    Hello sister, my only way to get out of debt is straight up aggressive. Pb&js and ramen noodles everyday until it’s paid off, I only splurge on coffee because I’m at work for 16 hours usually. The slower ways get me confused and complacent. If everyone’s struggling with these tips just pay off debt aggressive even if you have ten dollars left after paying it off, lol

      Hey there! I am a fan of the aggressive approach to debt payoff. That’s definitely what I did when I had debt. However, I did slow down temporarily to build up my savings which proved to be the right move since we faced a tragedy shortly following. But yea, I love pb&j. We do what we have to do. 🙌🏾

    sometimes I forget that not every country is like Sweden where the standard is that you get paid at the 25 and all repeating bills are due end of the month to so automating your bills is super easy. I get my salary 25e all bills pay the 26:e the rest is for saving and eating.

    I now make $20.50 an hour so I’m hoping to save up to $20,000 in 7 months!! So I just estimated minus $1,000 for traveling and $2,980 for savings! That’s exactly $17,880 in 6 months! I already know that I’ll want to travel every few months so I will have some savings as well for both!! Hopefully I can make a savings account. I will also want to do some shopping with my first paycheck. I deserve it.

      Oh my, there’s many good ones out there & I haven’t tried them all yet 😆. I prefer the ones that are easy to use & free. I’ve tried EveryDollar, Goodbudget, Nerdwallet & Spending Tracker. I ended up sticking with Spending Tracker because it’s easy to use & it’s not connected to my bank accounts. But some people prefer connecting all their accounts in the budget app. If that’s the case with you, you may enjoy the EveryDollar app.

    I live in GA and moved here over 2 decades ago. GA and the South in general gets a bad rap as if everyone here is "racist", which is just not true. Honestly I have seen more active racism in the North. I will say that the issue is more being "Northern" and the reason for that is life moves a little slower in the South. You are expected to be polite even in more frustrating circumstances. However, Atlanta is more Northern hustle culture. If you move to a small town just look over the demographics. Many GA small towns are a mix of ethnicities and races. Generally that is what you want. Georgians are friendly people in general. It is not uncommon for total strangers to walk up to you and start a conversation here.

    My comment is for people on a really low budget. To lower your electricity bill and be less frustrated with cooking, baking and eating out. When you pick up food that contains rice, divide your meal in two or three portions. The food I pick up is the larger size. Sometimes I get three meals by adding a salad and some vegetables. I cook rice with vegetables and spice it up and freeze some in portions. I also make rice and peas dishes and do the same. I do the same with a lot of stewed beans and soups. I freeze some in containers for a meal. I end up not cooking everyday and just microwaving some meals. You can bake and freeze your muffins, loaves, and cakes. I slice the loaves and cakes, wrap them in plastic wrap before putting them in the freezer bags. I also buy the larger sizes of dish detergents, liquid soap for washing, toilet paper, etc., when they are on sale, so I don't have to buy those things every month. And don't forget to learn to shop when things are on sale.

    We all need to understand just because we want it doesn’t mean we should get it. Love below our means. Pay off debt as fast as you can. Try to not use a credit card, and if you do keep it under 1K. I do not pay internet. I refuse to pay internet to anyone. Other than my mortgage or car loan. But even that it’s best to try and give a second payment. If for any reason you have to use a credit card. Don’t keep using it, just use the minimal. Living below your means helps so much., pack a sandwich for lunch.

    I saved up money from cans and bottles we found when me and my daughter went with the dog. My dad brings the cans and bottles to the supermarket and gets money for it. And my dad he put it in savings for my daughter. I am saving for braces for my daughter. When she hits puberty she gets the braces and i can pay it of in one time.

    I started budgeting when i got my first apartment 40 years ago. I don't understand why people don't budget. Nobody taught me to do a budget, it was common sense. I don't spend extra money unless I've thought about that item for a few months. Like last year i bought myself a new stereo for $1500. I saved for it for several months and got it for myself for Christmas. I prefer not automating my bills because my disability check comes on different dates and I'd rather pay when i get the check. I'm on a fixed income and i save $300-$500 a month. I prefer saving cash. It's put in an envelope and don't touch it. My savings is to fix stuff, vet bills, car repairs etc so I'm using the savings too often to put it into a minimum balance acct.

      @@debt2none well, i messed up the first month in my very first apartment and had to ask Mom for help, and it was so humiliating that i swore I'd never allow that to happen again and started budgeting and it never did happen again.

    I rolled over my 401k from my last job into an IRA. I have yet to find all 401ks from my previous jobs and roll them all into the IRA. I couldn't get a Roth IRA because 401ks don't automatically roll into Roth IRA without a tedious process, plus penalty fees (withdrawal and taxes). I am going to use these tips to invest in an automated bond ladder instead of a CD. I aim to keep my bond ladder for several installments and invest in at least 1 share in the S&P 500 by the end of 2025

    I finally have a job where I make enough to pay my bills/debt and then have a good amount of money left over. My issue is not spending the extra money on nonsense and then having to use the credit cards im trying to pay off. This is a test of discipline for me 😭

    • @debt2none
      @debt2none หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ohhhhh yeah! I know how that is. For years, I would do the same with my extra money. Self discipline isn’t easy, but you’ve got everything you need to zero out the credit cards and build a nice savings. 🙌🏾 That’s a blessing to be making enough. Use it to your advantage. You got this!!! Make your money work for you. You’re the Boss.😘
