Hey Mark - Speedometer Issue: Before you remove the speedometer gear I suggest that you make sure that the cable is not broken or missing. Remove the knurled cap on the transmission and see if the inner cable is in good condition. I think you mentioned in an earlier vid that the speedo head is new so that should not be the problem. I do have the speedo gear assembly available. My gear has 12 teeth. Hope this helps.

Where's the spark plugs, should be in the middle of the valve cover.

I use a small mortar tub for oil changes, these GMC's can hold up to 2 gallons. I've only used 15-40 oil, that cartridge isn't re-usable.

best oil for older diesel engines I would use a thick oil to help slow the leaks. Better for old seals 15W-40 (API CJ-4)

Mark, I'm not sure that your filter element is reusable? It may be a paper type disposable filter. Looks to me that the stain on the bottom of the fuel pump is from an oil leak on the filter canister. Hey, keep at it.
