I remember watching that scene when it aired loved it!

As a man, I was about 10 when I saw it, and it was the first scene I ever openly sobbed at.

This show was his breakout role and jump started his career

The writers of this show were absolue shite. They consitanclty took the show in the wrong direction. they always killed off the wrong people. and toward the end they showed their agenda by just killing off all the men and putting woman in charge of the entire world. HMM , Got an agenda do we????

I read the article on the George Stinney execution. How did they know he was innocent? Based on the descriptions I read it looked like he killed the 2 girls based on the evidence & location of their bodies. I mean I don’t know but when I put 2 & 2 together that’s what it comes to.

This is up there with Tywin and Arya dialogue.

If you look closely at the guy in the room with the switches & lever (Van Hay is his name), he didn’t want to be the guy who killed a guy who was proven innocent. He must’ve heard about John Coffey’s truth at some point in the movie before this very scene. My theory anyway.

It's very hard to believe the same people who wrote this scene also wrote seasons 7 and 8.

Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan acting was incredible in this movie.. I find this movie so good, and emotional.

I already know this scene. Had to pause it. Read everyone's comments. Felt like we were all holding hands. I love that. That feeling of oneness.

The way Dean looks up as if to say "God forgive me for this" knowing John is such a great and magical man

The sheer notion of an actor coming onto a show 4 seasons in that has this much of a stacked and talented cast and being this fucking awesome is so hard to fathom.

I literally stayed crying at the end it was so deep

Tyrion thought he was done for. A man whom he knows in his presence just protested his hatred for his family, and he was powerless to affect his position from Tyrion's situation. He wants to fight back but without a champion, his face is sealed and he felt as if there was no light in the end of the tunnel. That is, until Oberyn grabbed that torch. It lightened Tyrion's tunnel and gave him more hope in the supposed end of it. I think that it was intentional.

Love this scene cause it's almost identical to the books. Except Oberyn and Eliria traveled with their mother to casterly rock.

I really enjoyed watching this show. Every season.

Watching this scene now just makes me sad, knowing how the writing and logic just disintegrated into pure incoherence and stupidity by the end of the series,, thanks to the two idiot showrunners, Dumb & Dumbererer.

I would love to see an Oberyn movie where he gets to go off John Wick style on the Lannisters. Damn, that would be satisfying.

This is one of the stupidest movies I ever saw and it just proved how racism is alive and well, John Coffey performed miracles right in front of their eyes and they still killed him knowing that he didn't kill those two little girls, and what was Tom's punishment, oh he gets to live forever wow what a punishment 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Its the saddest film that I’ve ever watched and that’s no lie. I don’t even think another film comes remotely close to it if I’m honest in the history of filmmaking. This type of magic can never be recreated or remakednagain or ever topped today with the stuff being put out these days you just don’t get that type of level of acting and filmmaking no more
