Esü is pronounced [Ay-shu] - Esü is a trickster and there is no devil in Yoruba religion maybe angry otherworldly forces. The first Nigerian catholic priest was tasked with translating the bible. He translated the devil to Esü which you can imagine caused confusion. He went on to correct his mistake but the damage was done. Although we may be Muslim, Christian’s or follow the Ifa system, we (Yoruba people) still say “ani ri Esü”, when things go left as a way to “rebuke misfortune” Lovely video x

My great great grandmother was of yoruba descent her & mother where santeros powerful priestesses in the late 1800s but despite they have been dead for centuries recent dives into my spirituality shows that they are active in my life & are trying to push me to the faith but I decline.

I have a problem of not being able to control my powers, which can cause me to harm people if they Enger my, "if you Enger me, something bad happens to you" how do I control that?

Orisa in English translates to god's sake hy the hell is ogun called god of iron or sango god of thunder although they're originally aspects of olodumare ,in here we view them still as god's cause that's the only word to describe their might

Thank you for sharing this video content! I am trying to get a good grasp on the Orishas. Are they real spiritual beings who once lived in the region of the Oyo empire, or are they folklore characters? No disrespect intended to my tribal Ancestors and Elders, I just want to know if we are looking at non-fiction. Thank you kindly 🙏

Hotep Cultists, take note. Instead of turning a white dynasty (Ptomoleys) black, or turning other Pharoahs black, consider making films and stories covering the actual Black Pharaohs of Kush instead. I was really interested in this video when it was required of me in college, and am glad to have watched it.

My family didn’t practice the Yaruba religion but my grandfather was very young and died a tragic death and my grandmother essentially said that the first grandson would be him reincarnated and that was me. So I was named after him.
