I was Catholic for 8 years ,went to a catholic church noi one knew christ ,no one was saved. I never heard the saving power of christ ,The bible was always secondary in Catholicism, The catholic focus was tradition, heavy attention on mary and mary worship, some call it interveneing . I left wondered around in sin like millions of others that called themselves catholic. I finally found christ , Amazing experience to this day, i went back to the catholic church for a funeral, The church is as dead as ever, Catholic pride comes before christ. Catholics humble Yourselves before christ . Seek his face . I was just like you a catholic, luke warm full of pride, jesus is the rock not peter, This is the stumbling block for Catholics. Uncertain. The mass is above all a celebration, a Thanksgiving. However from a certain point of view silence and even austerity should be observed, fine but one is left too often without joy and laughter....if we remember to serve the Lord with these? From many masses across the pond away from 'conservative' America, a more diverse cultural explosion has caused/is causing great exuberance at the mass. Our own Nigerian priest would have clapping and full laity participation where it often seemed the mass was like a gospel choir of praise the lord...needless to say the local hierarchy is in full support and church attendance is rocketing.... The use of hand puppets for rejoicing at places like Lourdes is so overwhelmingly glorious, one can almost feel the Holy Spirit dancing with the crowds. Beautiful and Holy. So this is a warning, probably a reaction against the po-faced precious declaration of sacredness being about solemnity over rejoicing... That old way is no longer always appropriate to modern worship and the desire for greater intimacy amongst the faithful.

He did say Jesus Christ at least 2 times, and Christ multiple times, the Holy Ghost, and God countless times... perhaps you should pay more attention to the speech instead of nitpicking. "As members of the Church founded by Jesus Christ, it is our duty and ultimately privilege to be authentically and unapologetically Catholic. Don't be mistaken, even within the Church, people in polite Catholic circles will try to persuade you to remain silent." "Congress just passed a bill where stating something as basic as the biblical teaching of who killed Jesus could land you in jail." "Never be afraid to profess the one holy, Catholic, and apostolic Church, for this is the Church that Jesus Christ established, through which we receive sanctifying grace."

To be clear my friend, I truly LOVED Butker's speech. I loved everything about it except the 2 parts he erred on. Are you saying that we should keep silent and not point out these 2 errors that are wrong? That would contradict what Butker said himself: "people in polite Catholic circles will try to persuade you to remain silent." You can't have your cake and eat it too here amigo. Just because he said 98% great things does not alleviate him from the 2% he said in error. Truth matters. It just so happens that Butker was wrong about 2 essentials; namely, 1) Life, and 2) the Mass, which is the Source and Summit of our Faith and where we can receive the Bread of Life. So just because he said key words like Jesus and Holy Ghost and other very wonderful and very true things, it does not trump the fact that he said two erroneous things. This video is titled "Harrison Butker Speech REVIEW". This is what's done in a REVIEW. What went well? What needs improvement? Simple. Try to look at it more objectively with your intellect than with your emotions. That might help. I hope you and I agree that Butker inspired countless souls to SPEAK UP and this is a good thing. Not to remain silent. There is a time to speak up and a time to remain silent. We must speak up if someone says something contrary to our Catholic faith. Butker does not get carte blanche carte just because he said 98 good things and is a famous professional kicker. That would not be fair. He must be held accountable just like he wants all those he called out to be accountable. Thus, we must applaud his 98 good things he said yet hold him accountable for the 2 wrong things he said. But, maybe I'm wrong. You and I have gone back and forth on this quite a bit now. What do OTHERS think about these 2 things please? Was Butker right or wrong to imply NFP was bad and same as contraception? Was Butker right or wrong to say TLM should be a priority such that you should move to a place that has it readily available? I think Butker was WRONG on these 2 counts. TrumpWonJoeCheated thinks Butker was NOT WRONG on these 2 counts. We WELCOME YOUR thoughts. Thanks and God bless.

