Mecha Break: How was the Open Beta?
Recently I had the opportunity to check out the closed Alpha, closed Beta and Open Beta for Mecha Break. I learned that although it's a fun game there is certainly more balancing that needs to take place for the future of the game.

I wanted to give a bit of a deeper dive into the history behind Gundam and Gunpla to educate myself and found a rather interesting series of events that have procured Bandai as one of the greatest toy manufacturers on earth. Covering from 1979 to 2020 join me on a journey through plastic snap fit kits, various grades and scales ...

I bought a Gundam on Aliexpress so you don't have to. This was an experiment in determining whether or not it was worth while to purchase gunpla from 3rd party sources for steep discounts. As it turned out while completing this project they're not 100% worth while but if you're looking for something just to mess around with and try out techniques for painting before applying to your more expens...

Just a silly joke about the shutting down of Gundam Evolution. If you want my real opinions on the game and more so how Bandai could have fixed it please check out my other videos. Music from: Circus Music - Classic (VidTrax Music) Music provided by VidTrax Music / @vidtrax6917

Master grades are the best grade
$5 what can you say?
bootleg is my sh*t , it's all i can muster to buy. (ofcourse im still rooting for bandai if u have the means to go original , then go for it.)
That's why I never buy from Aliexpress. First, they sell you crap and second, it's a Chinese website that help fund the CCP... You be the judge
THIS GAME MAKES ME 100% H
A gooood get more H
The customization was crazy
@@mrguaranteed one of the greatest aspects of the game for sure for the lulz
I loved playing the beta hopefully lots more to come from Seasun games!
what a legend
the particle effects look annoying before you die but besides that the game looks decent! good to see you on youtube!
@mrguaranteed ah I figured I'd give live streaming on youtube a try not sure if it's the best platform for it
Kira whiny? If you have to live that, you won't even had a chance to cry, most simply will unlive themselves. All the people that say that Kira is a whiny kid are edgelord and idiots
@XionSempai it's specifically a tone thing. He has a whiny tone to his cry. No issues with the character himself but his tone of voice is awful when he cries. It's a well known meme at this point
Not entirely sure I could trust Aliexpress with package handling after seeing that box, then again it's not like I can order anything there cause the site is banned in India 😂
@@KisekiFan for the like 5 bucks cad that I spent I didn't mind the box being a mess lol
5 dollars at my Dollarama
My guy really claiming Entry Grade is a dead line.
The original entry grade line. It came back I talk about that too
You're not even sad about the shutdown don't even care
the controls felt wonky IMO, Titanfall 2 has better mech controls
Bro this vid sucks you glossed over so much. No mention of Real Grade?
Bro you didn't watch the vid real grade was discussed
As a model kit builder I'm inclined to disagree about the white glint been a very desired kit and that's why it's expensive. It's expensive becouse a bunch of mofos pre-order a tons of these kit and keep it, so they can ask for those ridiculous prices, that nobody pays for. 😢
MR BEEEAAAST
Hey man I think you're missing a tooth
Hey man yeah I am
I actually buy those bootleg gundams if i want to experiment or practice... I made one SD Exia with LEDs both in the head and chest.. and it was my first try on weathering... Turned out quite good
That's awesome to hear I'd love to see some of your experiments sometime!
Looks better than expected, good color scheme
I bought a couple third party WFM Weapon Display bases from Aliexpress for a couple bucks a pop and they were a lot better than i thought they'd be
Glad they worked out for ya
Some AliExpress stores are legit.. that being said, out can find some deals. But If the price seems way too good to be true it is
Bandai keeps releasing kits people already have, that no one wants, or keep forcing square peg in a round circle with the aerial. When we ask for a particular model kit, Bandai gets angry or ignores the consumer. But if third-party vendor comes out with a kit that we want and looks amazing. Bandai is quick to get the lawyers... Our gunpla hobby is pain. Great video.
They're good for kit bashing
I got my Calibarn and 08 RG from there, they actually tell you when its a bootleg, but my local package company wants to give me my water decals until the date AliExpress gave me
You painted it but left of the safety nubs 💀
Some People like that design than cutting it off.
My Stepmom got me an HG Unicorn off of Aliexpress. The box was thick cardboard, held together with staples, and the kit didn’t hold together at all…
My heart goes out to her
I’m assuming it’s by Daban
I bought my first Ali kit a couple weeks ago. It's a WM HG Astray looking thing with a giant sword. Price was about half of what it would cost here for a Bandai kit. Still I wouldn't recommend it. It's all ABS, which means it's a tough springy kind of plastic that doesn't want to stay connected. It's unpleasant to work with, I had multiple issues with fitment and sanding it is harder. Details and edges are all soft and blurry compared to the real thing. Also this might become an issue when painting, abs can degrade and crack when using certain thinners. They included waterslides which is nice though. I would rather buy a nice real Bandai kit for the price of two of these.
7/11 flavored
I like them 7/11 flavors
I think your shipping company is to blame for scuffed box, all my packages from Ali are in perfect condition
Looks like a copy of the 7'11 version.
100 percent!
Nice vid! Good to have videos like this floating around the net for us budget buyers! One critique I have is that your music when doing the showcase of the completed model was too loud, made it tough to hear you.
One of the things some of the 3rd party kits do is a nice sheet of water slides. Not every bootleg kit has them but a good amount do.
I think you skipped the RE 100 line that started in 2014
No G-Witch? 🥺
