I am hoping you do some deep dives on the flows you created. Yes we can read them, but it would be awesome to hear you, now that they are written go back through them and talk about why you choose what you did and what you might do different now. Maybe even post asking for people to send questions on flows and incorporate those questions in to your overview.

    Can we create custom nodes via Python? or do we really need to make a node? I mean cant we just use python node and write code in it for the functionality we want instead of creating a node from scratch. Because majority of the time it will be data extraction & transformation logic. This is just my view. I am just a noob in n8n space.

    • @n8n-io
      @n8n-io 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You can do both. The advantage of a custom node is reusability across projects, and maintainability. They're harder to build, and only supported on self-hosted instances for now though.

For instance, if I connect a "Send email" tool to the workflow in n8n and I ask "Hey Siri, Ask Agent, send an email to X asking X if she wants to reschedule the meeting for tomorrow", it will still try to use Apple's mail and contacts......

      Thanks so much for doing this. I realize things like this spur the utmost excitement 🤩 in our development lab 🧪 as we realize the impact this will make on our efforts, and particularly the efforts of others, if you're building this for people using n8n to benefit from. However, that can be a thankless job in reality when things hit the scene because people get too busy 🏃‍♂ being obsessed 🤔 over whether they're able to learn the concepts and implement them or not, and they forget that a real-life human 🧑‍💻 actually put all this together for us. So I just wanted to take the time and say thanks 🙏. As somebody who runs an automation agency 🤖 and has hundreds of clients, I know that the individual automator doesn't always appreciate the level of detail 🧐 necessary to successfully service other accounts, but there are many of us who do right now and many more that will as they build their businesses 📈. (I never realized how tolerant I was of my own errors and mistakes until I started having to deploy things for other people, haha!) 😂 I have a couple of ideas 💡 and questions ❓. Number one, I'd love to know more about the anatomy of your unit tests 🧩 in a low-code environment, as I'm not a developer by trade. I try to learn from developers as much as possible 🤓. The phone 📞 number thing was cool. I'd love to be able to see those workflows specifically. And I would assume there are several other foundational unit test opportunities that would commonly be used by people in our situations. Number two, I think that'd be an awesome series 📺 to have on your TH-cam channel 🎥. "The Developer's Mindset" playlist. It could cover concepts essential to software development that sometimes get overlooked in our low-code, no-code environment 🌐 (because we can kind-of get away without doing these things early in our development.) I'm sure this will all be a really helpful addition to our efforts to stay extremely agile 🏃‍♀ and yet extremely accurate 🎯 in our automation workflows. Thanks again! 🙌

    The N8N and Qdrant combination seems powerful - but not being able to UPSERT or update (or even delete points - which cannot be done unless you have a point id), this is kind of useless - unless we pretend that movies and books (data that never changes) is all that matters. In real-world scenarios information changes... making this a nice demo, but unusable in the real world. Which vector databases can do this with N8N? The video (at the end Q&A) mentions that this was done for other vector stores...?

    It would also be nice if you can share this notion knowledge base template as a “base” (empty) template, without all the populated data. besides being able to provide an example, i dont see the use case of it if i have to manually import all my own data into this template. How would i be able to batch upload my own “useful” data in this specific template.

    So this is all super nice, thanks for sharing! Im a big fan of N8N, and happily use it everyday to create new workflows. However, i do miss some easy to implement solutions, and easier data insertion capabilities, specifically batching seems all a little bit to complex when handling different file formats. Im in general quite new to this world, but i would love to see & learn more of it.

    If we are using this @qdrant system, do we need to involve LangChain? Or would the quadrant essentially replace the need for LangChain in almost all of our workflows?

    Great video and thanks for the template.. all seems to be working fine except getting an error at " Valid n8n workflow JSON? " - getting this error message "Cannot read properties of null (reading 'additional_kwargs')" . any ideas on how to fix.. not a tech savy person all this is very new to me. haha!

      I solved it by swapping the llm, but now I’m getting another error. Below is the error: { "errorMessage": "Parsing failed. Loved this! A few things: 1. Putting this out there-It's becoming a goal of mine to collaborate with Max on something 2. Have also noticed that providing an outline early in the workflow tends to get better and more fleshed-out results (esp with OpenAI models) 3. *Really* curious as to any emerging standards on how to split test models/serial agents versus single agents thanks for the great content guys!
