Who cares if he was alcoholic, he certainly didn't. He achieved everything he wanted to in life and more importantly did it how he wanted to with no compromise. He had more gumption than most and knew alot at an early age. The fact is even the people he fell out with over the years like band members admired and respected him - says alot. If he didn't see himself as an alcoholic (a victim) then I'll accept that. I think he was using alcohol to his advantage, artistically speaking even if it was slowly killing him. We've all got to die from something.
