Hi there. Thanks for the great question. Given the types of brands I have access to in Hawaii, I am happy and do not regret the purchase. There has been some wear and tear with the plates but just cosmetic. Hawaii is very humid so there is some rust but nothing out of control. I have not had any issue with the set screws coming loose or breaking. But because my home gym is on the 2nd floor of our townhome, I don't drop the dumbbells. So I can't speak to the results after several drops. The screws are removable. Would just need to find replacements. I hope this helps. Hi there. Many apologies for the long wait. I have not been able to get the long locking pin so I cannot say with 100% certainty the stats from Eisenlink's website is accurate. But here is what I was able to obtain: The long pin is 6.77 inches or 172mm (not including the knurled handle). Total length of the long pin plus handle is 7.2 inches or 185mm. The standard pin (the one I have) is 3.63 inches or 92mm (not including the knurled handle). Total length of the standard pin plus handle is 105mm. I find this stat hard to believe, but long pin (according to Eisenlink's website) is 2.5lbs or 1.1kgs. Which is the same weight as the standard pin that I have. I’ve already made a rough version of your design with some modifications. I think I’ll be moving mine around my home gym a fair amount so I expanded the base width and added outer walls that match the dimensions of the center “rack” that the plates sit on. That should make moving it easier. I still need to add end caps but I was also considering some kind of handles, maybe a cut-out on the end caps.

Hi. You are correct. The 2.5 lb plates are thinner. The 2.5 lb plate is 1/4 in. thick or about 6.35 mm. The 5 lb plate is 3/8 in. thick or about 9.5 mm. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions. Thanks so much for watching!

Hi. That is a good question. I could be wrong but I think Eisenlink hit the market first but they may not be the manufacturer. They are made overseas, and likely sold to various companies. Kinda like how the same hex dumbbells are sold by various brands. I could be wrong though. Sorry if this does not provide concrete information. Thanks for watching!

@@123.MikeCheck Quick question: given the way the weights slot onto the sleeves, do you think if you turned them upside down when fully loaded they might potentially slip out? I'm worried about them being above my face when benching and not being secure. Thanks again.

Assuming the weight of the dumbbell does not exceed it’s listed capacity, I think that as long as the set screws are seated into the plate in front of it and the locking pins are tightly secured, I would feel comfortable with pressing movements, even if held upside down. @@123.MikeCheck I found the weight of each magnet by asking the internet query, "What is the weight of the HFT 250 lb and the 150 pull retrieving magnets" on an AI website. If you are considering using other magnets from other manufacturers, I suggest you research the weight of each magnet by using an AI research website.

Hi there. I'm sure each set is different so I wanted to test the weight accuracy of my 50lb (22.7kg) set and am satisfied with how close it is. The other experiment was just to see how much I could physically load using the locking pin that came with my set. Turns out you can fit a maximum of 95lbs (43.1kg) which is more than its listed weight. But caution should be used when using more than the listed weight capacity. I hope this answers your question. I've seen it become available but these pins are growing in demand so they sell out fairly quick. Thanks for the tip. That code would come in very handy. I am REALLY tempted by this as I could do a lot with it. My only hesitation is the height. I think it might be a touch too tall for my space.

@@123.MikeCheck believe it or not there’s a really big demand but I know that in the works they have one that has either a detachable pull up bar or an option without a pull up bar. I would just wait to get that one if I were you it’ll probably have other enhancements as well. I think the height is 88 inches or somewhere close to that so it’s too much for a lot of people. at the end of the day I’m looking for a product like yourself that doesn’t take up that much space that’s going to be high-quality and that I am actually gonna wanna use and that can bring me results and I feel like this product is the one. Gonna make a video just like yourself and explain why I’m gonna get it too

those may slide out, this is why they added looking screws on the holder to the plates, so it wont slide out be careful

These are durable enough to be dropped from a reasonable height during normal use. Having padded floor covering helps too. I personally do not have any concern if they are dropped. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Hi. Not sure if you saw my follow up video of the 30lb expansion kit. I did a quick unboxing which showed a foam insert that it shipped in.
