    I love this idea. My only concern would be the time between the posts being installed to the time it takes to get the panels made and back out to the job. Most of our customers have dogs and even a day or 2 with the yard open gets them cranky sometimes

    • @MrEricknudsen
      @MrEricknudsen หลายเดือนก่อน

      This system can be faster depending on the producer. The fence can go in fabrication starting immediately after posts are set and measured. In a shop, daylight hours no longer dictate. You could literally return to install the following morning taking about 4 minutes per panel assuming you felt the concrete was properly cured. Then go set posts at your next job and repeat… Can’t get more efficient or attain higher quality.

      That is the time onsite for the panel install with a crew. Mark post heights following software, cut posts to height, install caps, install panels. Takes about 15 minutes per panel for one person to cut and fabricate working offsite including all steps. (Not including prestaining)

    ArcSite is a much superior software for fencing. This doesn’t seem to account for needing to offset your posts.

    • @fencegenius
      @fencegenius 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Apples and Oranges.... ArcSite is a software for an entirely different purpose. Fence Genius and the surrounding technology is the only platform to enable offsite prefabrication of post to post unique, software designed and directed fabrication. If your building fence onsite, your building fence panels on posts.... Why the reservations to building the same or better custom panels in a more efficient environment? Better quality control, inventory on hand, and a mouse click to the next jobsite 6 hours into the fabrication day....

    • @GiveWarAChance375
      @GiveWarAChance375 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@fencegenius it’s a logistic nightmare at our scale. We would need double the SF to accommodate all the panels and moving crews out daily. Twice as much driving than needed, not scared of a little weather, work year round, only see this causing problems onsite delaying new jobs, already twice as scheduled out for installs as our nearest competitor, and make a good six figure income doing what I do. This is not practical for commercial installers, at least not around here. There are way too many issues come up in a regular basis weather it be unmarked utilities, huge boulders, old fence post concrete hard as rock, and so on. Customers change their mind the day of, or even midway into building the fence. The delays this would cause in the production process would be business losing and that’s not something a strong company will risk. You might get some new guys with just a crew starting out, seasonal, not worried about over spending or overhead….but seasoned professionals won’t likely even give you a chance, or stick with you long after running into a few issues. What’s your longest client? I’m trying to help you as a business, bc I think there is potential for specific applications, but your normal fence builder is gonna have a hard time with this. I’m certain this isn’t the first time you’ve heard this.

  • @fencegenius

    This is essentially flat but if you pay attention to the Build Rack settings you will see it is actually moving up and down, panel by panel. Before we built we layed out the posts, in this case with a high degree of confidence we could put posts where we laid them out, then we captured the elevations using a ZipLevel. With that information, the Fence Genius software guided us to prefabricate all the panels Offsite and then we Daisy Chain Installed them. Incredibly efficient, yet custom built for every Post to Post location!

    When you are first hanging the panel what is the attachment point between the post and fence? Looks like a piece of hardware on the post side - is there a corresponding piece on the panel side?

    • @fencegenius
      @fencegenius 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Part of the process isn't shown in this video but is shown in earlier MyFence videos. Our iOS App prompts the installer with the exact post cutoff height measurement, from the top of the uncut post and it also prompts to install 2 temporary hanging screws by telling us the measurements to the bottom of the top rails. After temporarily distributing and hanging, we go back and screw all panels to posts, removing that temporary screw. In this case, one person installed, and one installed final screws.

    Have yall ever done 1x4 on both sides so both faves are identical or is the support simply not enough? Thinking about doing a 4ft high fence in identical style to this.

    • @MrEricknudsen
      @MrEricknudsen 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your question. If you’re referring to Nominal 1x4 WRC Trim, with Actual dimensions 5/8x3-1/2 or 4 in our case, no, this would not be enough support structurally. (Even for a 4’ tall fence.) If perhaps you are using a true 3/4x4 Actual size, when you double that by applying to both sides I would guess it may hold up OK for a 4’ tall fence. Assuming proper knot structure and nailing process. But not something we would ever do. Both sides of our fences are equally as attractive. And the screws are uniformly placed in the rails to post location so they are also aesthetically pleasing. Thanks for watching

    Thats a beautiful fence. How did you attach the panels to the posts?

    • @MrEricknudsen
      @MrEricknudsen 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We pre drill 2 pilot holes in every rail end during prefabrication and as we take the panels off the trailer we conveniently pre set the screws before carrying to the installation location. On the posts we have a temporary screw set based on the software algorithms direction, which also dictates the post cutoff height, to rest the top rail of the panel on, temporarily supporting the panels. Then once all panels are set, we come back to fine adjust and screw the #10, 4” long exterior screws into the posts.

    @shaynepeters6048 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    How did you get all the gaps between the posts exactly even?

    • @fencegenius
      @fencegenius 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. With the Fence Genius software, posts do not need to be exactly even. Rather after the posts are set, we measure the distance apart, any grade change, amount of post available, and any post to post rotation. From that point the software calculates a solution, and prompts us how to fabricate it offsite in a controlled environment with better tooling.