All I said was that I did not see any errors in his speech, and that I was fine with you making the same speech defending the NO. The problem I found strange is that the NO crowd I came across are having issues with Trad. Catholics...I meanwhile have no issues with you or others, attending the NO mass, you do your things, I (along with many others) prefer the worship style used by the majority of saints of the church for over a thousand years. Stop insisting otherwise. Look up (deep dive) how Vatican II came about, the motivation and the individuals behind it, if you dare. I did.

Didn’t Butker “kickoff” (spark) this topic? If so, did I “fumble” and miss the part where you mentioned him? The pink elephant chief in the room? Sola TLM is a wrong Protestant mindset. Seems Butker subscribes to that wrong mindset. If so, his “playbook” is wrong. Otherwise, great show, thanks! On target: daily Mass is way more important than which Mass! It’s not the “what” of the Mass but the “Who” of the Mass! It’s more fair to compare a Miles Christi or an Opus Dei Mass to a TLM Mass. Back in the day when the TLM Mass was the Normative Mass there were many problems with people there too. But they didn’t runaway and go regress to an older Mass and say see this is the Mass of the ages because we have folks dressed properly, and all these other externals. Pope Francis like a good father is forcing two siblings to hold hands and work it out. After your forced to hold hands or hug then it’s hard to be upset at each other (we’ve tried that parental tactic before too, it works) Jimmy Akin is right about almost everyone - EXCEPT that he seems to fail to believe that Joseph was a man in his PRIME and always a manly VIRGIN, not an elderly widower with some alleged first wife and some six kids. Shocking he seems to subscribe to that. Another topic Butker was wrong on was he strongly implied NFP is contraception. Absolutely wrong. Please do another show on this. Take him to task with charity and help him (and us) see that NFP is good while Contraception is sinful / evil. Otherwise, Butker’s talk was great! Thanks bros! PS: a proper normative Holy Mass is objectively “richer” than the non-normative Holy Mass of the TLM because it has much more Scripture! Many more feastdays! Many more Holy Mass options! Many more prayers and blessings! And it is in union with Rome and the Pope! And it’s the holy desire of the Holy Spirit as per the Church’s last Council. Challenge to my Sola TLM brethren: don’t runaway in little boats but stay aboard Mother Ship and help fix problems at the parish with us! We need you! Man up! Can you imagine any MAN moving out of his home and living in a hotel and then from afar criticising his wife and kids for how “bad” they are running the home? Why you let those clowns in and run my home? You’re doing it wrong! Stop that! You shouldn’t do that! Etc. Reminder: (wife sends hubby a “manly” message) “Hey sweetie, it’s your fault. You’re missing in action- MIA!” We need you guys. But don’t hide behind your online identities. Get your hands dirty in the real world and help fix your local parish! Man up!

TLM - reverence, respect and focuses on our Lord. The dress code-Sunday's best. There are booklets to help with the flow of the mass. As a TLM person, there is no side to take, the focus should be on our Lord, period. As for the TLM "group" that won't attend any other mass except TLM, the same can be said for those who attended NO with exactly the same strong feelings about NO mass...the Tra. are not the only ones who feel strongly about their worship style. BTW Mr. Chris Martin is so based.

Your early leaders condoned the torture and slaughter of non-Cath. Christians. I can't find that Good Word in the Gospel. Certainly doesn't sound Christ inspired. @@RomeBoys thanks, cool. Should we do one on NFP? Do fish need water? He, and many, are so ignorant about NFP! It is NOT contraception. NFP = good. Contraception = evil. Pope St JPII “NFP is the MOST important pastoral work of the Church today.” A couple can’t “use” NFP with a contraceptive mentality anymore than someone can abstain from Big Mac’s on Fridays with a vomitting mentality. As Dr Scott Hahn’s wife Kimberly said in a podcast, at worse a couple who is selfish and abstains during the fertile time commits a venial sin, not mortal sin. NFP is simply fertility awareness. Truth liberates. God does not want us to ignore our body signs. Can you imagine someone today who is anti-thermometer? No. Well maybe an Amish. We gain knowledge by our temp and then use our FREEDOM to then either go to the doc or not. Pope St Paul VI’s was RIGHT in his Encyclical HV! There is a ginormous difference between NFP and the evil of contraception. To miss this, as Butker seems to, is to miss the boat! Is to miss the field goal! NFP is a very pregnant topic (pun intended) and there’s much ignorance on both sides of it - meaning, ignorance by Rad Trads and Cafeteria Catholics. PS: did you know ALL Christians said contraception was evil / bad / sinful / don’t do it till 1930? Today the Catholic Church is the only game in town still preaching the truth on this. All the other boats threw in the towel on the truth on this. Only the Mother Ship still preaching the truth on this. Truth doesn’t change.

