    Thanks for this great interview but I have tried about every type of iodine on the market that you can imagine and I can only use perfect iodine or I get headaches and a racing hard pounding heartbeat which I wish was mentioned on here. I do have like three different mthfr issues having to take methyl folate and methylcobalamine and riboflavin and I would love to hear in the next interview more about symptoms in how to address that like the fast heart rate and irregular beats and even chest pain and random body aches and headaches. And I am going to start taking glutathione for my toxic liver along with the b vitamins and is there an interference with that? My kidneys are having issues as well and I with my toxin overload not to mention my gut dysbiosis. Us complicated cases would like to understand all of this. I could never take any type of form of thyroid medication or even glandulars without horrible side effects. I couldn’t mix or match them or take less dosages at different times, they just didn’t work for my condition and I’ve been told by biofeedback machines that there’s mercury in my pituitary gland that’s causing the thyroid issues and I’ve had to go through quite a bit of chelation for mercury toxicity before. I have red on my thermography exam for my breasts but an ultrasound confirmed fibrocystic breasts and I have golf ball sizes in them. I’ve tried iodoral, Lugols, Nascent, other brands as well with bad side effects even at lower doses until Perfect Iodine. Can you talk about all of this and the different types of iodine out there and how they work in the body? I’m not seeing a huge effect from Perfect Iodine though after a while of taking it. I did lose weight when in boundary waters on a canoe trip for a week with iodine in my water to purify it. But I tried that at home and had bad symptoms but I wasn’t exercising like I was on the trip so did this have an effect on me like this? That’s was in my late twenties and I’m 46 now and need to get on top of these dense breast tissue issues although an ultrasound confirmed there’s no cancer and it’s just fibrocystic disease but I know that can change as my hormones change.

    My cat has been diagnosed with a thyroid condition, she eats constantly but she is skin and bones. We had her on a cream that went in her ear, it made her depressed and lathargic, plus the vet couldn't always get the medication so it was a roller coaster ride. Currently she isn't on anything but i wonder if iodine would help her.

    I’ve been a hypothyroid mess for a year now despite increased dosages of thyroid medication. I started taking 25mg of iodine a week ago after listening to previous videos with Dr Brownstein. Going to increase to 50mg after listening to this video. I’ve had many people scare me away from taking iodine saying it’ll only worsen my Hashimoto’s. Taking the 150-300 microgram doses clearly have gotten me nowhere; feeling half dead this whole past year.😢 Prior to my thyroid tanking, I was a distance runner competing at the elite level. My hypothyroidism has not just ended my dreams but also has lead to me relapsing back into old eating disorder behaviors from being so discouraged and miserable! My legs have accumulated mucins from this prolonged hypothyroid state; that’s would really triggered me to old eating disorder behaviors of anorexia and bulimia. Praying this iodine is the answer!🙏🏼🙏🏼 Along with my doughy, myxedema legs, my hypothyroid symptoms are severe; no spontaneous BM’s, terrible headaches, insomnia, HR mid-30’s, etc. Really wish I could have Dr Brownstein as my doctor! I will follow his advice; thank you for having Dr Brownstein!

    I was just switched from estradiol 0.05mg bi-weekly patches and progesterone/Prometrium 100mg vaginally nightly, (been using for 10 months) to the compounded bi-est nightly (including Testosterone) because my Testosterone was <0.1 and my estrogen was still too low. I still have cycles, but not monthly; I'm 51. As far as how I FEEL... I haven't had any hot flashes, but I have ZERO sex drive or desire, low energy/motivation. I was Dx with osteopenia a few years ago and it got worse with this year's DEXA scan. I have brain-fog, anxiety attacks, dry skin and vagina, fatigue/no energy, joint/muscle pain, bloating, mood swings, and thinning hair!!!! What can I expect? This is SO confusing!!!

    I remember reading, from a Dr. who treats thousands of thyroid patients, found that those with Hashimoto's the sweet-spot for iodine dose seems to be 3-drops of 5% Lugol's solution. Wish I could remember where I read this. Do you agree with this or can a person with Hashimoto's take more iodine without getting a flare.

