Volleyball Launcher 2 0 SD 480p
Along time ago I made a volleyball launcher so my daughter could practice her setting and I promised myself I would revamp it to make it better. Here is the completed project after 25 years of sitting around my garage and it appears to work better than the original. It is more mobile and is less bulky. You can change the trajectory of the ball easier. Now the next generation, my granddaughters, will be able to carry on the tradition of practicing with the help of this device.

(Redid this video of my pickleball launcher). I decided to make a machine myself because I couldn't afford a market made one. Having the challenge of a small shop, I wanted a welding table that would slide under my work bench but not be so low as to be uncomfortable to work on. It has two 110v electric screw type actuators that raise and lower the table top. ...

Simple DIY Ladder Lift Asphalt Shingles on the Roof

All the Ladder Lifts I saw on TH-cam were too labor intensive and so I designed my own with stuff I had around the house. It took about 90 minutes to make. I was fortunate to have a 110v winch laying around but noticed that Harbor Freight has one with a discount for $135. You may think that is too much to spend and would settle for rooftop delivery but I saved $480 by doing it myself. It's wort...

    Thanks, David. I loved it and did a large chunk of my roof in May 2024. I am 67 and it worked beautifully. I used my HF 2000# 12v winch with a seperate power supply. I did have one problem where the pulley ring did bend, I repaired it using a 1" solid iron bar I had available and continued the project. I did it alone using 2 extension ladders, one I climbed, the other for the shingle escalator. Wish I looked at this 5 years prior when doing another roof alone!!

    Exactly what I was looking for - I can move the shingles up to my roof by hand BUT...being a one man show, I won't have enough energy to do anything else that day if I burn my energy and break my back man handling these up a ladder. Every little thing helps and this is a big one!

      It’s been a while, and each city may vary its requirements. But the 3 inch metal pipe was put in the ground somewhere around 60+ inches. I poured over 2 yards of concrete for the eight post. That’s California with its over regulated requirements.

    Pinch point occurs at 26 seconds on this video. Homemade or factory produced, always be aware of pinch and shear points on equipment. If the trolley breaks loose with the young man's hands on the ladder rung, all of his fingers will be severed. Of course, it doesn't happen. However the assumption should always be that the equipment failure will happen at some point. The operator loads and then steps away. Hands are kept clear of any pinch or shear points. If equipment failure occurs everyone walks away and has their hands to work another day.

    • @2edge4him
      @2edge4him ปีที่แล้ว

      Great observation. He should also step to the side as there is no strong reason to be there after the trolley proceeds upward. Thanks for pointing that out.

    Great simple idea. Question. Do you think it would work with a Little Giant Ladder? I'm looking to hoist 100 lbs.

    • @2edge4him
      @2edge4him ปีที่แล้ว

      The weight is probably not a problem but if I remember how the Little Giant Ladder is built the locking mechanisms on the side of the ladder rails may be in the way of the guides on the sled. You have to think of the ladder as a train track with no joints, bolts, connection points, etc that would restrict the smooth gliding of the sled. Two parallel 2x4’s on edge as tracks may work but I don’t know your situation. Hope this helps.

    Please reinforce those brackets. 2 more maybe.

    • @2edge4him
      @2edge4him ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a problem to add more brackets if you want the added security. According to the manufacturer those brackets are rated at 1,000 lbs each. It was never my intent to overload the lift keeping the load at less than two or three bundles ( approximately 250lbs). Better to make more passes up the ladder taking a few extra minutes to get the shingles on the roof safely. Be safe and thanks for your suggestion.

    I know I’m very late to this video but can you explain how you made it?

    • @2edge4him
      @2edge4him 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be a very long explaination but basically it works by a air piston that punches the ball out. An air compressor charges the piston cylinder by a pressure valve, that is tripped by a switch.
