Winterizing A Chicken Coop | How We Keep Our Flock Warm

Winterizing A Chicken Coop | How We Keep Our Flock Warm
This is good advice for people planning to build a tiny home. I don’t think it discourages people.
Hard pass. I couldn't even fit my board game collection in a Tiny Home
I heard that smell is also one factor to take into consideration.
there is no problem with tiny home.. as long as... you have another space or room for your storage...🤣🤣.. because, the storage mostly bigger than your tiny home.
isnt your first point like very specific, i mean like if you live in another country insurance might work completely different there
Hey just a minute! I know you...where's Ellie? Tiny Cabin Life right?
Pam here….to me it shows a regression and deterioration in society….we ‘used to live in cabins and huts’ as we settled the country and built our nation…now younger generations can’t afford what was built and must live in what is essentially a fishing shack. Just barely a step up from homelessness. What is even MORE criminal is all the ‘home buildiers’ cashing in on trend and grossly over chargin for these homes that are smaller than a hotel room. This is an absurdity.
I lived in tiny homes in Ossining, dannemora, Coxsackie and a few other country resorts and if you can get used to that, then anything else is a mansion
Thanks for your informative video. Now, I know exactly that tiny homes do not accommodate my needs.
So what your saying. Is theres no relief?. We cant downsize temporarily. To better ourselves in the future. But its ok to have . Nevermind its all b.s.
Downsizing should be encouraged.
Why ?
Look at that. The Spreadsheet people still finding a way to ruin the lives of the Free Spirit people. 😐
Merry Christmas. Here is a Strand of tinsel 🤣🤣🤣🎄
Dont move to a small home!! Its super hard to profit at your expense if you arent trying to keep up with the Joneses and dedicating your life to demonstrating how much stuff you wasted money on!! Its not just a place to sleep and stay out of the cold!! It has to be a massive, multi-purpose structure with a tons of mostly useless "features" to break and cause damage. Its selfish for you to live in a way that I cant exploit! -every detractor of "tiny homes"
Stop buying tiny homes, stop advocating for tiny homes, and start voting for social housing. Seriously, guys. Europe solved this problem after WW2. It wasn't until Thatcher and Reagan came along and wrecked everything in the name of enriching their greedy friends that homelessness in the US and Europe skyrocketed. Learn your history, trace the causes.
absolutely amazing video
If you can, just get an apartment. Really, you can actually buy apartments as well, if you don't feel comfortable with rent. Apartments CAN have wonderful community structures, they are built in places that already have needed infrastructure. Good infrastructure means: your kid is not tied to your home til they get a driver's license. Living in an apartment also means, that it's simply more environmentally friendly. Other needed accomodations like washers, dryers, storage units etc. are already there. You do not need to worry about caring for a boring unused front yard lawn, you can opt for an apartment that comes with access to a garden should yoi wish. You can get an apartment with a nice balcony where you can grow some herbs and get that quick sunlight vitamin d shot in. We need more mixed zoning, we need more mid- to low rise apartment buildings for singles, couples, and families. Planning ahead for old age? Get an apartment building that comes with an elevator with access to a nearby busstation. Your children can visit you there, and you are not imprisoned within a way too larhe suburban home thaz you can't leave because of old age. Get a tiny home only if you really really really are into tiny home living.
That’s exactly it. Rent an apartment in a walkable downtown for a year or two… get it out of your system. Done deal. Nobody wants to deal with this for decades.
If I can't make a cup of hot tea without worrying about mold, a tiny home is not for me. And, I like my stuff.
Id like for a company to come in and create small housing. There is a demand for this. Why oh why must the USA just get worse and worse with each year, so annoying.
Because from a builder perspective, making a 5 bedroom house isn’t that much more expensive than a 2-3 bedroom, but you can sell the 5 bedroom for 3-4x more.
Home insurance is a scam anyway. They don’t want to pay on any claim.
We lived in an RV for 2 years on acrage. 'Survived' the cabin fever by building a large outdoor patio + a 5 x 5 mtr Shed / Lounge / Studio / Breakout room & Pot-Belly Stove, so we coukd get Time Out together & away from each other - regularly. Particularly important in winter. Was fun the time+ ae werw young & fit. And, condensation & mould management was an issue in the RV, when all cosy & warm inside & windows /ceiling wet with condensation. Had to make sure we did a lot of airing out - i cluding our Doona + lifting out & airing out mattress as well. Partly why we built the covered patio, so we xoukd get our stuff put & aired.- but not rained on! Wouldn't do it again # PLUS learned that for the same amount of effort & expense > could have built a small house with 4x the living space-& to council regulations. * When you look at the cost of Prefab Tiny Homes now ( & their Profit Margins. Remember, these are businesses - not charities!) If you are smart & a little hanrdy - or willing to learn to be, you can do a LOT Yourselves. We kept costs WAY down by picking up building materials at re-use, 2nd hand & demolition sites too. Make sure stuff is clean & non-toxic of course, and get professionals to do the critical & Code work around electrics & plumbing.Have fun!