Nope game is dead and gone but some people on reddit started a revival project
Not one word spoken about perfect grade
No I did talk about perfect grade
I bought a WfM Lfrith Jiu kit on AliExpress, and it was surprisingly not a knockoff
That's awesome
third company even made gp02 mg so many third company making kit they even produced wfm kit bootleg even better
Very interesting and informative! I’ve collected gunpla and have few original pieces from the 1980s too. An exhibition at MUFANT, the sci-fi and fantasy museum in Turin, Italy, on Gundam and gunpla is currently on, showcasing gunpla from 1980 to 2022. Here’s the link to a video th-cam.com/video/OpeuqpdsV4k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pyFv9PLZyS3qc9bD
At 11:14, the HG Revive stuff. You make it sound like they're not a big deal. If you go google up images comparing the original Gundam Wing 1/144 Shenlong GunPla from the mid-late 1990s with its more recent Revive release, the difference in design and quality would blow you away. I originally thought Revive was just a rerelease, and didn't look too closely into it, until more recently. Gundam Wing models in it really are better in every way, from design, detail, all pieces are the right color with no need for stickers/paint, the proportions are so-SOO much better....it's worth looking into. Once I realized this and took a closer look at the Shenlong....well, it gave me ideas, so I bought two of them, along with an old Endless Waltz Nataku gundam, took the dragon fang arm from one kit, modded it from a right arm to a left arm, fully built the other kit to have two dragon fang arms (kind of like the later Alto-long gundam), then used a backpack add-on kit from the Gundam Parts with these unfolding weapon arms, added the Nataku dragon gangs to them and....well, I was happy with the custom result, and it never would have looked so good if the new Shenlong wasn't as beautiful a model as it was. Updated, looks great, lots of flexibility in a "martial arts" gundam, not as good as other gunpla kits, but absolutely fantastic for the $20 price!
Definitely something to keep in mind if I do an updated version in the future or a more indepth jump into specific lines. The custom sounds amazing I'd love to see pics of it someday!
Trust me... after goog paint job... there is no diference
Iron-Blooded Orphans DID kinda revolutionise Gunpla in that almost every kit in the series had an inner frame, similar to MGs but simplified.
Yes they had partial frames but the RG series did it first in the 1/144 scale. So I didn't consider it to be that big of a difference putting it hg besides the price point differences and some neat engineering.
@@ichishoto My Gunpla collecting started with RGs back in December 2014 with the then-new Z'Gok. Granted i had the old HG Sandrock Custom before it and had bought it with the Ver Ka Nu Gundam but most of my other early purchases after were mostly RGs, save for the HGUC Gouf Custom
It was the only option to buy gunpla in Brazil during covid... And when you don't have option, aliexpress is actually very good 😂😂😂 BTW they do sell original bandai gunpla too
Oh absolutely I'm talking about the kits that are so cheap you don't know what you'll get lol but yeah they definitely have a place and if you can't get them by any other means 100% order it up on there!
But SD Gundam does belong here! SD is weird but like, the Karl Gustav we love and know is infact from SD Gundam! The original Hathaway's Flash (Book) design looks nothing like it! And there's alot of other UC designs i don't know from the top of my head ARE from SD Gundam! Be nice to it!!
It's entirely my personal preference thst i dont like them and I decided to omit it more as a joke and to cut down video run time if I included everything gunpla then we'd have an hour or two long video and viewership likely would have been down which means the video wouldn't have been pushed out for all of you to see it. We are all slaves to the algorithm sadly
@@ichishoto I'm also making a joke just because good (full scale) designs come out of it.....
@@sanikku7359 I totally misread that lol
As someone who prefers most Kotobukiya designs to Bandai anyway, (and thus am conditioned to enjoy lower build quality and extra work on the backend to get everything fitting correctly,) and especially as someone who mostly only buys kits with the goal of doing a bunch custom work to them and then putting them into dioramas and static displays... This kind of stuff is deliriously tempting. The idea that I could furnish an entire army for the cost of a single AoZ P-Bandai kit is hard to ignore. (Plus, what better opponent to face off against the two Haze'n-thley II-Rah kits I still haven't put together yet?)
About 5-6 years ago I bought a hg barbatos and mg supernova heavy arms from wish. They're the first two model kits that got me into the hobby and they're still standing strong. I'm not sure how much wish and ali differ but i wouldn't mind purchasing from either site again
I own and have built several of the original kits and the later MSV (Mobile Suit Variation) line. Personally, there is nothing cooler than those old models. They require some skill to glue, sand, paint, or shape to your own custom design with model putty. But when you see one that's built with skill, it's a thing of real beauty. I would also like to note that the original 1/60 scale Gunpla kits were made all the way back in 1980. They obviously didn't have the detail that you would expect from modern day stuff but they were really cool. I have a 1/60 Dom model that's been painted and customized. There's also this crazy 1/30 Zaku 2 High Mobility type that was released in the 80's, it was made out of styrofoam cause of it's massive size. I can't imagine the skill needed to make the styrofoam look smooth but the pictures of the finished product is just so amazing.
That's some pretty wild stuff. Makes me wish I could time travel and get some of those older kits.
LOL so buying gunpla from Aliexpress become sin -_-
Less a sin and more a lot of people are apprehensive of the super cheap gunpla advertised if the quality is there or if they'll somehow get scammed. I had a positive experience that's what it's all about dispelling that it's all crap
1/60 kits had been around since the early 80s.
