Robert are you from Hawaii? I was born and raised and remember hearing the name flyin Hawaiian. I used to fly at the marsh in Kailua Oahu from the age of 10 in the 90s. I’m looking for a set of wheels and wheel pants for this exact model. If you know anyone that may have a set.

My wife is making me install this but the Wiring part has me confused.. what does the top tube wire hookup to if main power wire runs down to the bottom? The wire on the top tube does not reach down far enough to connect to the other wires

It's a crappy flyer as an airplane. Not for your average joe. As we all know from a design standpoint & from history, Ryan Aircraft designer Donald Hall didn't have time to redesign the horizontal & vertical tail surfaces. They kept the same surfaces as used with the Ryan M1 and were undersized for the much larger SOSL. Thus, it provided for a lot less instability in flight, to say the least.

Nice landing. Unfortunatel, LeBourget at that time had no runway...just a BIG field!

FASCINATING! I see the problem with the small dynamo, though...perhaps a smaller pulley and remove 'half' of the magnets in the dynamo case to lower magnetic resistance - then, instead of the tiny motorized fan - just put an array of LED's - flashing and non-flashing...it would work - since LEDs need much less current than the fan motor...

I grew up in Tanglewood ,the neighborhood next to where the Airfield was .. It was my playground growing up in the 70's and 80's . There are still a few structures standing to this day . But sadly the majority have been torn down. I remember a theater , a bomb shelter , some jail cells ,and a hill with a flat concrete platform on top and open underneath. I don't really know what it was used for . But I always wanted to know the history of the place so I did a little research and found a lot of info . And what I found was very interesting and it satisfied my childhood curiosity ! Thank you for sharing!

dont convert the axial movement to rotary to generate energy. Use the axial directly, placing static coils into cilinder, and magnets on the piston. much less energy loss.

Use 91 percent alcohol or denatured alcohol for hotter flame. Then use low viscosity oil on all moving parts. But no oil in piston tube or you will change compression. Then connect your tiny motor. Very nicely done.

Needs combustion and fuel like any engine modi will not be impressed