I still can't get past the part where that house in the trees is being held up by only two joist beams.
It is interesting to survey comments , including those decrying "tiny." I lived for a few years in a magnificently beautiful enclave not quite in a valley between two massive mountain ranges. The home was HUGE at 900 Sq feet, with 3 bedrooms, 2 of them quite spacious, and a large living area with nice adjunct dining. The kitchen was small, but the back yard door entered first into a "mud"room, where one could take off winter outerwear. We placed a freezer and clothes washer/dryer there. ALL this allowed escape from even village, or more distant town with grocery and other stores, out of sight over a dozen miles away. Admittedly 4 fruit trees, a grape and other garden, and a workshed holding bench and a carport existed, as well as immediate access to mountains, steam, even an icy deep pool . The vistas were over 100 miles and only the fact that it was rented , endlessly bleeding one, made it slowly become undesirable. But, my point: 900 sq ft. is HUGE for two or 3 people. Were two bedrooms to be lopped off taking the house down under 600 sq ft. it would still be roomy for two.
Even a 50 foot boat is far smaller, more cramped than a tiny home, although it retains mobility and a sun and storm deck. Tiny homes, by the way, do not cause seasickness when remaining inside curing storms. Tiny homes can be doubled in size and allow for exterior cabin storage. They tend to be able to allow growing of plants for food and pleasure, though one cannot just jump off into a different world which can be changed within moments, hours, days. Other advantages over both excess cleaning of large living spaces, and the fact that EVERY home, boat, or mansion DOES retain moisture, unless in desert environments - and around 8-14C ANYWHERE tends not to dry. So, anywhere not desert or frigid could be moldy, if the surfaces and ventilation are unsuitable.
I like my normal sized house
Ugly truth is that you should do whatever is right for you in your situation.
I am watching this on my 108 square foot bunkie aka tiny home
I have a house trailer. N that's too small for me. I cnt imagine going smaller
Bro really said there's not enough space while he lives in an open green area with no commie blocks nor cars.
Im here out of curiosity i cant even afford a car (because i spend all my money on my sim racing set up) so i cant afford a tiny home
Honest and real! Many thanks❤
I won't bother to watch the video as a person living in poverty. You buy what yiu can afford. I live outside in a tent and I'm still alive. I don't have to pay rent costs because of this.
Not a tiny house, but I had a small one bedroom apartment and can relate to the buying stuff and storage space. People would offer me things as a gift and I'd refuse, which seems in America is a faux pas, or at least in Texas where I was living. I've had a lot of perplexed people wonder, "I'm giving him a free crock pot! He must be ungrateful." I also had a strict one thing in, one thing out policy if I ever bought something of size. Buying one thing meant getting rid of another thing. It's actually a good way to live.
Thank you 😊
I just think it's the land that's still the issue. There are so many proposal of cheap housing but where do you put them?
What about a airflow heat exchanger, do they even make one small enough for a tiny home so you get the fresh air but keep the heat?
I used to pay $2000/year for house insurance for more than 20 years. When disaster occurs, the insurance paid $1500 for the whole roof replacement. With their calculations, in case the whole house were burn down, they will pay around $10,000 maximum. So, with a tiny house?
Are there systems to convert that humidity to potable water. Recall something like a drinking fountain/dehumidifier. Waiting for our mum's estate to get out of probate so we can maybe get one of the larger 'tiny homes'
When I hear someone say "we've been" in association with a tiny home it makes me squirmish. With how small they are it gives me anxiety to think about being in such a small space with others.
If tiny home dont meet minimal requirement of a building code, can they really called home? Are they legal in first place? sound like a fraud in me.
lol
I have a tiny house. Not by choice but OK.
clown country what to expect
You vill live in ze pod... Unless you attach wheels to it, that's heckin unacceptable!
Install wall recuperator and say goodbye to 24/7 dehumidityfiers. You also gonna save energy this way.
I’d like to point out to any viewers from the U.S., that this lifestyle is far more attainable in Canada because of HEALTHCARE. So many people cannot spend their lives pursuing their passions while still being positive, contributing, responsible adult members of society because we do not have the certainty of healthcare without insurance we pay for through an employer. Sad & nonsensical.
Id buy 1 to live in and 1 4 storage
If you have dehumidifiers running don't open your windows, you are defeating the purpose of using them. I live in Florida which has a ton of humid air. I have one dehumidifier which keeps the humidify level in the 40's year round. It runs less in the winter but it is still on 24/7. They also produce a lot of heat so in the winter they remove water in your house plus warm up the interior a little.
For the price you shouldnt need to worry about having insurance.
Americans are just stupid.
Main reason: Too smal. The End 😅