still waiting for any catholic to answer direct, clear, unambiguous Bible questions. if you do with integrity and accuracy, there is no possible way you will remain catholic - as it's not Christianity.

    • @Raul-pf2kq

So if catholics are not christian then who were the christians for the first 1500 years? Who were the ones being slaughtered by the romans for not denouncing Christ? Who were the ones that canonized the Bible and decided what books where divinely inspired and have protected sacred scripture for centuries. Who has been teaching and passing down the deposit of faith from generation to generation? Who where the people reading and teaching scripture to the lay people because they couldnt read for themselves? Even if they could read, nobody could afford a Bible since they had to be hand written because there wasnt a printing press until the 15th century. Did Chrsitianity just come up out of nowhere in the 16th century? How does that work? Did Jesus wait that long for people to receive the "truth"? Can you answer me that with some integrity and historical accuracy?

@@Raul-pf2kq there are some catholics who are Christian, out of just not knowing what Truth is -- but Sir, catholicism is a knock off of God's church - they don't follow His Word and follow paganism. you won't know this if you don't get a Christian Bible and study It. start with basics, do you believe God's church still upholds His Truths -- as 1 Tim 3:15 states? do you believe God's people still show love to Jesus Christ -- as John 14:15 says?

@@tony1685 You completely ignored my questions? Why wont you answer them? The apostolic faith is Christianity and its the original. You will not find Sola Fida, Sola Scriptura, pre-destination, once saved always saved or anything else related protestantism in the early Church. I have read THE Bible, maybe you should try reading a complete Bible instead of a protestant bible. Until you realize that not everything was written down and that there were teachings taught through word to mouth you will never understand the apostolic faith. The word of God is an essential and a pillar of the truth in the Catholic faith. Why would the church prioritize its compiling in a council if they were not going to follow it? Why is scripture read in the mass if the Church doesnt follow it? Also you saying that Catholicis follow paganism completely disproves your credibility to even speak of Catholicism. I would suggest you actually looking into what the Church believes and teaches before making these fallacy's. You would be surprised on how many things people make up and lie about simply because they hate the Catholic Church.

@@Raul-pf2kq keep them all Biblical, friend -- not subjective, as that's how catholics bow out of discussions. notice, my questions are found in God's Word. your theories are dependent upon what a sinful man tells you. then you're also spamming me. meaning you're putting up entirely too many questions for one to possibly answer with accuracy, since there isn't space enough. this again is why Christians focus on God's Word, which answers Bible questions clearly and without question.

I became a Christian in 1994, and that's all that God recognises. It amazes me as to the small mindedness of those that think they have a monopoly on the creator of the universe because of their decision to be called catholic. I love the Lord Jesus Christ more than life itself, and only call myself Christian. Christianos.." belonging to Christ" BEWARE that many whom you ridicule have been chosen by God.

May I ask if you watched this episode in its entirety? Because if you did, one of the steps Steve Ray recommends is to love them more than you ever have. Not ridicule but pray for them. Rest assured that we do not believe we have a monopoly on the creator of the universe, but that we have the fullness of the faith being in the Catholic Church, that Jesus, the creator of the universe, founded. Congratulations on your 30 year anniversary of becoming a Christian.
