Christmas Time is Here
This holiday season finally tackling something that's been on my 2024 bucket list: working through a Pasquale Grasso arrangement. 🎸✨
They say growth happens outside your comfort zone, and diving into Pasquale's intricate style definitely pushed mine! His masterful approach to harmony and technique is truly humbling. 🙏
I was thrilled to share this with my Sunday Jazz Guitar and Arranging class with @petermazzajazzguitar This past year in Peter's Zoom classes has been an incredible journey of growth. Having the opportunity to perform weekly alongside such talented musicians while learning from Peter's deep musical wisdom has expanded my playing in ways I never
imagined possible.🙏🎸✨
Wishing everyone moments of peace and connection with loved ones this holiday season. Music has this beautiful way of bringing us all together. ❤️

What I love most is the social learning environment. It’s...
The Star Crossed Lovers

One of my favorite Duke Ellington records is “Such Sweet Thunder”. Recorded in early 1957. One of my favorite compositions on that record is “The Star-Crossed Lovers” Co-written with Billy Strayhorn, this composition draws inspiration from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. This is my less thunderous version using only six strings rather than a full big band.
Horace Silver’s Loney Woman

This transcription takes me way back! It's 37 years since I wrote this music from a tape - Horace Silver's "Lonely Woman" from Pat Metheny's album "Rejoicing." Back then I didn’t own an acoustic guitar. I no longer have the sheet I wrote it out on then but a few days ago it popped back into my memory. It’s amazing to play this on acoustic for the first time and It’s amazing what one can hold on...

Taking "If I Should Lose You" to new depths in this time in G minor. Working my way through the weekly Peter Mazza @petermazzajazzguitaonline Zoom jazz guitar performance and arranging classes. Every session is a masterclass in inspiration! So grateful for Peter and the incredible global community of players in this class.
