Maymay Sewed It
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 ม.ค. 2023
I am excited to bring you along on my sewing journey, I sewed before I paper crafted now I am back at it! I am even trying my hand at quilting. I want to do my best to teach you something about fabric, even if it is what not to do!
2 Hour Sewing Project Spring Wreath Sash and a little Applique´
This fun sewing project will make a great addition to an old wreath that needs a bit of freshening up!
I made my sash as follows:
Cut a 10" x width of fabric piece for the sash. Extend the sash by cutting an additional 10" strip and sewing together at the center.
My sash before sewing was 10 x 72
Fold in half and cut an angle on each end, sew right sides together at open side with a 1/4 inch seam allowance, leaving space to turn the sash right side out.
Top stitch, tie on your wreath and your done!

I am still trying my hand at getting my sweatshirt designing just right. I think this may be the way. Just a simple piece of fabric with the design stitched to it and applied to the shirt. We found the letters on Pinterest, we just searched fabric alphabet letters. They are 4 inch letters. There are lots of free printables out there to choose from and many different fonts.
Super easy block that really shows off the fabric!

I love the Hemingway pouches that @centerstreetquilts created. As I watched her create I wondered if I could use my As Many As Technique with her idea and get two from one. I worked! Fabric makes As Many As pretty easy, we can make fabric any size we want! lol If you are new to this channel, check out my other channel @MaymayMadeIt for paper crafting. For the supplies I used in the video today ...
Hi, I just love this video, and cant wait to try it out. Question..will this work with direcional fabric? Im trying to imagine if the 2nd top pouch will have its printing upside-down. Thank you for the video!
I have this pattern and I thought why can’t I get two small or medium pouches from 3 FQs?!? Thank you for this tutorial
I love your accent and sense of humor about your sewing. You do a great job! Thanks for sharing the tip on making 2 bags from one piece of fabric!
I was at a Quilt Retreat this weekend and a lot of women were making the Hemingway bag. I was working on other things but watching them make it. Your instructions are so much more clear than how they were doing it. I’m making one tomorrow afternoon thank you.
You are brilliant!
I recently bought the Hemingway pattern and watched a few videos about it, but your method is the best. I love the two for one approach and no waste is the cherry on top! Thank you!!
Great video!
This is a great tutorial, thank you.
Just a tip you can use the Elmer’s glue stick ,,, it’s washable and it works and is cheaper. Love your letters.
It's adorable. 😊
Thanks for the great instructions!
You did very well. I give you all the credit in the world.Grea SCt job. job.!!!😊
I love this idea and the video too. I'm hoping to try to do something like it soon 😊
This is a great video. Very easy to understand. And great demonstration. Be looking for all your videos. Thanks for sharing.
I loved this. I will make some for gifts. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing this tutorial! I just made my first sash!
Loved this video. Made two pouches today. 1st time adding a zipper to anything. I'm not afraid anymore. Lol. The pouches turned out great. Wish I could should a picture.
What size was your rectangle?
I just realized I have the same Singer Quantum as you. Now I feel that I have arrived. LOL. It's a good machine. Have a blessed day and many more to come your way.
Love it. I miss sewing.
I also have problems with the zipper pulls, but I did finally figure out something that helps. After you insert one side and go to insert the 2nd, don't insert it directly straight into the zipper pull. Angle it away so that you are inserting at an angle. I wish I had a picture I could share. If I insert the left side first, when I go to insert the right side, the teeth are inserted with me holding the tape at an angle, the bottom of the tape not parallel to the first tape, but angled away slightly. I do hope you can figure that out.
I have followed you for years on your paper/crafting channel and I just find this sewing channel today?
Great tutorial but can i ask what size did the pouches end up?? thank you..
What brand of sewing machine do you have? I want to make a jelly roll rug but I am afraid my machine won’t be able to handle it. I have a 30 year old Singer.
It will work fine, just use a denim needle... The needle pierces the cotton rope easily. 💕🌞🌵😷
I'm very excited to learn a new craft medium with you. You inspire me so much with your beautiful.paper craft skills! I recently caught the quilting bug so I have been scanning TH-cam for easy beginner projects and stumbled upon your new channel and I immediately subscribed. You are kind of an addiction. Lol. Keep em coming and I'm excited to learn right along with you.
For this larger size you measured 3 inches from the middle for your diagonal cut. How do I figure out how much to measure from the middle when I make a smaller bag?
Brilliant! Thank you☺️
Oh my gosh, how CUTE!!!! Do you have any specific recommendations on who’s tutorials to watch to learn how to do that?
❤
Where can I find the head & butt pattern for this magnificent creature?!?? Please & thank you!
I think you tried I think it looks good😊😊❤💜💙💚💛🧡🤍🖤🤎
I am thinking you should have trimmed it to 8-1/2" square to preserve that 1/4" seam allowance all around.. Then the block would be 8" finished when you sew it into your quilt. That also would have saved the points of your star.
Please explain “as man as “ style! Sounds like me! 😻. P.S. Came here via Cog Hill video! 💕
AFTER WATCHING THIS FANTASTIC VIDEO, I DID FOUR SMALL POUCHES JUST SO I CAN GET USED TO DOING THIS AND I FREAKIN LOVE IT! IT'S SO FAST! AND YES IT DOES MAKE GREAT GIFTS!
Beautiful

OHMYGAWWD! MAYMAY I DID IT! IT'S THE CUT! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CUT! WOW!
I LOVE THE IDEA OF PUTTING A STRAIGHTPEN IN THE ZIPPER GREAT IDEA!
Thank you first time watching you , really enjoyed your video ,going to have a go at making these.
Half of a fat quarter is a fat eighth. 💖🌞🌵😷
You could totally save time by making these out of dollar store placemats as your quilted fabric! Add a zipper and the binding and you're out the door! 💖🌞🌵😷
Great idea with no waste! I love it
Beautiful!
Love that you’re doing this! So excited to make some quilt cards with you!
I was playing around and used my wrapper from the Sonic that my hamburger was in and mad a smaller version of this project I thought it turned out pretty well my kids liked it and they don't always like Granny's project so they tell my true!!
Thank you. Great solution, no fabric was wasted. I’m making these too, just need to buy the zipper.
Thank you! Great tutorial! I enjoy making bags from Center Street Quilts. They look so nice inside and out. I don't know what I did but all of a sudden the zipper pull was on and the zipper matched perfectly. Yay!
You need to angle the zipper at 45 degrees to get the pull seated! It works like a charm! Love this video!!
Have youever used a walking foot? Your quilting and binding will not go all wonky.
OMGosh! I am so glad I came across your channel. I love watching your tutorial and listening to your voice. You are so positive and comforting!!! I appreciate how you explain the process and how you point out short cuts and how to avoid mistakes. God love your heart. 💗 We would all be so blessed to have a neighbor like you. Thank you for what you do. 🌹 😊
I like both your sewing and Maymay made it on you tube. So have a good day.
