    Thanks for the video, it inspired me to test some Hetzner configs yesterday evening: using Ploi or Enhance as control panel, NGiNX or OpenLiteSpeed as web server, and most interesting IMHO AMD or ARM as Hetzner config. Those Hetzner CAX configs are really nice, especially if you have a site with lots of uncached content, as you get a lot of independent CPUs and lots of RAM. Maybe that's something you'd like to test as well? One thing I noticed, however, was that in all my tests the value für «importing large amount of data into database» was extremely poor, and nowhere near the values you got - ususally the value was under 1, and in one case I got 2.18, but never any higher (on CPX21 and CAX21). Any idea why that may be? And finally: if you ever decide to continue your great series of Control Panels testing, Enhance and CloudPanel would make for really interesting candidates!

      Hi Philippe, Thanks for your elaborate comment! The large amount of cores and RAM is indeed a great offering, especially given the price. I also experience the same, my results for some newer tests also seem to be off for the test you mentioned (and one another test as well). Either, something is off with newer versions of ubuntu / mariadb, or the test plugin itself, or a combination. I encounter this error across providers as well unfortunately. And thanks for the suggestions also, unfortunately my time is very limited nowadays, but I will put these on my list. I hope to release a video on the FlyWP panel soon.

    My personal experience with ChemiCloud... ChemiCloud - MISLEADING PROMISES AND BLATANT DECEPTION I reached out to ChemiCloud through their live chat with some questions. A couple of days later, I got an email claiming, "I have a special offer for you-exclusive and not available anywhere else." This so-called exclusive offer turned out to be a big nothing burger. Their marketing tactics feel manipulative and disrespectful. As a customer, I expect honesty and transparency, not misleading gimmicks. Their constant "teasing" approach is infuriating and makes me feel exploited. This experience has shattered any goodwill I had for ChemiCloud. I can't recommend their services; they clearly have no intention of fulfilling their promises. Customers deserve much better than this blatant deception.

    • @makeitworkpress7253

      True! So the answer is: it depends. The short answer: if you don't need a lot of RAM for specific purposes (e.g. caching or some processing that requires a lot of RAM), I'd pick AMD. But it's up to you what you prefer. The long answer: You''ll have more RAM on intel 8GB, so if you're heavily relying on caching and cache to RAM, the intel machine gives you more room. And you can run more processes that require a lot of ram Now the intel machine has slower cores and slower disks (as you can see from the test), and the AMD is faster in that regard. Since WordPress is single threaded, I think chances are big that AMD is running faster, especially for anything that can't be cached such as back-end operations. Also, the 4GB AMD package has 3 cores, which is a big advantage here - it's pretty close to intels 4 cores, and AMD cores are a lot faster. Some of the WordPress benchmarks shown here are all very related to the core speed, and less to the amount of cores. The load test (the test in the command-line) where you see the number of requests, is related to the number of cores and scales up quite nicely to some extent. As you can see, AMD was a lot faster here as well, and will likely be able to handle more requests with 3 cores compared to 4 cores from intel.

    I recommend your next video. For newbies, you can start from the first step by step and don't expect the viewer to know anything. I have been with Sightground for one year, and you are right. The usability of this site is a little sticky. Could you walk me step by step, including changing the theme and choosing a pre-built site from the theme provider? Every click must be covered, including configuring the security, cache, lightspeed, and other settings. After it is all setup, show how to work within the WP Theme to change the pages, menus, texts, images., etc. I hope this is helpful to you. You got a good start. Yes, it would help if you also worked on improving the audio. Noted below.

    • @makeitworkpress7253
      @makeitworkpress7253 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not tested that, and I doubt it will work wonderfully out of the box. If trying, is advised to exclude all relevant WooCommerce urls in you LiteSpeed Cache CDN settings (e.g. /cart, /order, etc) and see if all dynamic parts work correctly. Cache (including CDN / Quic.cloud cache) should be purged when updating content (prices/inventory), but in my experience it can take some time before a CDN cache is fully updated on all locations. For the first question: I am not sure, but i believe if you run out of credits, it will resort to the free plan. Meaning, the CDN only works from six locations in Europe and the United States.

In the end, it is always advised to do external backups at one or more locations in the case of dataloss at data center level. The multi-core performance is excellent for the Xeon based servers (for applications with many users), and the Ryzen based servers have excellent single core performance (for cpu intensive applications such as databases, WordPress, etc). LiteSpeed is 1000%... Okay, but this is OpenLiteSpeed. But I understand, this is too faster like Nginx. :)

      Thanks for your comment! In my tests, it depends, OLS is a bit faster in cached situations but a lot slower when caching is turned off (e.g. for back-end operations and web-shops)

      As I don't really need elaborate statistics, I'm using Cloudflare statistics. Otherwise, I think Matomo is best indeed.

      Runcloud supports open lite speed pretty well, and otherwise you could also try Cloudpages (although this is from the folks behind CyberPanel as well) or blaqpanel (from JohnyWP, great guy)

    Ok. Complete noob here. Happened to come across Forge as a service. At first i thought you could use forge to also create a server, but if i am correct i need to set up a server elsewhere (hosting company) and connect it with Forge? I am just looking for an easy way to install wordpress and get sites up and running for my niche projects.

    • @makeitworkpress7253
      @makeitworkpress7253 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, you need a separate server at a hosting or cloud provider! However, I would recommend GridPane or Runcloud if you are just starting out, or a managed service such as Cloudways (they include the server)

    Does each web app run as its own user so they cant write over each others files?

    • @makeitworkpress7253
      @makeitworkpress7253 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Joe, you can create system users in Runcloud and assign them to each app you create (during creation). In that sense, apps are isolated and users can't access each others files. It's a good practice to put each app under a separate system users, especially if each app serves a different client.

      It most likely means that VEPP already has been installed on that server, you need to deinstall VEPP from that server (and possible delete, or reset and restart the server and connect it again)

    The information is good. The voice comes across as a combination of sounding slightly bored and the presentation is improvised. While it is important to show the screens and what information to click / select, consider investing or renting a camera so the viewer can see who is making the presentation. Even if the face is shown only at the beginning and end. It is subjective, but there is a comfort is being able to associate a face with the information being presented. Please, do not give up.
