be a factory delete radio & heater version among other things like lots of aluminum. I’m old and actually was a Mopar line mechanic in that era which is remembered lovingly!!!
When can I expect delivery?
I agree that it is not an original Max Wedge car. 2 tell tale items. No manual choke pull and the under hood braces have not been removed
That's over 7200 1/4 mile passes if I use your history.
Is it Push Button Automatic?
Doubt it's an original wedge, but it's still a really well preserved low mile survivor and collectable racer.
Is one Tough lookin. Ride. Love it. Mopars Finest
How much?two million?
Sounded great.....
The little old lady that used to own it just drove it to church on Sunday I Heard that before
What an awesome MOPAR !!!!
Start it up.
Whoever plumbed those carbs was all out of f*cks that day.
AAA Top Shelf #1
Were the inner fender cutouts done by the factory for the headers? Dual master cylinder was factory?
Love it, Beautiful
i get close ups but pull back for a wide view all sides.
Each 1/4 mile pass would add 1 mile on the odometer. 1/4 mile pass, 1/4 mile shutdown and 1/2 mile back to the staging lanes.
I put that car up against a 63 Z11 Impala
nice machine
Thats a cool car..
I had the dodge 330 with the slant 6 in 63, it was a 4 door. Hated that car.
I had one in 1970, loved it. Best car I ever had. Light blue with the same interior as this one.
Was it a Push button automatic
It would not of had a radio..........fake
Even if the car is not a factory Max Wedge car it is pretty cool for a few reasons: 1. Driven strictly down the strip for 50 + years and never crashed 2. Always garage kept 3. The car is intact and never was gutted. You would think that this being a drag car every ounce of unnecessary weight would have been removed, leaving essentially a shell on wheels.
every time he says original, take a shot
You have to look in the glove box... the real ones have a non-warranty sticker in the glove box.
Push button automatic on a DRAG car?!?
They used those transmissions, complete with pushbutton shifters, in early funny cars.
Yup... that rear mat seemed a little dry to me as well. A squirt of armorall should do the trick.
not all orig !!
Badass to be sure..but one of the ugliest of the Mopars..
Am I seeing things?? Or is that engine mounted with elephant ears to the frame? at 1.57 minutes. Is the block numbers matching? Why do that instead of using pro racing mounts at the factory location. Just curious what the story is. Thanks for sharing.
I don't see ears...I see a turnbuckle to keep the engine from tearing the DS rubber mount.
Gorgeous car. 7200 times down the strip? That's a ton
Rhythm Styx probably at least half of that is driving around at the track and test running while tuning and what not
WOW! I would never repair any of those things. I would much rather see cars like this than some restored "Like New" thing.
Push- button shift 😂
I actually had a tamer version. Push button shift was weird but worked well.
Looks pretty molested where the headers pass through the inner fenders
But it's period correct for the time...all serious race cars had "fenderwell" headers...
Sounds good.....
Factory Race Car with no Tach?
Beautiful car. Love it Love it Love it. Go Mopar
Aluminum/plastic dual outlet master cylinder in 63? I don't think so.
Yes I know a guy who has one & his has the single master cylinder with 4 wheel drums lol along with the factory cast iron exhaust manifolds never molested like parts of this car .
Perfectly imperfect.
Perfectly imperfect.
This showing is like bringing a pie to the table and not letting ya taste it,start that wedge
Original 'patina':Priceless.
Wow I know your not going to believe this but I’m almost 100 percent sure that car came out of Bakersfield if I’m not mistaken that car and several other factory light weight car belonged to I believe the Hudson brothers I used to go by there house and chat with them he told me that back in the day he worked for Dick Landry they had one of Dicks factory race cars and like said a couple others One said I believe the Elbandito on the Door so cool I believe Mr Hudson car seen a little street racing to just what I was told 😊
The Brownie Muffler sticker on the side window. Brownie Muffler was a Bakersfield company.
WOW, 7300 RUNS ON THAT ENGINE, I DOUBT THATS ORIGINAL BUT YEAH THATS AMAZING, 11 SECOND VEHICLE? AS UGLY AS THEY WERE THEY SURE RAN STRONG, LOVE THOSE HEADERS
Tandem master cylinder upgrade
Cool! In 1983 I was 16. I bought a 63 330 for $150. It had poly 318 and push button auto, 39000 miles. At the time it was 20 years old - seemed so old at the time. This brings back some great memories. After I sold it in 85 the next owner made a max wedge clone with a 440.
