Ferrari 512 BB driving uphill
On a beautiful sunday afternoon in November, driving my Ferrarri 512 BB 1976 gently uphill. Loads of fun! This clip is for all those who have soon the car in the garage, going through a painfull cold start. The car is really awesome, stunning views and great sound. A timecapsul!

Firing up my 1976 Ferrari 512 Berlinetta Boxer after two months having stood in the garage... Note the flame after the backfire! The procedure for a cold engine is as follows: Twist the ingnition key to the first position. You will hear the clicking of the fuel pumps as they start delivering fuel to the carburetors. After approximately 15 to 20 seconds, pump the accellerator pedal to the floor ...

Ah, the good old days. We lost something when Ferraris "...could be driven by a woman " as Montezumolo (did I spell that right?) stated about the F50. My first car had a manual choke. You had to know how to drive back then.

Opposite cylinders doesn't necesarily mean it is a boxer, it's a 180° V12.
I love how reluctant and highly strung older Ferrari 12 cylinders are, both the boxers and the V12s. They're like an angry giant. They do not want to wake, when they have just been woken they stagger around groggy when cold, but when they are alert and warmed up they are just immense. Monsters.

nothing wrong with this engine, Wait till the fuel pomp has filled all carbs, now half of them are full and the other are empty. Give it time and great it with respect, its caracter of older boxermotors but ones it runs its amazing to hear. Nice video.

Engine was tuned in different conditions, it's probably too rich now hence the smoke. If it smelled of gas it was probably too rich...the partial cylinder firing 🔥also after it started as they cleared themselves out.