    • @HappyHealthyHormones
      @HappyHealthyHormones 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@garydagen9575 thank you for your question. For those with Hashimoto’s, iodine supplementation can be beneficial but must be carefully managed. Three drops of 5% Lugol’s solution (about 18.75 mg of iodine) may be suitable for some, but dosages should be personalized. Some may tolerate higher amounts, but iodine can trigger detox reactions or flares in others. I recommend combining iodine with selenium (200-400 mcg/day), vitamin C, magnesium, and unrefined salt to support the body. Always work with a knowledgeable healthcare provider to monitor and adjust dosages for safe, effective treatment. Blessings, Dr R

    Taking bi est estriol as was not able to take estradiol straight. Does it help with weight gain? Also like the other lady, feeling great, but wondering if I should increase for weight loss. Currently at .5 biest 20/80, 300 mg progesterone and 4 mg test

      Well, we extended an invitation for a debate on this topic to Dr Gersh , which was declined. At the Institute of Bioidentical Medicine, which I lead, we are dedicated to establishing healthcare standards grounded in truth. We believe in the importance of open discussion and constructive dialogue to advance our field. When practitioners are unwilling to engage in transparent discussions, it raises concerns about the credibility of their positions on this matter.

    This is simply an idea. Just like the lipid hypothesis, it’s not based in fact. Let’s not pretend that estriol given to the patient is the same as estriol created from estradiol in a woman’s body.

    If you have any body fat estroil is not needed you already have it. You basically only need to focus on estradiol that was the fountain of youth and health before menopause

    Very helpful! Surprisingly, there are some very prominent menopause doctors, that are pushing that we only need to take Estradiol, because the body converts what it needs. I hope doctors can all come to agreement, so women can feel confident in our choice to take HRT to better our health as we age. Thank you! ❤

      Yes but Estradiol converts to Estriol. And Estrone and Estradiol go back and forth. Estradiol keeps Estrone in check. Progesterone keeps Estradiol in check

      @@jessicahitchens6926 Hello Jessica: You are referring of course to the biochemical "pathways:" how these estrogens can convert one to another, and do so in well understood patterns. One goal we have in treating women in menopause is to replenish hormones in a manner that replicates how nature designed these patterns. The 24 hour urine hormone test, a gold standard of ovarian hormone testing for 50 years, is important in assisting us to adjust dosages that replicate proper estrogen patterns. Giving estradiol alone to a woman in menopause will not produce estrogen hormone profiles (estradiol, estriol and estrone) and what these estrogens become in being utilized (metabolites). This is why we treat with Bi-Est. Of course, progesterone in optimal dosages is a critical need for hormonal pattern replication and balance. So is testosterone for woman. Best to you, Dr R

      @@jessicahitchens6926 Hello Jessica. Thank you for your question and your response!!!❤ Did you watch the entire video above? You are referring to the biochemical pathways and how the principal estrogens can convert to one another. When young healthy women are tested by the 24 hour urine hormone method, as they have been since the 1960’s, the patterns are clear: there is more estriol than the sum of estrone and estradiol. Our point is that when we treat women in menopause, it’s optimal to replicate this pattern. This cannot be achieved by treatment with estradiol alone: I presented several examples of this in the video above. And it can easily be replicated by giving a combination of both estradiol + estriol (named “Bi-Est”). Why we consider this to be important is the balance of estradiol and estriol matters: estradiol is a stimulant to proliferation, including breast glandular cell proliferation, while estriol, via estrogen receptor site beta inspires de-proliferation. In a young woman both of these processes are essential for a normal menstrual cycle. In a woman mid-life and beyond, de-proliferation is optimal to emphasize: we do not want proliferation of breast glandular cells in menopause. As you mention, adequate if not rich amounts of progesterone are part of a good treatment program for a woman in menopause. Also, individualized replenishing of testosterone is crucial as well. Best wishes, Dr R

    Hi from Australia! I have been on bioidentical HRT for 10 years. I went off it for a while and couldn’t wait to get back on, I felt like I withered away. I’m 67 and feel pretty good. My script is 7.5% progest BIEST 0.15% DHEA 4% and versapro as a carrier. My Dr always say my estrogen is low so the 24hr urine test makes sense. I have my bloods done every 4 months. My Dr doesn’t want to give me testosterone as he says the DHEA converts to testosterone. Do you agree and would you make my BIEST a bigger percentage?? Thanks for all of your knowledge, amazing! 🙏
