Omg I love Sarah! Her video was definitely eye opening about how hair structure and care works. The thing is, as she said in that video, there’s not a lot of research done on Afro textured hair, though our hair isn’t so different from a molecular standpoint, structurally, you can’t necessarily apply the same techniques from straight hair to Coily hair. I miss her!!! Dryness vs brittleness though are two different things. And when you get into brittle hair, that breakage is not good. As an aside, she’s not making videos anymore due to a hand injury. Otherwise, I’d still think she’d be making the same content. 😢 Love how your hair is styled 😍

Interesting thoughts. In my opinion it's not the washing itself that is the issue, it's letting your hair stay wet for too long. You can wash your hair every day if you also dry it every day - the issue is that for us curly girls, the process will take an hour or more each time, so I find it easier to cleanse my hair and scalp 1-2x a week instead of daily. Also, I'm mildly allergic to shea butter, so that's a no-go for me, but I do find it interesting that some people (coughBGCcough) try to almost shame curly girls into washing extremely frequently, but have nothing to say about the straight hair naturals who routinely go 1-2 months without washing and their hair is flourishing and thriving just fine 🤔

Well what I have noticed is that everyone has a way they react to certain methods of growing their hair Therfore, if the mainstream method is working for you .....continue with that......if the ancient method works for you , then go on with that. Personally I follow you because of the mini braids....you taught me so much about mini braids; however my hair likes water so I do use products with water and seal with butter My mini braids are flourishing. In my opinion, just choose whatever goes well with your hair. That's why it's called a hair growth journey, you learn something about your hair everyday

Easiest training is not healthy or necessary. It does nothing for your body, not did it actually with to make your waist thinner. Please resist these unscientific trends.

Our hair is different. I wash my hair once a week. I don't braid my hair and I comb it everyday dry. I oil the mid length and ends only. Oiling my hair wet helps keep ut moisturized i do admit. My hair is better now because of it

I have thought about this and the ancient method will not work for many people because we are not the same and we live in a different environment. My hair thrives the more frequently it is washed. No oil touches my scalp only my hair is oiled. Also there are mixes in my family generations back and this will true of many people in the diaspora. Therefore, our hair is not exactly the same as ancient Africans and cannot be treated the same.

I love the Ancient method because of simplicity. What i do now is that i oil my hair daily.
