Thanks You, your work is very helpful for me
how much mhz this ?
Good demonstration, thank you
What magnetron were you running when you damaged you camera? XD Must've been quite a high peak power
No safety
Why not covered?
@@hallesarts There are a few parts which need to be oiled manually.
It’s frightening to see that scary RF candle near your laptop
Hi guy, what is your mosfet?
@@mohammadmakiabadi6868 APT5024BFLL🐶☺️
good day just seeing your video and I am interested in making this stuff. thanks for sharing.
Hi guy, how much is the power of input signal ?
@@mohammadmakiabadi6868 Like less than 15W I believe
Art of power!! What did you do as improving the gate?
@@mohammadmakiabadi6868 Just added a slightly bit of inductor there and picked a suitable fet😹
@@uecmitsuimarinedieselengin873 I wish it was shown in the video 😀😁
Amazing. A fully functional HFVTTC with not a single doorknob capacitor in sight :D I guess all the tank capacitance just consists of the parasitics in the coils and tube, right? Very cool, as usual
@@inductivelycoupledplasma6207 Hah exactly. Thanks 🙏
@@uecmitsuimarinedieselengin873by the way, I can't seem to find any data on the 4CX500 tube you used. Do you have any information about it? Thanks 😅
@@inductivelycoupledplasma6207 Oh it should be 4X500 tube, by eimax, maybe I typed wrong sorry.
@@uecmitsuimarinedieselengin873 ahhh, cool. I found it! I recently obtained a CV1883 tetrode with very similar specs. 500W plate and 30W screen, but with a 20W grid and 112.5W heater! I'm going to get some more as they're very cheap. Nice to see that you got some good performance from a similar tube
@@uecmitsuimarinedieselengin873thanks! I found it. I am working on a VTTC with a similar tube (CV1883), a tetrode rated for 500W anode dissipation. Hopefully I can get some good performance from it, as I haven't built any vacuum tube circuits before
Вот это уже больше похоже на факельник А то 5 см разряд это максимум свечальник)
Hi! What capacitor did you use for the tank in this circuit? Also the feedback capacitors too. Thanks!
@@inductivelycoupledplasma6207I was using like 235pF doorknob for the tank and around 18-19 nF for the feedback.
@@uecmitsuimarinedieselengin873 thank you :)
Ive also tried exciting one of those induction lamps with a class E oscillator (HFSSTC without matching coil, just like yours!). Those induction lamps are extremely easy to induce ICP in, which makes sense given that it's what they're designed for XD
@@inductivelycoupledplasma6207 Hah nice! I read about something that they put a piece of metal sheet in the relatively cold area inside the bulb(cold point) to make the mercury condense on them and give it a better property to start.
@@uecmitsuimarinedieselengin873 I smashed one of my bulbs accidentally, and yes, there is a braided metal strip in the base of the lamp, near to the coil. So yes, you're right! I'm assuming the lamp initially strikes through CCP and it transitions to ICP. There is also a coil in series with the one around the ferrite, which is simply wrapped around the tube, with the magnetic field down the axis of the discharge, like in our ICP experiments (air core) and I believe it's purpose is for starting. The lamp operates at 230kHz. Very nice bulb, although I burned the phosphor on it using the HFSSTC circuit hehe
@@inductivelycoupledplasma6207I think that second 'winding' is used like a resonator to induce high voltage to help with the start, I can see it on my 2.65Mhz induction lamp as well. What does it become when the phosphor is burnt? I am curious
@@uecmitsuimarinedieselengin873 in my lamp (which is different to yours, with external ferrite rings), there is a whole second coil, would around the glass and not the ferrite. I suspect this is for starting. The phosphor turns black when burned. There's now a huge dark spot on the bulb haha
Could you drop me pls this solidworks sketch? Much appreciated
Hi guy, does it run on ICP plasma tube?
@@mohammadmakiabadi6868 I think so but it will need a matcher in between.
Hi, thanks for your nice videos, could you please share your schematic? I need atleast 200w hfsstc to run my inductively coupled plasma tube.
@@mohammadmakiabadi6868 Of course, you can send me an email then I could reply to it with the schematic attached. Link in my discrimination
@uecmitsuimarinedieselengin873 thanks a lot 🙏 💓 💕 ❤️ 💗
What an interesting project for postgraduates. It has happened to me that in Chile I have met researchers who only work below 1 MHz; while others only over 10 GHz. What was the project about? any paper to read? Greetings.
The BLF188 truly is a great device, very tolerant of vswr mismatches. I have used them at HF frequencies and also VHF but not as yet on higher frequencies. I have not managed to blow one, despite antenna accidents. This is the first time I have seen this chip used in a class E configuration. From your comments below I calculate the efficiency to be around 80% This seems a little on the low side. I don't see any vias along the transmission line ground planes, could this lower the efficiency? I always silver plate when working above VHF and this does make a difference. I too would like to experiment with class E and will be building a test circuit. I once saw a data sheet that suggested these chips for not really suitable for class E, I am not sure why that was the case, the only concern is a carefully controlled gate voltage swing. (EDIT, just while writing this, I remember the reason - Drain voltage swing, VDD x 4 ish for class E. Compared to VDD x 2 ish for AB.) What are your thoughts on the drain voltage problem? Great work building the amp and thanks for posting. Chris, UK.
@@TheTemporalAnomaly Actually there are via holes around the grounding plane there. Yeah you got it right, the problem lies in the nature of Class E, too high Drain voltage. Usually it should be 3.x times the supply voltage for a standard Class E, however here I actually slightly decreased the conducting angle to let the maximum Drain voltage drop a bit to make sure it lies within the safety region. Thanks for your comment!
Ha thats awesome 😎
Wow super cool i am trying to build hfsstc brother can you help me building it
@@Earthcomputer-d9t I am willing to help, just email me and we could chat.
Ok thanks 🤗🤗
I got a plasma light source, originally used as a medical instrument. Can be coupled to glass fiber and used in an operation. Power is like 250W at UHF frequency. Will do a detailed teardown in the coming month when I have enough time for it.
VERY HELPFUL .. THANKS A MILLION
Get it running!
could you possibly post a video of it running? my curiosity has peaked on how it sounds.
Man that's tiny
Would lovw to see it running !
no matter what anyone may say about this in the future I think it is SUPER cool
great explanation.👍
😎
Nice explanation. Very helpful. Thank you
Awesome 👌.. does the engine run at a set speed? I know that the thrust is controlled by the hydraulic propeller pitch control but does the engine also increase/decrease RPM ?
@@T2D.SteveArcs Hi mate, yeah during the test the engine was set to -34rev/min. This vessel isn't equipped with a variable pinch propeller😄. There are different kind of governors which could be used on diesels, such as the constant speed type, constant torque type. However the main engines usually are equipped with the constant speed type to avoid the runaway in a storm. Nowadays the ME engines use E-governors which could be set to be speed or torque controlled on the computer.
@uecmitsuimarinedieselengin873 😎 thanks for your explanation/reply you're awesome mate 👍👍👍
34rev/min
Hi, what is the value of the capacitor labelled "C1" on the schematic? Thanks
Hello friend, C1 is a 0.1uF ceramic capacitor which is used as a filtering capacitor for the gate bias.
