Today in this video, I am going to show you a simple way to butcher a deer. It will make it much easier to further reduce on a chopping board in a kitchen.

Thank you for these clear and well presented videos. I’ve spent most of the weekend processing my first roe, with your videos playing in front of me, pausing and rewinding ! I’m just wondering what your opinion is about gently hosing down the carcass, with clean water, after skinning, to wash away any remaining hairs . Cheers Jon Cheshire
Hi Jon, thanks for your comments. I've never washed down any of my deer for fear of contamination. I usually just scrape any remaining hairs away.
What do you about the horrible waxy coating the deer fat leaves in your mouth after eating it?
Top man paddy, looks delicious
Thanks Des, not a fan of pasta or tomato sauce myself but the rest of the family love them.
Makes it look easy
Thanks Marielle, I have found this way works best for me. I hope others find it helpful.
Tim from PA USA Thank you

Thanks for sharing- Is there any trick that you use to remove the gamy smell
There is very little you can do. That gamy smell only comes from mature stags during the rut. As I hunt deer only suitable for the table, I mainly take females and stags under 30 months.
@@Healthymeatoptions Good to know, there is a hunter I know and he coats the meat with ginger and garlic minced together and when he cooks it helps remove some of the gamy smell.
That makes sense. If I do get a stag during the rut I usually make burgers and meatballs. I add spices to it also.
Tasty looking burgers 😋
Yeah,they look great
Fair play paddy, great job
Top man paddy. Save some for me
